Great. The installation team was prompt and courteous. We have a narrow yard and Scott was really helpful in determining ways to solve our drainage problems.

We have an annual contract with Landscapers for clean up, bed maintenance, trimming, etc. The people who do the actual work are professional and friendly. They are easy to direct if you have a special request. They arrive to do the work on their schedule, but they are available for special meetings to discuss larger projects for tree removal, new plantings, etc.
Description of Work: Clean up of landscaped beds, trimming of bushes, replanting of current plants.

I called and waited a week for a call back then another two weeks before the rep could come and evaluate the job. Rep seemed very knowledgeable and experienced. He told me that he would get the proposal to me soon. Two weeks later I called as a follow-up. Left message on voice mailbox of the person that evaluated the project. Waited waited and waited. No call back and no proposal. Not a professional way to do business.
Description of Work: I requested proposal to rebuild 100 ft wide stone retaining wall, 11 * 13 ft brick patio and 35 ft * 4 ft brick walkway. I requested price and approximate time line to start and complete.

This work request came to us at our busiest time to handle inquiries (June 1st.). As a result we ask up front if our lead time to meet, lead time to quote after that meeting and predicted timeframe for the work to be done are acceptable. If not, we probably don't set an initial meeting unless they call back again. All of the timeframes indicated by the client except initial response are accurate for this time of year. The salesperson met with the client June 15 and was told 2-3 weeks for a quote. The quote was ready July 8 (after receiving the last quote from a supplier). The salesperson called to set up a meeting. There was no voicemail. The proposal was emailed July 9th. Sales person followed up July 13th. Client declined the proposal on July 14.

Provider interaction was interesting in that it appeared they were doing me a favor by considering doing business with me. He was interested in the referral source that sent me to him...and he left me with the impression that they were not needing new clients at this time. We were unable to engage in any meaningful discussion of the patio rebuild, as the provider wanted to see "how the mulching and edging transaction" went before there was a decsion to engage in discussion of the larger project. I agreed to review a quote for the mulch and edging...which never came. I was contacted many weeks later by the provider asking if I was still interested in a quote...and I declined (used another provider for both mulching and patio rebuild).
Description of Work: Provider was punctual. Discussion was requested for Plant / Tree Bed Edging and Mulching, along with a discussion of a patio rebuild.

This was an extensive project. To begin with the project had to be excavated, after the excavation material was brought in as well as plants. The workmen were tremendous. Very courteous they're very good craftsman. The tree selection was just awesome the design by Landcrafters nothing could be better by the time they got done winter at fallen. The project was finished in early spring in April really without a hitch. One of the Stones had cracked and landcrafters immediately indicated it was under warranty and repaired return it. My favorite part of Landcrafters is the design, then the installers. These guys are expensive.
Description of Work: Designed and installed a new deck. Additionally repaired existing patio's.

The owner, Scott, was efficient, professional. The work that was agreed upon was completed to satisfaction.
Description of Work: Landcrafters installed a catch basin with piping to connect to exiting pipes on the property. The area in question was accumulating water causing the area to be bog-like and spongey making the area difficult to mow or to walk on. Did not seek any other proposals and unable to respond to the price question in the Ratings category noted above.

Went very well. crew was very nice, worked very hard. They cleaned up remarkably well. The patio actually looks almost too nice for the house. They were here 4 days.
Description of Work: after an estimate and a plan being drawn up their crew came and removed some old clothes poles and excavated and installed a brick paver patio behind the house. they also removed a piece of damaged concrete adjoining the garage and replaced this. They laid out flower beds around the patio. We will have them back in the spring for more work with flower beds in the back yard. We are planning to ask about a stairwell down from the patio when they come back in the spring.

I loved them...they were great. I had built an old patio there before, and they removed everything and stacked up the old blocks neatly where I asked them. It was just a beautiful job. The only things I had issues with were 1. Never sealcoat your driveway before having a landscape contractor work on your yard. My newly coated driveway was very scraped up. Also my driveway is older and cracked along the edges. Their vehicles backed up off the edges really cracking my drive. One driver rode over my garbage can. They did offer to replace the garbage can, but it worked so I didn't care. Some of the newly seeded grass did not come in along a large cedar tree probably because of lack of sun.. The plastic mesh is still visible. I never notified Landcrafters of this. Overall I am very satisfied. It works. I sleep at night. I now can again enjoy a thunderstorm. It was worth it all.
Description of Work: I should have done this review closer to the date of service, but I wanted to see how the work would stand up. My amount spend is facticous as I don't remember and would have to dig through papers to find that data. We are lower than our neighbors with a large hill in the backyard that slopes to the back of the house. We had french drains installed years earlier, but they were no longer working. When it rained hard the water poured down the hill from the neighbors to the back of the house. The last couple of hard rains we had before hiring Landcrafters; the water would accumulate ankle high and would only receed when it got into the drain tiles by the house. The sump pump would pump it to the front of the house. The problem was the pump could not keep up on occasion. It got to the point if it rained even drizzled we would be up all night worrying. When it rained reallly hard and steady we would be up praying we wouldn't lose power. Landcrafters dug up our old french drains. They first layed down stone then reinstalled larger drains at our request (to handle the maximum amount of water possible) connecting them to our underground drains we already had in place along the side of the house. They layed more stone then topped it with soil that created pitch and a swail that helped move it alongside and to the front of the house. Then they reseeded laying some green pellets and mesh. This was a 3 part attack on running water. First the swail diverted water. What the swail couldn't handle seeped into the french drain and drain out. Any possible overflow of the first two attacks went into the lower bed of stone and was carried out. That was the end of 2010. While we haven't had a 100 year rain again but have had some hard steady downpours that normally could have been a problem we have come to be able to sleep through. Landcrafters together with a powerful backup to our sump pump lets us sleep at night.

Driveway is cracking again & pock marked after just one winter. Grading looks like the driver had a seeing eye dog on his lap. I don't want to write a book, I just want to tell other folks to beware. When I complained that the portions of our driveway that they had replaced were cracked & pock-marked, they offered to remove those slabs. Not repair or re-pour, just remove.

Response from LANDCRAFTERS
The grading portion: The member hired us to correct some grading on his property. He was specific about the limits of the work and the work was laid out and approved by the owner. He was unhappy with the results (it did not handle a record rainfall event) and hired us back to expand the scope of work. The limits of the work were laid out according to his instructions and approved before starting. As a part of the member's complaint, I asked what the problem was and what he wanted me to do. He was not specific about the problem and did not want us to do anything - that he would take care of it himself. The driveway portion: I investigated the complaint of the driveway and reported back within 3 days. It was in fact cracked in an unplanned location (not on a control joint) The surface looked normal for concrete over winter with salt and freezing and thawing and looked the same as two previous driveways we did with the same supplier within the last two years. The member did not ask for us to do anything. The crack is unfortunate and disappointing. We offer no warranty against cracking (which is the industry standard) because there are many factors beyond our control. We state in our proposal that the concrete will crack and everything possible would be done to direct cracks to the control joints. Still, should a problem like this arise, we participate in the remedy. I offered to remove and dispose of the cracked section. I asked to meet in person to discuss this or any remedy for either circumstance. The member elected not to meet. We value our Angie's List referrals and, as with all of our clients, will go beyond our obligations to address a problem. We look forward to the opportunity to earn positive reviews on this forum.

I'm very happy with everything. The recommended tree was one that neighbors don't have, which makes my yard unique. Dave took into account what I wanted in terms of attracting birds and size, and tactfully offered suggestions. I'd use them again.
Description of Work: Landcrafters looked at the place in my yard where there had been a tree and recommended three possibilities for a replacement tree. Dave sat down with me and went over the ideas in detail, complete with pluses and minuses. After I chose a tree, Landcrafters removed remains of sawdust, added soil, planted the tree, and evened out the soil to perfection. Service continued with a follow-up call to make sure that I understood watering instructions.

The original lannonstone doorstep had sunk over the years, so the distance from the doorway to the ground was a foot. I was at a loss as to how to get a lannonstone block. A friend told me to go to a landscaper. Landcrafters as done such good work for friends that I called them. Dealing with Scott was very easy. He came over and took measurements. His crew installed the lannonstone block a week later. They also fixed some lannonstone steps that had come loose. They did not guarantee the steps, but their job is better than the original. The original was installed 80 years ago.

Landcrafters advised us a week ahead of time when they would arrive and all the work was done in 10 days. All questions were answered promptly. We feel we got more than our monies worth of work and will use Landcrafters again for future work.
Description of Work: Landcrafters reset 3 bluestone patios. They were first installed in 1997 on crushed limestone but over the years they became difficult to maintain. Landcrafters removed the existing bluestone, dug out the crushed limestone bed and replaced it with a poured concrete base. The orginal bluestone was then ''mud set'' back in place. Mortar was used to finish the joints and after that had set and dried, a muriatic wash was done. It looks beautiful!
