We began remodeling our bathroom 3/2010 and hired Rick's Home Services (RHS) to remove a bathrub and set up new drainage for the shower. He said he could assist us by ordering and installing a frameless shower door as he had lots of experience in this area. He totally misrepresented his experience and capabilities. He said he was a licensed plumber. According to the WI Credentials website he is not licensed and, per the State of WI definition of a plumber, he should not represent himself as such. He said he had installed hundreds of shower doors. We later found out he had never installed a frameless shower door. The issues were: --Did not properly measure the area resulting in a 6 inch by 1/2 inch gap between flat panel and tile wall on lower right side. RHS tried to conceal by inserting a strip of plastic along with silicone. --Shower door not hung properly. Result was insufficient clearance for the sweeper at bottom. RHS tried to fix by cutting sweeper. Result was water leakage. --Door stopper not installed properly. As a result it came loose within a week. --Finishing piece between door & flat panel not installed. Result was water leakage. --Flat panel chipped by door hinge during his installation. RHS did not tell us. --RHS gave excuse upon excuse. Took him two weeks to contact us. Said he wrote down the wrong number. --RHS said the shower door issues were because walls weren't plumb. This was a custom door. Distributor rep and company rep said the door was not the issue as it is a "custom" door is made to fit the opening. --Took months for door to be delivered after ordering. Door finally delivered in July. Found out it was actually at distributor warehouse in April. We informed shower door company rep of situation & dissatisfaction. He took new measurements. Informed us RHS had chipped the flat panel. RHS denied he chipped the panel; however, the company rep assured us the panel was in perfect condition when delivered. A new flat panel was ordered & delivered. We hired a new installer recommented by a well-known Wisconsin shower door company. During removal of old flat panel, the new installer found water in flat panel channel. This was a result of the channel and screws not properly sealed by Rick's Home Services. The new installer also said that the shower door hinges had not been properly installed by RHS. Door, panel and original installation cost us $2500 and, inasmuch as we had to pay to have the installation comletely redone, we contacted Rick's Home Services and asked for a refund of his installation fee and any profit from the shower door. He refused. The project took a total of 8 months because of the misrepresentations and incompetence of Rick's Home Service. The new installation is perfect, we are extremely pleased and a review will be posted to regarding the company.

He was very rude and had a lack of interest in my project. He called me at 7am 3 days in a row and at 9 pm 3 days in a row. He screamed at me. He also told me that he had to deer hunt and would call me after he got back. He also wanted to charge me double to come out on the weekend. I would not use this man at all.
Description of Work: I called him several times for my plumbing needs (snaking a drain) and he would never call me back.
