TERRY'S UPHOLSTERY

We were in need of reupholstering and repair to our sofa sleeper. I called and Terry was very helpfull in looking over th e sofa to see if it had any structural damage so we could decide if it was worth reupholstering. He came to our house to look it over. After a discussion and an estimate, we made arrangements to have the work done. Terry then picked up the sofa to take to his shop. Terry was also helpful in showing us a large variety of material samples that would be in our price range. Our children and grandchild were coming home for the holidays and Terry knew this. He informed me his schedule was tight to get it done in time but would do his best. Terry did have it done just in time for my company to utilize the sofa. It turned out great and looks like a new sofa! When I called Terry for updates, he seemed very busy and was not always around, but always returned my calls promptly. I regret that I had to update my original information. Along with the sofa we had a footstool that matched another sofa by use of a upholstered slipcover. I stressed several times that the original slip cover to match our other sofa be saved (we sometimes use it with that sofa when company comes) and to make us one like it with the same material as the sofa being recovered. That way we could put whichever slipcover on the footstool to match whatever sofa we were using it with. Terry had informed us that he would try to get the sofa done before the holidays as stated above, but not the footstool. We agreed. Well our sofa was delivered in Nov.of 2012. He stated at that time he would have it done for us right after the new year. Since that time we were promised the footstool on several occasions. Finally in June we told him enough promises, we want the footstool done now! We received it finally in June. The problem was he destroyed our original slipcover (against our specific instructions) and he did not make us a slip cover as originally requested - he said he lost our instructions. We had already paid for this service back in Nov 2012. He promised us he would at least make us the slip cover to match our newly upholstered sofa immediately after the 4th of July 2013. We've made a couple calls since then. Still not done and I don't expect I will ever see it. Also the sofa is missing a flap of material that is supposed to protect the cushion from wear from the metal bar. He was going to do that right after the 4th as well. You guessed it! It is still not done. My recommendations to use this business would be get everything clearly written out, not pay for the work until it is all done and don't expect it to be done in a timely manner unless you want to be frustrated.
