Called for service on my lawn tractor, which was making a great deal of noise. I spoke with Diane, who was very personable and explained that they are a family business and prided themselves on their service and relationships with their customers. She scheduled a convenient time to come and pick up the tractor. Pick up and delivery charges quoted were VERY reasonable. She and her son Patch showed up on time (a few minutes early) and I showed them the problem. They immediately diagnosed the problem as a shot transmission after listening and informed me that a replaced transmission would likely not be worth the money it would cost to replace. Even though I was a dried up source of revenue, they spent a great deal of time talking to me about new mowerand options, how I might go about getting a few bucks out of the broken mower, maintenance tips, etc. Patch offered to quote a possible swap of my transmission with one from a different tractor, but made sure to warn me of the associated risks. I took them up on the quote anyway and they called me back later to say that they couldn't swap the tranny, but could put my engine on the other tractor. They advised against it, but said that if I really wanted them to they would do it. I wasn't charged for the pick up and delivery fee and had to offer to pay a portion for their time and trouble. Even with the bad news I received, I felt that the experience was the most honest, respectful, and pleasant business transaction I can recall being a part of. I will definitely do business with them in the future as the need arises.
