I hired Wausau Homes with the understanding that my home would be completed in 90 days. On their website they recommend the professional contractors that you can hire to build your home. It is now day 261. My contractor Rick Sims (Rick Sims Home Solutions) hasn't been to my home in the last 10 days and construction is over 4 months behind. I contacted Wausau Homes regarding the poor time management, project management and financial management; as I believe he has run out of money and can't complete the job and they are not able to confirm a time frame as to when the work will be completed. After my initial complaint on September 7th, I received an email from the contractor stating that all the work would be completed by September 12th and then he threatened to put a lien on my home if I didn't pay him within 5 days of completion. My contract states I have 15 days to pay after the walk through of the home. I had garbage on my property for 4 months. Small items that were left undone for months; there's no attention to detail. Missing siding, for months. I thought I was hiring a professional. There were so many details that needed to be brought to his attention. The contractor stated the HVAC system was installed underneath the house. I have a furnace that is not in working condition with temperatures dropping soon, no AC unit and a fireplace that is sitting in the living room and is not connected. I have paid $116,000 and I'm still waiting for my home to be completed. As Wausau Homes is unable to control the time frame of the contractors they recommend or the quality of their work, I would not recommend you use them.
