I contacted Mr. Eggleston to see what I should do. He let me know that the issue was not from the private contractor I had hired, he said that the skylights were not fully or correctly installed from the day of the house build. As part of Mr. Eggleston replacing them, I was told I should have have received a special deal since it was the fault of builders. In the end it was at least 3 times more than it should have been. I talked with other contractors and they said it didn't look like I got a deal at all. After new skylights were installed I asked about the 10 year guarantee that Pella offers and he told to just let him know if I had a problem and there were absolutely no leaks guaranteed. I had another issue with them leaking again about a year later. I called up Pella, the provider of the skylights, to confirm the 10 year guarantee. They said they do offer that but that they would have to be installed by a reputable contractor who knew what they were doing and that if turned out they were not properly installed than there is no guarantee. I contacted the Mr. Eggleston to inform him about the leak. He said he would come out which he did once but he chose to come out on a day I specifically told him I would not be home. He has not kept his word to come back out in over a year. I had to find a reputable roofer fix the problem. The roofer explained that they were not properly flashed or sealed.
