They were very quick to start my lawn treatments, even though I called them late in the season. My grass looked much better.

Within the first hour I received a call at work asking what the plant with the white flowers was, they did not want to pull the wrong plants. This should have been my clue to cancel the job and send them home. I arrived home from work around 3pm and two workers were still hard at work moving mulch. They proceeded to ask me a few questions while I walked around. I pointed out some weeds that were not pulled. They stated they did not know what they were so left them. Also showed them buckthorn and popple growing through the shrubs that needed to be pulled out. Showed them the difference in the leaves so they could identify them. Pointed out garlic mustard that needed to be pulled. They finished mulching and stated they would return in the morning to finish up. They asked if I wanted another small patch of Sumac removed. I stated that, yes, it was all to come out per contract.Received a call next day around 9am that they were being attacked by birds and wanted to know what to do. They were going to leave and come back when the birds finished nesting. I stated that was fine. They called back about an hour later and said they had finished .When I arrived home that day and walked around I noticed that they had pulled all the weeds, buckthorn and popple that I had pointed out but left other areas with the same issue alone. I called Bryan and asked him to stop by. He came by about an hour or so later and I walked him through and showed him my concerns. I stated that if I needed to be there to point out the weeds and invasive species I might as well do it myself. He said they would come back and take care of it. About a week later I came home to a bill in the front door. I walked around and there were still weed and buckthorn in the shrubs. I sent in partial payment stating that the remainder would be paid when the job was complete. I never heard a word for two weeks. I could not wait any longer. The Canadian thistle was back as strong as ever. This weekend, 6/30/2012 I spent over 6 hours completing the job and had a pickup full of dead branches. I sprayed all the weeds and hauled all the cuttings to the recycling center.Today I arrived home to an invoice in the mail for the balance of my contract. No acknowldgement that they had not completed the job and had done a poor job.The guys who were here worked hard, I'm sure, but they were not knowledgeable enough to be doing the job that the contract was for. This company is probably good at cutting grass and snow plowing. I would not use them for anything especially landscaping.Received a phone call from Bryan today 7/6/2012 regarding a message I left him several days ago that final payment would be made but that I was not satisfied with the work performed. He stated that they had come back and spent over two hours cutting and hauling a ton of crap away. Wish he had notified me that they were coming back. He stated they cut out everything that I pointed out to him. They probably did but nothing else. I told him I spent 6 hours this weekend cutting and weeding and he stated that these things will keep coming back. That's true, but look at the pictures. These did not grow to this size or die in 1 - 2 weeks.Sorry for the long post, hope this report helps someone else in making their decision on who to hire.
Description of Work: Job was to go through shrubs, trees and flowers on my berm, approximately 10' x 120' , and remove all weeds, invasive plants, trim all dead branches and overgrowth out of shrubs. Also remove any remaining Sumac on the berm. Also moved and spread 8 yards of mulch supplied by me. Invasive plants were to include Canadian thistle, garlic mustard, popple, sumace, creeping charlie, crown vetch, etc.Bryan stated they spray the Canadian thistle and have had good luck with killing it.
