Description of Work: Was to repair a small leak in basement faucet. Arrived very late, after reducing the leak in 5 minutes and charging me $65 in addition to the $49 I paid Angie's List for the service call. Leak quickly returned. I called the provider and was put off on two separate occasions. Never returned to correct the leak. Completely disappointed with the service and hidden costs.

The customer had me repair a leak on a brand new faucet. The problem is rust in the valve from the customers piping which he was advised to replace. The homeowner does not want to replace his piping because of cost. I let the customer know that more rust from the piping would over time, make the faucet leak again. When I cleaned it out , the customer and I both agreed that the leak was repaired. Three weeks later he calls me and said that it's leaking again. He said that it just started leaking by itself and that he had never used the faucet since I repaired it,which I find hard to believe. I explained that the piping needed to be replaced and he understood. He thought I should warranty the repair. I do not know of anyone who warranties anything they did not furnish. I did not furnish the faucet (or make money upon furnishing it) I'm not warranting the good working order of a faucet I did not furnish. Their is rust stuck in the valve again, as I told him would happen. He also said he would not pay for a second visit. The deal he had purchased warranted a additional fee of 65.00 which he understood . l did not take advantage of the man in any manner. We give deals on Angies list so we can build a relationship and trust with customers and to provide other services to a customer with the hope of additional work. This guy didn't want to take advantage of the other services we offer (and he needs). He just wants free work completed and is using the review board as a lever to accomplish his agenda.Were in the business to make a Money, not cater to these actions from some one trying to take advantage of us.

Description of Work: Service was fine. Installed hot water heater as one of Angie's deals. Plumber /installer was not told by his boss that this was an Angie's list deal and demanded money from my spouse. My spouse complied and paid him with an additional fee for a broken water valve that had been broken during the install-- We asked that they not cash the check but they went ahead and cashed it anyway.. To their credit they did send us a check but still charged us for the broken part. We asked Angie's list complaint department to help us but the company felt the part would have broken no matter what and that it was poorly maintained. the worst part of this was the communication between the installer and his boss. The installer never checked or called to verify an Angie's list deal-- I did not have a copy for the installer.

I usually have another man do the Angies list work However, we the man called in sick and I sent another to do the work and cover my bases. Yes, there was a communication break down with my employee. The customer was not willing to pay for the valve that had broken off in my employees hand but, do I eat that cost? Valves are made to be operated (by hand) and it broke off due to being in poor working state. I figured if I cashed the check and take the cost of the valve, (which was included on the check) and I send them back what was due to them via the coupon, I wouldn't get stiffed on the parts. (Which they said they were going to do.)
