After a year or so, the roof leaked in several places. He came back once and said he patched it but it still leaked. I tried for several years to contact him and left phone messages which he never returned. Last time I talked to him he said he'd "be over" to fix the roof. He never showed. He used what he called a California Weave in the valleys on our roof. A contractor told me, "That may work in California, but here in Wisconsin, it doesn't do the job. Your roof should have had flashing in the valleys. I also had some ice dam damage in the time span I was trying to reach this guy and he said he fixed the problem which he never did. He also replaced one of old stacks that let air come out of the house's 'fixtures' with a cheap replacement which now needs to be replaced. I have no idea if he even installed ice and water shield and will have to get a new contractor to determine that and install it if he short cutted there. I know I wouldn't have this guy put a roof on a dog house. Why wait this long to make a reply? I didn't know about Angie's list until my daughter told me about it a day or so ago. I'm in the process of looking for a new contractor to repaid damage from ice dams last winter and have been running into the same thing, contact but no follow up. I'm hoping Angie's list will help me find somebody reputable. I'm 83 and can't get up on my roof anymore and feel I've been more than patient in my dealings with contractors. I don't think I have any patience left.
