K C's Mudjacking

This is one of many one star reviews. I had read the poor reviews and hesitated hiring this company. I went against by best gut instincts and hired them because they had been recommended by a friend. I had two slabs of concrete that needed to be leveled. My friend had told me that the company charges about $200 per slab, which obviously would cost me about $400. I was convinced by the owner to do the entire driveway from the garage to the street for $1,000. I accepted the offer. My driveway looks absolutely terrible after the work was completed. I have 55; yes 55 three inch diameter holes in my driveway. The holes are so far off from matching my original concrete. My driveway looks like Swiss cheese. I now have at least four huge cracks in my drive. I had one small crack before the job that is now so large that it runs through three concrete slabs. It is not level. My driveway, which is not long, is the eye sore of the neighborhood. When I called to say that I was unhappy with the 55 holes in my driveway and the cracks, I was told that the holes are impossible to match and that the cracks were caused because of the poor grade of the original concrete. I ask for some type of refund. I was denied. I now can prove that that the cracks were caused because the holes are too close together. This was information came for another mudjacking company. I can say that my telephone calls were returned promptly. The owner, crew and office manager were all polite. I am now looking at paying thousands of dollars to replace my entire driveway.

Email sent to KCMudjacking: The only thing I requested was to have the side raised against the house as seen in the photo with arrows. I was told they may have to raise the adjacent one and they even marked the slabs with X’s. Yet they did the entire walk way which now has hole markings down the whole walkway. (See pictures) I am concerned about this as it has ruined the look of the ENTIRE walk way. The workers also left one of the slabs raised higher than the one next to it leaving the walkway with an area a person could easily trip on. These concerns can all be seen in the pictures. Next, the seams between the slabs look like they were not rinsed properly as the residual cement is cracking and pitting through the walkway. I am left wondering why our property was left in this manor and we were not contacted about the extra slabs or the joints between slabs. I am also seeking an explanation as to where in the contract that dumping of cement waste in and around our landscaping and bushes. I did not give permission to dump left over cement mixings into our landscaping. The area where the stuff was dumped was completely on the other side of the house from were any work was done and dumped UNDER our bushes as to be hidden. (See last Picture) How can any of this be seen as good business or OK especially when our request to have the matters described above corrected were completely ignored?

Very well. Called to leave a message ( this is how they do things). . . Called back, set up estimate. Then set a date/time to do the job. Arrived on time. Determined I did not need all that was quoted, so the price was significantly reduced. That is an honest business !

Came out in a couple of days for a quote. Started work within a time frame they quoted me when here. I didn't even know they were here until the sounds of the jack hammer started making the filler holes. Three man crew were efficient and professional. I feel they went beyond expectations by filling in an area that's always been open and been a problem with debris collecting between a step and the front porch. They cemented over the plugs and filled cracks so the walk looks almost like new. A low spot that always collects water and then ices during the winter will do so no more, Some of the 'lifts' to the slabs were 3-4 inches! It even feels different to walk on the walk now. Great job and I highly recommend K-C

To me it was strange. All communication was via phone. I told him the address and he told me the day...next I knew, my tenant called me and said work was done. Next I knew the bill shows up in the mail and I sent him a check...tada done deal

While they were here they noticed that our driveway had also sunk. They did that for an extra 150.00 while they were out. They did say that we would probably have do it again. Very professional. Good service. Would use them again.

it was nice at first but it just didn't last

First let me say I had a heck of a time finding a concrete leveler in the area- many companies are located in Milwaukee and won't make the drive, also there was very few reviews for our area. I stumbled upon this company on an internet search and have no other experience to compare them to. This was the only company that I received a response from. Other companies more north listed kenosha or southeastern wi in there websites but when I called did not want to make the drive unless I spent a certain amount and would guarantee it before they even would come for an estimate. Since I never did this before I had no idea what I would be spending so I didn't risk it with any of those places. Then this guy- the owner- came here and I just liked him. He is a plain spoken, hard working small local business owner and that is that. No fancy rep or anything and that was nice. He gave me what seemed like a reasonable bid (on the day off he even added a few things he didn't have on the quote at no cost) and said call him if I chose him. No pressure. He was polite and the work appears to be good, admittedly I wouldn't know bad work but it sure is nice looking. They came, they did there job, they cleaned up after themselves. I am happy. By the way this is a loud process maybe plan a day out if you have kids.
