There are a number of companies/individuals in the area advertising that they do this type of work, however, I don't know anyone in this town or the area, so this was an entirely blind hire -- I didn't even meet Mr. Dahl until the end of the job. I am pleased that I trusted my instincts on this hire. Mr. Dahl quoted a price for the overall job, versus a price per hour. This was a more comfortable method for my budgeting considerations, as the property was vacant and no one else would be present while the work was being done, hence there would be no means for me to reconcile hours logged or progress from day to day had I chosen a contractor who was working by the hour. Mr. Dahl was extremely proactive in communicating his progress and took great care to consult me if he had any question about my expectations. His work was meticulous, he was considerate of the deadline for completion, and he left the property in move-in condition -- including disposing of all the wallpaper, which must have filled quite a few large garbage bags. He was very professional, flexible, and a trustworthy individual to work with.
Description of Work: Note price includes cost of multiple gallons of Sherwin Williams paint. Job entailed removing excessive amount of wallpaper which was professionally installed (even outlet covers and switchplate covers were wallpapered) from living/dining room, foyer, and hallway; and removal of wallpaper borders from a bedroom and bathroom. Priming and painting living/dining room, foyer, hallway, bedroom, and bathroom (2 coats of paint with sanding in between coats). Entailed removing vertical window blinds, and all blind hanging components/brackets from three windows/walls and filling/repairing the holes prior to painting (blinds were not going to be re-used). Removed towel bars and toilet paper holders from walls of two bathrooms and filled/repaired holes prior to painting (because these items were also not going to be re-installed).
