Description of Work: We hired Jason and Ben to paint our barn's metal roof and concrete block sidewalls and some outbuildings. The job took more than twice as long as estimated and they did not give us notice in advance when they took days off here and there. They were also often late risers and early to retire! The cost for the job was inexpensive compared to other estimates. They both told us the job is guaranteed for all reasons for 10 years, and that the guarantee is backed up by Hallman-Lindsay paint company. They even put in writing and signed their names on our contract, which we still have. They touted that if the paint was not adequate, they would be paid again by H-L to come and redo it. These guys are quite likable and we were happy throughout the work, even with the lack of professionalism--we have a dairy farm, not an office. Unfortunately, the very day after the job was finished, without the sun glaring on it, it was easy to see several areas with inadequate coverage. We knew this was due to them spraying the paint on in high winds--which we had questioned during the work, and they assured us they were able to compensate for wind with their equipment. We photographed and texted the pictures to Jason's cell phone--which we had spoken on regularly throughout the hiring and working process. He did not ever respond to voice or text messages. We mailed a letter to both Jason, who lives in Withee, WI and Ben, who lives in Park Falls, WI. We tried for three months. Ultimately, we never heard from them again. The metal roofs all have problems that have continued to grow. The concrete actually looks great. If these guys had come back and stood behind their work, I would be recommending them. With the way they responded (or rather didn't respond), I would not recommend them.
