+ -1 morePrice quoted was the priced billed; installation crew helpful and friendly and put up with our annoying dog. No complaints at all--the only mild complaint was our not receiving a phone call to confirm their appointment but I attribute this to their low key approach.

+ -1 moreI called Tarkenton Brothers at 1am on a Saturday for emergency service, which their website indicated they provided "24/7". I was instructed to leave a message and would be called back.They did not call back until late the next morning. I would not consider them to provide emergency service.

All in all, we've been pleased and will continue using the services of Tarkenton Brothers for all of our Heating and Air Conditioning needs.
Description of Work: We've been doing business with Tarkenton Brothers Heating and Air Conditioning for over 10 years. In that time, they've installed two furnaces, one air conditioner, and one whole-house dehumidifier, in addition to making routine and emergency visits. (Our house happens to have two furnaces, one for each floor.) Sorry, I don't have costs for each and every service throughout this 10+ year period, or I would post an itemized list, but my husband gave me a very rough estimate of $8000 or more. It's a small company, owner-operated, so we've always dealt with Brad Tarkenton himself and/or one of his trusted employees. Mr. Tarkenton has been very responsive and has been great in emergencies--which we've appreciated, especially in Wisconsin frigid temps and even in the dog days of summer. One July, the heat and humidity were miserable during a time of my elderly parents' visit, so we had to run the air conditioner. Of course, we ended up needing emergency service and Mr. Tarkenton was here to make sure my Mom didn't suffer.

+ -1 moreThe estimate was pretty comparable to other ones we had received. The one thing that concerned me was that I didn’t get an estimate for how much the actual service was going to cost. It was a little difficult to compare it to the other ones, but it seemed to be in line. I did not get as much information as I would have liked. The estimate wasn’t for the hours that they’d be working and the charges for the parts and everything. I had trouble scheduling as well. I used someone else to get the work done.
Description of Work: I got Tarkenton Brothers to give me an estimate on a furnace and air conditioning system.

Description of Work: We used Tarkenton Brothers to install an air-conditioning system and seasonally they come out and tune up the air-conditioner or furnace. The last time we used them was a month ago to give us an estimate to install an air-conditioner.
