We met with the owner of the Today's Tree SVC at the job site and he gave us a verbal quote of $3,000.00 to clear the site of trees and brush. Midway through the job, I asked for more trees to be removed. The owner gave us a verbal quote of $700.00 more, for a total of $3,700.00 for the job. The tree service had equipment problems and my excavating contractor had to help them move some of the larger trees using his large excavator. This assistance was at my expense. The job was eventually completed and they did a good job of removing the trees and brush. But when I got the invoice from our contractor, Today's Tree SVC portion of the invoice was $1,645.00 more than their verbal quote. I complained to our contractor and they told me that they would "look into it". I foolishly paid the complete invoice, thinking that our contractor would make good on the $1,645.00 over charge by Today's Tree SVC. That was a mistake. We never saw a refund, a credit or an adjustment and we were out the money. We contacted our attorney and he said that it would cost us more to fight the case than we would collect because "verbal contracts" may or may not be enforcable. The lesson is to not accept verbal quotes from Today's Tree SVC and if the quote is written, make sure there is a phrase in the quote saying "not to exceed" a certain dollar amount. To conclude the story, during this process, I also asked the owner of Today's Tree SVC to remove a dying willow tree at an adjoining location. There was no extra travel time involved. He verbally quoted me $200.00 for the job but invoiced me for $250.00.

The process of finding a tree trimmer that wasn't outrageously expensive was difficult. They were the cheapest and they did a superb job, fast, professional, and punctual.

I would recommend them.

All the work was done in one day.
