He listened to what we were thinking and then made some great suggestions for things we hadn't thought of - some of which we used and greatly improved the final appearance of our home. He was thorough and included some extra things, like installing our new outdoor lights and flower boxes. We appreciated that Mike and his team made an effort to keep things picked up in the yard for the safety of our dog. Their evening availability for the initial meeting to prepare the estimate was helpful and Mike was very detailed in explaining the project and options available. The estimate was very easy to understand and the price was reasonable. The actual work was performed on time with excellent results. The crew was very careful to remove their shoes before walking on the carpet, cleaned the work areas very well including the snowy yard. The windows that were installed were excellent quality and fit very well. After the installation I used an infrared thermometer and compared the window to the surrounding (well insulated) wall and the window was only 2 degrees cooler!!!!!!! We are looking forward to having Zimmerlee come back in the spring to install a tear-off roof and skylights for us. Thanks Mike.

We had a situation with some old flashing that we decided should be replaced, but wasn't discussed or covered in our initial estimate. Mike went ahead and fixed it at no charge to us. His crews did quality work and were great about leaving our yard clean after every work day. They were also friendly and prompt. We would definitely use Zimmerlee Construction for future projects.

I got estimates from them for other work, but I did not use them because they were a little expensive. I will use them again in the future.

+ 0 moreWhile trying to complete a total exterior restoration on our home, we had major delays associated with our hired roofing contractor. These delays were holding up other aspects of the project as the cold weather approaches. I was referred to Zimmerlee Construction as a possible solution. I contacted the owner and explained the problem. As busy as they were on other jobs, within 48 hours, the repair work was completed so the other contractors could continue moving forward.
Description of Work: The flashing and shingle work on the awnings was poorly executed and not up to standards with the job. They had to be reconfigured with attention to overall aesthetics.

+ -1 moreMarvelous. I am totally enthusiastic about this company and the work they did at my home. They are a wonderful company to work with and I fully endorse them.
Description of Work: Over the period of several months, they first had to demolish the existing master bath (complete tear out to the wall studs). They moved the shower wall to expand it and built an awesome steam shower unit. In the other two baths, they removed wallpaper, skim coated the walls, tore out all the old fixtures and installed everything new (Kohler toilet, marble flooring and base floor). During this entire time, they were on time, clean and very professional.

Mike had excellent references and I understand does good work. I know that Mike does bath remodeling and I'd certainly ask for a quote for that also.

+ 0 moreFor future work I will call upon Zimmerlee Construction. This is the second "job" I had contracted with Mike. He will be back for the third one. As with most construction projects, there were unforseen problems that came up during the course of the job. Some if the unforseens were issues that come up in the normal course of construction and others were in the form of additional cost. The unforseens costs added about $2000 to the total price, and in those situations is when you find out the true integrity of the contractor. Mike worked with me and the situation with honesty and integrity. Mike and his crew are consummate professionals; prompt, diligent, courteous, The progress of the job had to be adjusted because of weather conditions, and the crew was always arriving and making the rate of progress that Mike had projected. Mike is not the least expensive, I would not want inexpensive roofing work, the headaches that one could incur of a "cheap price" are more than what I am willing to pay. Mikes quote through was in the "range of quotes" I received. He uses quality materials. His employees are craftsmen, they need to be compensated well if you want to receive a job "well done.". He is the most through I have dealt with and that is well worth any additional cost.
Description of Work: Roofing, complete tear off and replacement. Gutters, complete replacement.

+ -1 moreThey tore all of the old wooden material off the house and replaced it with well cut and shaped aluminum replacements. We had originally intended to go a different route with these repair and had bought and painted the fascia boards. They were able to use those and wrapped them in aluminum. Everything went smoothly and if they had a question, they called to check what they should do. The owner, Mike, met me at the house after the work was done and we inspected the work together. I am very happy with the work they did, how they were able to work with us on a deadline, how courteous they were, and the finished results. I will be using them in future when I need more work done.
Description of Work: Replaced soffit and fascia on north and south sides of house with aluminum in preparation for new gutters. Removed old fascia and soffit and cleaned up trash.

Description of Work: New roof. Cleaned off the old three layers. Replaced decayed wood, installed ice and water shields, installed E-Z plugs in old vent holes, new flashing, shingles and gutter hangers.

+ -1 morePreviously used Zimmerlee to do siding work on my house in 2008. During the winter an ice dam caused some of the molding to fall off the facia on the 3rd floor. The molding supported the metal used to support the shingles at the edge of the roof. I looked up the company that did the siding work to see if they also did roofing and called Mike at around 3:45pm. At 4:00pm he had 2 men here to verify they could fix it. I gave them the piece that fell off and by 4:45pm they had reattached the piece, secured the other surrounding pieces and secured the metal strip back in place. After they left he followed up with a concern one of his men brought to him due to the size of the piece but I assured him that was the way it was installed in the first place. Very fast, very professional and exceeded all of my expectations. Highly recommend him.

+ 0 moreMike and his crew were a pleasure to work with and above all can be trusted to do the job right. While installing the siding they made several carpentry repairs which could have just as easily been covered up. But as Mike's crew stated, "If you are going to do a job, do it right." They also spotted a faulty downspout and repaired that. The siding looks so good people mistake it for real cedar shake. Any concerns I had were handled professionally and in a timely manner. Communication was top notch and the results have drastically improved the look of our home. We noticed a distinct difference in comfort level (no drafts) this winter with the new storms on. Even on the windiest of nights you can not hear any wind. This company is one of the few I have dealt with that cares about their customers. The work done has held up beautifully.
Description of Work: Triple-track storms installed on 24 windows. Simulated shake shingle vinyl siding installed on upper story. Flashing and trim on 24 windows.

Mike Zimmerlee maintained contact during the job process and was very polite and responsive. Job site was cleaned up. Overall price for the entire job beat several other contractors. We would not hesitate to hire Zimmerlee Construction for future work!

+ 3 moreMike Zimmerlee and his crew are truly gems in this business. They are true craftsman in their trade. Mike is an incredible communicator from bid to finished product. Mike communicates daily while the project is being completed. He leaves no stone unturned. From the very start one could tell that Mike cared deeply about his customer and the product he puts out. HIs products are far superior to anything I've seen on the market. Nothing compares to the Crane Siding he put on our house or the windows he installed. Mike was also very green minded in that he suggested ways of diverting roof run off to grass or a garden on my property. Mike seamlessly coordinated the insulation of the house with his crew doing the siding. Kevin is truly a craftman at doing trim. I have never seen window or gable trim done like Kevin did our trim. This was a complex project that Mike handled with ease. Our house is incredibly more energy efficient. We also have a wonderful maintenance free deck. Everything went smoothly as expected. We truly have a new house. It was an outstanding job. The price was very very reasonable.

Installed Leaf Proof gutter guards and heated cables connected to central switches inside house.Redirected downspouts to grass in back of house and to garden in front of house. Created a greener method of directing water off of the house. Water no longer exits down the driveway. Completely transformed our house.

I was not at home when they did the job, but when I called the owner he was able to meet me on the same day. They came on time and the price that I paid them was exactly what they had quoted in the original contract. Their price was a fraction of what the other company quoted me. They did a very good job and I was very happy with the work that was done. They also cleaned up after themselves.
Description of Work: They put on new siding, 2 glass block windows, steel service door and a new gate in my patio. They also put windows on my garage and new fence in my yard.
