I approached the owner of this company, John Laplante, at the site of a roof job he was doing in the neighborhood. I hired him to replace the roof on our duplex. I paid half up front for the job. From that point forward everything about the job was handled in the worst way possible. The crew started the job and worked for a couple days then disappeared for weeks. Laplante was hard to reach and did not return calls. He offered up every excuse you can imagine for not moving the job along. The guys he actually put on the roof were loud and the neighbors complained that they would use colorful language all day in loud voices. The job took a month. After the roof was done the dumpster sat out front for days. I paid the balance. He was to replace some rotten boards on the garage fascia and contract the gutters. He said he would complete the work within the week. Instead he disappeared again. He left ladders and ramps in the yard for a monthh and did not return my calls. I finally got through to him after six weeks. I asked if he was going to finish the work he was paid for and he hung on me. This guy calls his company AJ Home Improvements now. John LaPlante will jerk you around at every opportunity.

When I asked him if he was going to finish the work he'd been paid for, he hung up on me. His roofing business has been called B & J Roofing and other names in the past. John LaPlante will jerk you around in every way possible. If you give him the benefit of the doubt and treat him with respect as I did, he will lie and mislead you at every opportunity.
