They also told me the lawn was a small area and they would do a second fertilization; I thought that was very considerate. They were professional, easy to talk to and affordable. Their price was a little high for the area they treated.

+ -1 moreThe workers who sprayed the lawn did not do the entire lawn. There was a visible line where they stopped. The part not treated was clearly part of our property, and the lawn looked ridiculous where not treated. Outside of that the treatment appeared to work for about a month.
Description of Work: Weed spray control for front and back lawns. They showed up and sprayed weed control.The person we spoke with on the phone was courteous and very helpful in scheduling the appointment.

+ -1 moreThey were leaving as we were coming home, and they told us they had finished spraying for all the weeds. I asked why they would do that as it was about to rain and they said we only need ten minutes for it take. It rained, I called them four days later and told them nothing was dying. He asked me to wait another five days. I then called him back and he asked if we were going to sign the contract for additional service. I said we were considering it and he said if we did he would come back and treat for the second weed treatment. He was going to come back out and look at it but I haven't heard back from him since.
Description of Work: This was for two big deals I purchased from Angie's List.

+ -1 moreI had a whole summer package with them so they came out around five times. I like the results now but initially they weren't so good. When they came out to do weed killing it seemed like it was done very spotty because some weeds died, few went away and some weeds didn't die at all. It was like a hidden mess as only twenty percent of the weeds died and eighty percent didn't so I called them. They came back out, sprayed and half the weeds died after they reapplied. In that situation it was a fertilizer and weed killer which killed a long strip of grass. It wasn't a deal break or anything but just that they were a little careless. Overall in general everything seems to be pretty good. They had pretty good pricing. I probably will use them again.
Description of Work: I used Lawns R Us Lawn Care and Landscaping probably about three weeks ago for a lawn and yard maintenance.

Description of Work: Initially we got a quote on fertilizing our lawn and Lawns R Us was definitely the most competitive. We also were quoted on dethatching our lawn and we did go ahead with them for both of these tasks. We have been very satisfied with the improvements we have seen in our lawn since we started working with them. But the most memorable experiences we have had with Jason and his team were in relation to 22 yards of mulch we had them deliver to us. For the first load of 10 yds, they arrived about 30 minutes later than originally agreed on due to issues with a truck but rather than just apologize, Jason brought 3 or 4 of his workers with him and they helped me put down the entire shipment at NO CHARGE! When he left, he took my lawn mower blades to sharpen them for me at no charge and dropped them off a couple days later. For the second load of 12 yards I called him at the last minute to see if he could send any guys over to help me put down the load and along with the delivery came 4 workers, after hours, to help me get it down within about 1.5 hours. Sure I had to pay this time, but it was well worth it! We have been blown away at his level of service and his concern for us as an account and we have not been shy about telling others about them and what they offer. If you are debating between 2 or 3 contractors to work with on your lawn or landscaping, I highly suggest you choose Jason and the team at Lawns R Us!

+ -1 moreAs of June 24 the company has failed to do the weed and feed Now the clover, creeping charlie and other weeds have gone to seed creating more problems for next year. I called June 13 to inquire as to when my lawn would be fertilized and was told that he was doing lawns as we spoke. I am still waiting. I called today to cancel the non service. I selected this company based on its rating and award. I am greatly dissappointed and hope this has not happened to others.
Description of Work: I contracted to have crabgrass control, weed and feed and fall fertilzing. The crabgrass control was only done after I called to inquire as it was getting late in the spring. I was assured that it was not to late for the application. Now my lawn is full of crabgrass. I contacted them about the crabgrass problem and was told they would do a spot treatment the week of 7-18. As of 7-24 I have not heard from them and did the tratment myself. I also had to contact them in mid June to inquire about the weed and feed service. It was finally done that week but I am unhappy with the results.

+ 0 moreThese guys did the first application and then didn't return for the dandelions until I complained. They removed a tree, but didn't remove the stump until I complained but never filled the hole and seeded, as contracted. The pruning was never done... Finally got tried of having to complain to get them to do anything and terminated the contract.
Description of Work: contracted for lawn fertilizing, tree removal and general pruning.

+ 1 moreWe were looking for someone to do the grading and put in some plant beds around the house. When Jason first came out he also noticed a problem with the way the downspouts were connected to the drain tiles. He was going to fix this problem by putting reducing couplers on the drain tiles. Once the work got started the downspouts turned out to be more of a problem than originally thought. Jason had to dig out and replace all of the drain tiles around the house and put in new ones. We were pleased with this work. The beds and the grading are both done and we're waiting for Jason to finish up some last details but so far they are to our liking. We were also having problems with our lamp post in the front yard and Jason went ahead and dugout a trench for the electrician to be able to run new wiring. Sometimes they are a little slow to respond but other times I can call and Jason is at my house with 15 minutes. On a couple of things I feel Jason has gone over and above and they did come in under their original estimate. So far we are please with Jason and Lawns R US. We have requested Jason give us a quote on putting in the shrubs and trees. We'll follow up with another review if and when the work is done.
Description of Work: We needed some landscape grading done and wanted some plant beds put in around the house.

+ -1 moreHe put the lawn treatment on. I asked him for an estimate for landscaping work. He took the measurements but never got back to me regarding a price. He seemed like a nice person. I talked to him when he did the first application. He came really late for the 2nd application. It was really cold and the ground was near frozen. I am not sure if that is normal. I have never had my lawn treated before. I bought the house a few years ago and it is a real fixer-upper and I wanted to get rid of the weeds. The grass is just starting to green up so I am not sure if the treatments are working or not. I was disappointed he never got back to me regarding the landscaping estimate. I think he is mainly into lawn treatment and really doesn't want to get into the landscaping part. He was very punctual. He did the first application the day he came. He came back 2 months later to do the 2nd application, which I thought was supposed to be done after 1 month. I don't think it was very professional of him to not get back to me regarding the estimate. He took all the measurements and never responded.

+ 1 moreI called the firm and requested that someone come and give us a bid. On the scheduled date the representative was running late and gave us a call shortly before his scheduled arrival time to let us know he was on the way and would be a few minutes late. He spent time with my husband and me to discuss each of our concerns and needs. He seemed quite passionate about his work. We received a very competitive proposal, although it took a little longer than we expcted. We went back and forth a couple of times to get the proposal the way we wanted it. Once we accepted a portion of the fall plan, they completed the work in a timely fashion. They cleaned up after themselves and completed everything that had been agreed upon. Our plan is to have them provide additional services in 2011. During the tree removal there was minor damage to our garage that we are waiting for them to repair. They have agreed to do the repairs. We haven't gotten confirmation of the time frame, but we aren't concerned. We are confident that it will be addressed in the spring.
Description of Work: We had several large trees removed, various bushes / shrubs removed, plant beds trimmed and new evergreens planted. We plan to have them return in the spring for yard service and on-going yard/tree maintenance.

+ 1 moreThey do try and contact you often to find out how everything is going. They also make sure they contact us for the holiday lights and find out how soon we need the lights put up for the season.
Description of Work: They mow our lawn once a week. They help pick up anything in the yard that may left behind while they are mowing so they don't mow over it and they do not complain about it. They have also put up our Christmas lights for the holidays, take them down and they store them for us over the winter.

Description of Work: They fertilized and put down a broad leaf weed treatment. We had a special deal of the day through Angie's List. This deal included the treatment and for them to come back for another treatment and an aeration. They got us on their schedule the same day I called.

+ 1 moreI like everything about them. When you call them for an estimate, they will come right out. They also took care of some spider mites I had in a tree and they treated that as well.
Description of Work: They have been doing weekly grass cutting. They do the lawn service/fertilization in the front sinice I have organic in the back and I take care of the organic in the back. They pulled weeds in the whole yard. The grass cut is $40 a week, the fertilization is $124 a year and the weed pulling was $240.00.
