I couldn't be happier with the high-quality workmanship and professionalism Dan displayed. This was a project that many providers didn't want to take and I am so glad I found Dan. Dan has decades of experience and knows the difficulties of older homes and expertly assessed the constraints and executed the job in a timely fashion. Would HIGHLY recommend!

Work done was perfect! To make sure I don't have any issues when I sell my house, he pulled in my city building inspector and a building engineer. He followed their recommendation and received their final inspection approval. Dan kept me informed every step of the way. He was very transparent and was determined to do the job right! I couldn't ask for a better professional. I have him on speed dial! I highly recommend using him!

Don was on time, very clear on his explanation on what & how to job would be accomplished. Quality of his work was outstanding. It was great. He came with & fully outfitted truck.

Coincidentally in July, we were having the exterior of our home painted. I had informed the painting crew chief to leave the porch railing alone since I was having it redone in August. However, a day later I came home & found that one of the painters didn't get the message. He went ahead & fixed & replaced the bad wood of the porch railing & painted it (btw @ no extra cost). It is now mid-July & I immediately called Dan & explained the situation & that I no longer required his services. Asked him if he could refund my $500.00 & that I understood if he needed to take a small charge for the bid. Dan stated to me that wasn't necessary as he had not purchased any supplies/materials for our job at that point. He went on to say he would have his wife (co-owner) send me a check for my $500.00. However, when the check arrived it was for $420.00 & $80.00 was removed for administrative fees. When I called Dan to ask why & reminded him of our previous conversation he said it was out of his hands that his wife makes those decisions. Don't know about this carpenter's work...but I do know, he lied to me & his word can't be trusted. **UPDATE** On August 31st, I did receive, from Dan's Quality Craftsmanship LLC, the remainder of the refund that I was due.

This is our second time working with Dan and we'd definitely work with him again. He hooked us up with a great designer for the new bathroom, and together, they created a beautiful new master bath for us. All of his sub-contractors did a fantastic job. Dan is a perfectionist, so everything was completed with great accuracy and detail. And, he kept in mind our budget!

Prompt response to call for estimate - reasonable estimate for work - work scheduled and performed ans promised. Excellent workmanship & cleanup.

We had multiple odd jobs around the house and Dan did a wonderful job with all of them. He was thorough, detail-oriented and very knowledgeable, and problem-solved a lot of things for us.

Fantastic! Dane came in on time and upon inspection, told me I could remove the window myself and take to a glass shop to replace for minimal cost. He spent time showing me how to take the window in and out and even came back later when it was stuck. Previous quotes were $600 so he's the first to show me how easily I could do it myself and, he provided a couple glass shops I could call. Super nice. Super helpful. This is the kind of vendor you expect (but sadly don't always see) on Angie's list!

It went extremely well. He was prompt in answering inquiries and got started on the job quickly. He was also quick to explain detours from the original plan (like when he had to have a heating person come and move a cold air return). He was also on time.

Can't say enough good things about the overall process, from scheduling, quoting, installation and cleanup. Dane's did great work taking out the old windows, installing the new, caulking and replacing the trim. I will certainly be calling them again when we replace the doors.

Great. Dan was personable and fixed it beautifully. He was able to salvage the siding and replaced the z bar with top quality cedar that will weather the harsh Wisconsin weather.

Dan is the most amazing craftsman. You will not find a more skilled and thorough carpenter for the price. For the first job of $700, he cut a hole in the wall to install an electronic dog door. It required deciphering specs from a special wall insert kit ordered online, then installation. He simply readjusted the placement of the wall wiring to the side, instead of calling an electrician to rewire, which many carpenters might have done, saving us hundreds of course. And he beautifully and seamless installed the door, insulating and caulking to keep any water out from the outside. It cost less than half of our original idea of getting a custom storm door and installing it in that, so we were of course thrilled.? The second job required Dan to drill new holes in the metal of the bar that holds the hinges that connect the storm door to the house. He beautifully did that, again saving us probably thousands because we thought we were going to have to buy a new storm door and have it completely reinstalled. Our old storm door was perfectly good; it had been caught by the wind and tore off the hinges. So we saved money and the planet! If you can get Dan do it because you'll never find a better deal. Plus great to work with; cheerful, professional, on time, everything you would want!? We are now going to have him completely rebuild our porch.

Called Dane's and inquired about having my front porch screen door taken off for the season and to have my "winter" storm door put up. Although their schedule was full for the day I called, the owner and his son did squeeze me in on their way home that afternoon. They did say it would be around dinner. They showed up promptly around 5:30PM, had the summer door down and the winter door up in no time. I was pleasantly surprised when the owner said it was such a quick job (not even 5 minutes) he was not going to charge me. I offered to pay $50 for his time and he said "no". I thought that was super nice. You don't hear about vendors like this anymore. I have Dane's on my list for other work that may need to be done in my home. Thank you very much for the awesome service Dane's!

Prior to removing a chimney that ran through a second floor bedroom and kitchen, I had Dan Flor (business owner) over to remove existing crown and floor moldings and door and window trim. This first phase of the project was acceptable. In the second phase, after the chimney was removed by a different contractor, Dan returned to rough in the wall cavities and floor cavities in preparation for blue board and hardwood flooring, respectively. Dan's subcontractor did less than quality work in my mind. I had to ask him to remove a couple wall stringers because they were not flush with existing joist work which meant there would be problems when it came to hanging blue board. A corner pilaster was not built to my specifications even though I specifically showed Dan and subcontractor exactly what I wanted. The subcontractor carelessly buried two bx electrical cables under the new sub floor. The subcontractor billed for hours that were not worked. There was a 35% surcharge on all materials purchased by subcontractor. Dan said he adds an 18% surcharge for all material, but didn't seen to take responsibility for his subcontractor adding on 35%. I was never told of subcontractor's markup beforehand. Subcontractor parked rundown old vehicle that he was having issues with on the new slab in front of my garage. The vehicle leaked fluid all over slab which he then tried to remove with power grinder. This entire operation seemed less than "quality." Dan agreed to remove the hours that could not be accounted for. Dan also offered to rebuild the corner pilaster but I declined his offer. Dan reduced the 35% material surcharge included by subcontractor. Dan got frustrated by my questions and push back and decided to remove himself from the project. Dan did charge approximately $115 to run around to suppliers and find matches for window and door trim. He got what he considered a good deal from a cabinetmaker who later refused to fulfill the wood order for me because Dan was no longer involved. In the end, I was able to have door and window trim made to specifications at 1/2 the cost of what Dan was quoting. In retrospect the entire fiasco worked out best for both parties. Dan no longer was involved in project and I ended up with a much higher quality contractor who charged $15 less per hour. The project is beautiful but not due to Dane's Quality Craftmanship.

Dan was a pleasure to work with. Very professional and personable. Dan was on time on the day of service. Very focused on getting the job done. He exceeded my expectations in the repair of the rotted storm window frames. His ability saved me a tremendous amount of money to replace all the storm windows on the house. The payment process is electronic and secure. I will definitely utilize Dane's Quality Craftmanship LLC again.

Prompt bid. Start date & conception as planned. Completion accomplished despite heavy traffic usage at site. Friendly, courteous, prompt return for problems (not many)

Came on time, was reasonably priced, and stayed on the job.
