We spoke with Mike, I think he is the owner. We thought he was totally professional and realistic in explaining to us our choices. He would have put in storm windows, but he let us know that full replacement windows would probably be a better choice for us. He was on time, wrote everything down for us, he uses the computer to sent the quote, so you get it right away and you don't have to wait for anything in mail. It takes some time to order the door and it is a small job, so he told us we would not be a priority job until later in the season. It is taking a while, but he kept us aware of that. Update once work was finished: The door took months to order. We knew it would be a while before it was installed since the summer was full of window jobs. Fine. He arranged a time to show up and install it. They showed up and have the door and no handle. We had ordered a custom handle and it wasn't there. And there was no stock handle to use until a new handle could be ordered. Door went back on the truck and many more weeks passed until they came back. He said he would adjust the price and send a new invoice to make up for the mistake Which was without warning at 8 in the morning. The crew left the job with details such as gaps around the door frame and no strike plate for the bolt on the door, just a big hole in the wood. It was ridiculous and untidy. I emailed the owner who came back and looked at the work and assured me the crew would be back, I did not need to be home for it as they would need no access to the house. Of course they once again showed up with zero warning. And they DID need to have the inside door open to access the storm door, so my front door was wide open in November for 2 hours, just wasting heat. The job was finally done as good as it was going to get. I waited for the new invoice. And waited and waited... It showed up in December of 2013. Over a year after the work was completed. But the date on the invoice had been changed to January. It was adjusted to take $75 off for the inconvenience. I paid it because the work was done as we had contracted, but who takes over a year to ask to get paid for their work? I was very sick and in hospital for quite a while in January 2013, but when I got home after surgery I looked through all the mail and we had no invoice from him at that time. And no reminders or calls came in the eleven months before I got the invoice and paid it. I would not hire them again and am thanking my lucky stars that we had a trial run with a door before going ahead with all 29 windows in this house.

We had to replace our 40 year old roof, and as always came to Angie's List to find a contractor. We had 5 estimates and after talking it over talking it over we decided to go with Mike Zimmerlee. The roof needed to be a tear-off and the crew did a nice job on keeping the debris to a minimum. The neighbor's houses are very close, and the work-crew made sure their was no damage to the other homes. The gutters had to be removed and rehung; this is when the gutter guards were added and they work great. The job took about 4 days and the roof looks very nice. The shingles are straight and the flashing looks nice. The guys did a very good job on the final cleanup. Mike came and we did a final inspection to see if we had any concerns. Everything was OK. I would highly recommend Zimmerlee Construction for your next roof.

They were very good. Everything was excellent. We had different service people coming in from another service provider and I thought that Zimmerlee stood up well for all the people they sent. We were very satisfied with them. We will use them in the future.

This was a very big job needing a lot of detailed work. Mike was considerate, polite and neat. The job was done very well.

Prompt response to assess job and quote provided promptly. Was able to start work upon acceptance of quote. Job finished within span of 3 days. Everything done as described and all debris removed. Careful attention to both detail and to surrounding property.

We have used Mike's services before and it was a very good experience. He takes time to explain the process, recommended materials and timing. In both cases his crew showed up on time and completed the work in a couple of days. Workmanship is excellent and clean up was spotless. Couldn't tell they had been there. Mike gave a quote that included the extra's that we wanted and it was the lowest quote for the job. His knowledge an frank discussions on what should be done gave me confidence in his company. I am very pleased with the completed job.

The roof replacement went very well after some weather delays. The crew did high quality work and cleaned up daily. We have a complex roof with numerous peaks and valleys and the result in my mind is a work of art. Mike suggest some creative solutions to venting issues. He was great to work with and has a hard working crew.

As I indicated above the job was not done because my financing fell through.

They were excellent. They put down tarp before they walked into the home, which really impressed me. They cleaned up very well and they were very efficient. I will use them again in the future.

I called this company out to give an estimate. I left a message, he got back to me in about 24 hours. We set up a day to look at our home. I met him at my home, and was impressed with his knowledge. He brought some things to our attention, that the other firms did not.After leaving he mentioned he would have our proposal to us in a few days. After 10 days I called him, no answer, so I left a message, that we were looking for our quote. The guy never called us back. Its been close to 3 weeks and still no estimate. I have moved on, he needs to conduct his business better, would not recomend this firm at all.

He was friendly and available on the phone. It took a while to get someone to come out and actually fix it, though.

Mike Zimmerlee was absolutely fabulous to work with. My husband works in Madison during the week and my son was doing vision therapy in Brookfield while we live in Hartford. Mike met me in Brookfield to go over the contract, view sample shingles, and get things officially moving. He worked with the tenants to make them as comfortable as possible throughout the entire process and also worked with our management company to get access to the property. The roof on our rental is very steep and extremely close to the houses next to it. They were very profession in the precautions they took and the quality of work they did. In the middle of all this my father became sick with cancer and passed away a few months later. With all that was going on within our family, I never once had to worry about Mike or his crew. He was great at keeping in contact with me and was very prompt and responsive to my calls and questions. At the end of the project, he even met my husband on a Saturday for the final inspection since that's the only time he's in town from Madison. I can't say enough nice things about Zimmerless construction. I would highly recommend them! We were so please with their exterior work, we even hired his partner, Doug, to do some interior work and was equally thrilled. These guys are amazing! Great price, excellent customer service, and fabulous workmanship. What more can you ask for!?!?!

After many days of rain which delayed the work, they came on the first sunny day. They thought my job was important enough to get right to work even though it was a small contract. When the crew arrived they had equipment to replace the bent trim and formed a new piece of trim at no extra cost. Color matching was not a problem since all the trim is white. The nail replacement went smoothly. I had provided the nails so they would not have to go to the store at my expense. When we walked the job upon completion they noted a potential water problem at a window due to cracked caulking, and then proceeded to replace the caulking. I was very pleased with the work from start to finish. The price was fair and Mike Z. even gave me an Angie's List discount when I mentioned it.

The primary contact Mr. Douglas Bay communicated with me consistently and was very professional throughout the remodeling job. Upon agreeing to a contract Mr. Bay constantly communicaetd with me and thouroughly coordinated the starting date for the job. The handymen who completed the work were dependable and hard-wtedorking. They answered any questions I had throghout the course of the job and were courteous!! Mr. Bay continues to ask me if I am pleased with the job. I would HIGHLY recommend Zimmerlee Construction.

We found Zimmerlee on Angies List. Mike, the owner, stopped by within a day of our call, took a look at the roof and provided a detailed quote within two days. The quote was extremly professional and detailed. He included a sample of shingle he recommended and a brochure on the products warranty and properties. His price was less than two other quotes we received and his warranty period was longer. The shingles he specified were also of higher quality and had a longer estimated life than the other two contractors. He showed up on the appointed day and completed the job in two days. He cleaned up all scraps and used a magnet to scan the yard for nails. We could not tell he had even been here when he left. He called a week later to ensure we were happy with the job, and we are. Mike is very professional, personable and informative. We highly recommend him.

I called Mike to setup a visit to our home to bid on a re-side. I had read good reviews and wanted him to participate in the process. I decided to call during the big blizzard, since I was home. He said he was busy, and I agreed to him email him my contact info. I did. After another week I called to follow-up and got no response. He finally called about another week later. At that point I had already met with 3 other vendors and wasn't impressed with his responsiveness.
