Chuck Pfister, owner, was my contact person for First Impression Pavers. I was given his name as someone who would do a good job. He came out and gave me an estimate and told me what needed to be done to keep water from standing in an area around the garage. The garage floor had cracked and buckled terribly because of water. The work being done was on the outside area of the garage. Also adding a new section to the driveway for winter parking and putting in a new sidewalk area in front of the house. They worked hard and did a good job at clean up and the worked looked very nice afterwards. I was told not to park on the new additon for 10 days and not to walk on the new addition for a couple of days. To be sure it cured properly I waited 2 weeks before parking on the driveway addition and waited several days before walking on the new walkway next to the garage. We had a very mild winter in Wisconsin and the cement poured for a walkway next to the garage and on the outside of the fenced area by the garage cracked within two and a half months. The new driveway addition has started to chip and break apart where the old and new meet. I had another contractor look at it and he said that felt should have been put down between the old driveway and the new addition before pouring to allow for the ground shifting and keeping it from chipping. I called Chuck and left a message. He did not respond. I called a second time to leave a message and he DID return my call and said he had already come to look at the cracks in the cement since he lives close by. He never called me to tell me he came to look at it. He asked me if water had been standing there during the winter and I told him no that since he poured the new concrete there was no standing water on any of the new areas. He said he didn't know why it cracked, but had no time to come out and re-pour the concrete as he was getting very busy at the moment, but would come back later as he had another job site that also cracked. I have not heard back from him since and that was in Feb. 2012, the work was done in Oct 2011. I am very disappointed in the lack of proffessionalism and the lack of customer care. I would have accepted the nature of concrete is to crack because of ground shifting, etc. and been understanding about it, but to NOT KEEP IN CONTACT with me to set up another date to tear out the old and pour new concrete is not a good way to do business. For this reason unfortunately, I can not recommend this company.
