Got a education on costs of materials , vendor was very nice and explained the pros and cons of all choices, and directed me to another resource because he thought I could do much better than hiring his firm due to the small size of the job and his backlog of jobs . I was very pleased with the way it came out. He did not have to educate me but I am grateful that he did.

We got several quotes for this job and Wolf was very competitive. The salesperson was very knowledgeable and honest. He showed up a couple of days after the driveway was done and looked it over with me, making sure everything was to my satisfaction. All of the guys from the tear-out crew to the pavers were very polite and professional. The job was done quickly and the area was left very clean. I would definitely recommend and use again.

The reason we were having the driveway replaced was because we have a low area that created a skating rink every winter. Jim, the estimator, was prompt and came at the appointment time. He was a very friendly guy and measured the driveway and told me he would send us the bid in the mail. Since this was our first bidder, I was unaware of some of the problem areas that should have been addressed that weren't. Other bidders later made me aware of problems I had to consider. To start with, Jim's bid was for a 5600 square foot driveway when everybody else had a bid of around 46-4700 square feet. The later bids corresponded with bids I had received to have the driveway seal coated. There was no mention of the resulting low area that would occur where the driveway meets the sidewalk after they pitched the driveway for proper drainage, resulting in the need to have the sidewalk mudjacked. I was merely told that any grades would be set by laser transit. There was no mention that pitching the driveway for drainage would result in the asphalt being much higher on one side necessitating several yards of topsoil to backfill the area. This heavy topsoil had to be brought in and staged prior to paving so I would not have to carry the 12 yards of dirt manually. There was also a problem with some ornamental yews that had grown over the driveway and had to be removed. To top it off, on a $10,000 contract a provision was added that allowed them to charge another $6200 for additional crushed stone to fill soft areas if it was needed. In the end I decided to utilize another paving contractor that brought all of these problems up in the planning stage rather than as an afterthought at the completion of the job.

Everything went well. Delayed a little by all the rain we had, but once the job was started it went very quickly and smoothly. We were very pleased with the job and would recommend them highly. Very quick to respond to any questions we had.

Wolf estimater came to home to give estimate. He spent enough time and effort to give a good quote that wouldn't have surprise charges later. We accepted. Preparation crew dug up old concrete driveway and hauled it away. They dug up parts that hadn't had driveway before and hauled away the top soil. They filled and graded using road bed mix. This prep took about a day and a half. Asphat crew came and in 4 hours poured, leveled, rolled and finished the whole driveway. It is exactly what we asked for. No unexpected charges for anything.

They were very professional, they were easy to work with. They were on time and prompt. He was very personable and friendly. They did a good job on what they did.

Very prompt response, turned the proposal around quickly, excellent communication and follow up during the job. They weren't the lowest bid, but they were very reasonable and very professional. They did a quality job and the driveway looks great. Jim May was great to work with too.
