I would recommend getting quotes from other companies and going with the other company. I had my AC replaced and they guaranteed their work. My system kept failing and I would have to keep calling them over every few months to service it and the charges kept pilling up. I contact another company and they were able to fix it for a fraction of the cost (about 10% of what they were going to charge) and we have not had any issues since the other company fixed the issue. Thielmann group seems like a bunch of inexperienced people that try to milk you for money. I complained and someone from the company called me directly and was very aggressive and unprofessional on the phone. Do yourself a favor and find a different company for your needs. I regretted going to them since my family suffered several hot summer days and cold winter nights

We have used Roth for almost 9 years. We have annual furnace cleanings done and we also had a central ac unit installed by them in 2009. I've done price comparisons on the annual service and when we had the ac installed, Roth is a little more expensive but we stayed with them due to a good reputation. In November 2015, we had an annual furnace tune up and the service guy (same one that's come to our house as along as I can remember) told us that the furnace needed a pressure switch that he did not have with him and the company would have to order. He told us, and wrote on the invoice, that when the part came in the company would come out and put the part on quick and there would only be a charge for the part, not the labor. Well life happens and time goes on and Roth never called us and we forgot about the part needing to be replaced. December 2016, Roth came out to do the annual tune up, same service technician arrived on time. I should mention that we had to schedule an appointment 2 weeks out from when I called (which was before the holidays). I thought that was a bit long but whatever. Anyhow, the first thing the technician asked was if anyone ever called about the part or came out and put a new one on, of course the answer was no. About 15 minutes later the tech told us that the pressure switch actually broke when he touched it and he'd have to leave to go get the part (which was apparently at the shop) and come back to put it on. He came back a little less than an hour later and put it on and finished the work. A week later the bill arrived and it was $318.91, $108 for the tune up (this was what I normally expect and that's fine), $138 for the pressure switch (way over priced, I found new ones online for about $40), and $56 for the labor to put the switch on. I don't normally complain about bills or fees but in this situation I felt like I was being charged just to see how much they could get out of me. The $56 fee I found to be totally uncalled for. I called their office and was told that it was impossible that I was ever told last year that the labor fee would be waived to replace the part. I then asked why I was getting charged when the tech was already here and it wasn't our fault he didn't (or office staff) didn't check the service record before coming and bring the part with him to avoid leaving and coming back. The lady actually agreed with me but insisted I was never told last year that there would be no fee. Basically called me a liar, I find this to be totally unacceptable. The office lady said she would take $25 off of my bill, and asked if that made it better, I responded that it did not make it better, in fact it was almost worse because I felt like they were now admitting to the inconsistencies I mentioned. Anyhow I'll pay the bill but it's time to move on to a new company, which I stated on the phone and the response I got made me feel like Roth was indifferent whether I stayed with them or not. Business must be good to be able to just loose long time customers and act like it was not a big deal. Loosing a customer over an unjustified $56 labor charge and maybe another $50 for the over priced part (I'll say 50 because I know companies need to make a little on the part and that's still letting them double their money on the part) is just bad business. Well I hope they feel good about loosing a long time customer over $100. If they would have continued to treat us right we would be in the market for a new furnace in the next few years, oh well.

Response from Roth Heating Co Inc
Roth Heating is genuinely concerned that Mr. [Member Name Removed] feels that he was overcharged. We felt that a half hour labor to pick up and install a new part was a reasonable charge. There are so many different pressure switches for the many brands of furnaces and we cannot carry every one on the trucks. The cost of the pressure switch was also correct for an OEM part from our local distributor. There may be someone online selling the part at a lower cost but we buy our parts locally (and it costs us substantially more than the $40 mentioned). I did offer Mr. [Member Name Removed] a discount of $25 towards the labor because I was trying to compromise between paying no labor and the $56 (1/2 hour) he was charged. I must charge labor for additional repairs and a markup on parts to be able to remain in business. I truly am sorry to lose Mr. [Member Name Removed] as a customer and I am sorry for the billing misunderstanding.

The service tech discovered that the cold air return system was NEVER FINISHED in our newer home! Thus the odd smell, it was actually pulling air from underneath our whirlpool tub in the masterbath. Obviously, we wanted this fixed ASAP. The serviceman said they would call to set up a time. A WEEK later we received a call from a woman saying that THEY WERE TOO BUSY TO DO THE WORK! That we would receive a call back in a couple of weeks when they weren't SO busy and then maybe they could fit us in. Seriously? It's Now OCTOBER, people (that was July)! A couple of weeks has turned into SEVERAL months and we've not heard from them. I will never call this company or do business with them again. We live in close proximity to Roth, We paid the bill immediately (as in to the serviceman on site, before he even left). So, my only guess is that maybe they aren't equipped to do the work? I'm sure they'll come back all whatever and say they just "forgot" about us. Yeah, right. There are many other HVAC people, some really great HVAC people in Oak Creek, Racine, Franklin, So. Milwaukee, and they think my money is just as green as everyone else's. PS = your fees, outrageous.

Provider installed a new furnace for us in 2012 and cleaned ductwork. They also looked over the AC unit that was still performing, but advised that the unit was over 25 years old, not very efficient, and gave us a quote for replacement. We opted to let it go for another year because the furnace replacement was all our bank account could stand for the moment. The following summer (2013) the AC unit finally died. We called Roth along with several other providers. Roth responded immediately and had the unit installed before some of the other providers even returned our call! To be fair, Roth only had to update their 2012 quote, and it was a very hot stretch of weather, where all of the providers were probably very busy. Prices were comparable with the quotes we received from other vendors. We have used Roth, pretty exclusively since we moved into our home in 1983, as they are a local business and we like supporting local businesses. They have troubleshot and fixed problems with both the old furnace and the old AC unit before installing the new equipment. They are always prompt, courteous and take care of the issues with the first visit. Highly recommend this provider!!

Six months after buying our home, we discovered a leak in the refrigerant line to our A/C unit after the condenser froze solid and it began leaking through the ceiling. Looking around our home, there were and quot;Rothand quot; stickers on the boiler, heat exchanger, and A/C unit. Therefore, I assumed they installed and/or serviced these units previously and called them to evaluate. The folks from Roth were fairly responsive to my initial call and were able to come take a look in 1-2 business days. I was informed it was beyond repair and that I should consider replacing the entire unit, which they would send someone out to quote. In the meantime, the technician recharged 1/5 of my refrigerant and he recommended I crawl into our attic and and quot;attempt to unclog the drain pipeand quot; so as to stop the leaky ceiling. It struck me as odd that he was unwilling to perform this seemingly simple task, as I was already paying him just to look around. Still, the tech left and I was stuck with (what I felt to be) a healthy bill for doing little to no work. After he headed out, I followed his instructions and crawled my 6'4and quot; self into a 4'3and quot; high attic with plans to unclog the drain pipe. This is when things got fun. While attempting to maneuver around the condenser, the chains suspending it from the rafters let loose resulting in a ~300 lb object falling under the weight of being frozen solid, with me following shortly thereafter (another ~200 lb) through the ceiling. A few bruises and abrasions later, I heard a wicked and quot;hissingand quot; coming from the condenser, which I soon realized was the refrigerant (which had just cost me $250+) escaping its container. I immediately called the technician who said and quot;Oh, well I'm not surprised. That's why I didn't want to crawl around up there myself.and quot; Seriously? If you anticipated this happening, why would you not share that information with me, not to mention recommending I attempt to fix the problem myself!?! Then came the businessman with two quotes for replacement, ranging from $7-12K. Ultimately, I went with another company who performed the same work with a very comparable, quality product, for ~$5K. Needless to say, I won't be using Roth for my heating or cooling needs in the future.

Of 4 companies I called for emergency furnace repair at 2:00am on Sunday, Roth was the only response where I immediately spoke with someone (as opposed to a recording with promises to call back). I was assured that a Tech would call me back, which occurred approx 5 minutes later. After talking me through some troubleshooting actions, he was able to identify the likely cause. Although he didn't have immediate access to the part needed to fix my furnace, he assured me he would get one in a few hours and fix it. True to his word, he arrived with the part and fixed the furnace by 7:30am. I was extremely satisfied with the service and responsiveness of the folks at Roth during my outage.

The air conditioner stopped working and I called Roth to have a technician come out for service. They were able to accommodate our schedule and the tech showed up on time. Austin (the tech) replaced the part but it did not solve the problem. he then further diagnosed the problem and replaced the circuit board, This as well did not fix the problem. Austin then inspected the ventilation system and noted a disconnect near the roof. He corrected the disconnect and reviewed the problem - it was solved. He visited me 3 days in a row and charged me the normal service fee plus 15 minutes of labor. Fantastic service, responsiveness, follow up, and an overall good person. There should be more people in the service repair industry like him. A+
