Ideal Plumbing Heating AC & Friese Mueller Service

Overall excellent experience. Prompt and accurate estimate, equipment available quickly, excellent communication with staff by email or phone, always punctual, competitive prices. My only concern is that after the install I found the humidifier plugged into an extension cord which was draped next to the tub sink, as well as exposed wiring for the humidifier controller. Keith was very responsive and prompt in sending electrician back out to correct wiring issues.

Called on Saturday afternoon and left message with answering service. A plumber called back within 15 minutes. He asked a couple questions and we both determined the job was not an emergency and that our household could modify water-use until Monday to avoid emergency plumbing cost (double the weekday service cost). Got a call, i.e., they called me, at 7:30AM Monday to schedule an appointment for 8:30-9. Plumber called within 15 minutes and said he would be here by 8AM. Happiness. We've had this service done several times before so we are pros in preparing for the plumbers arrival; porchlight on so plumber can find the house, lay down tarps so the stairs and floors don't get dirty, move furniture and items in basement around access point so there is plenty of room to work, screen door kept open so equipment can come it, checkbook ready, etc.. We always get a different plumber but all have been excellent. They each have slightly different rooter equipment, i.e., some coil and some are long lengths. Most need about 100 square feet to work in. Today the plumber planned alternatives that posed less risk to damaging the floor, i.e., put snake in tube, and recommended a product called Root-X to reduce the number of plumber visits. He made sure the outside door was closed behind him so it wouldn't let in the cold winter air. Tom was very personable and was familiar with the area. The plumber described what he was going to do, and what he did and found, e.g., snaking all the way out to street, where the blockage was, how bad, etc. Nothing significant left behind for clean-up.

Work was well done at a fair price.

Ryan was great to work with. He accommodated my schedule by coming by to quote the job at 7:00 am, sent the quote by email within two hours, revised his quote to include fixtures of my choice, recommended a company to find and install a half slab of granite for the vanity top, and responded very quickly but thoroughly to all of my questions along the way. After getting several quotes, I really appreciated that Ryan didn't try to steer me towards certain products, didn't try to push the Pex tubing instead of copper pipes, and didn't try to talk me into the mechanical vent (which would have been a lot less work to install). Ideal's price seemed very fair for the whole job, and unbeatable on the fixtures. Robert, who did the rough in, and Tim, who did the finish, couldn't have been nicer and more considerate. They were both extremely professional and both did an excellent job. Robert took extra care to have to water shut off for the shortest time possible, and made sure my wife and daughter knew when and how much noise to expect. My wife said the Tim was tiptoeing up and down the basement stairs because he realized that our three year old was taking a nap upstairs.

My experience with the company went well. They were always on time and they were efficient. They did a good job and I had no complaints at all.

Everyone was very responsive and listened carefully to me at all times. They were punctual, clean, good-natured, and went out of their way to make sure my bathroom remodel was a positive experience. I can never thank them enough for their many kindnesses during the job.

First plumber (don't remember name) to address water heater vent issue was rude and forced my tenant to pay cash at time of service. After speaking with great frustration to Ideal Plumbing, Mike was sent out to correct issue. Mike was extremely polite and helpful. If you want great service and expertise with this company ask for Mike! Grade of B was given because of issue with first plumber and price... What's up with plumbers and high prices...?

I believe they specialize in large jobs and weren't that interested in the tiny job I needed help with. Further, Milwaukee had just had major flooding and they were backed up with large jobs that needed to be done. But the estimate was so high I thought they were trying to discourage me, and I had to call, and call, and call to get a time for the work to be done. When the work was finally scheduled they were prompt, courteous, and did an extremely good job. Overall: Not happy about their unresponsiveness (some of which must be blamed on the flooding and fact I was small job when there were emergencies to deal with). A little unhappy about the price given the size of the job. Very happy with the promptness and quality of the work when the job was finally scheduled.

Pete arrived two hours after my initial call to Ideal. He tried to determine why our water heater wasn't working, but it was a Kenmore water heater and Sears refused to give him any information on parts etc. that would help him confirm his determination or fix the water heater. He returned that afternoon and installed a new water heater for us. He was polite, professional, helpful, punctual, efficient, and did a great job. I would definitely recommend Ideal!

After the Great Shorewood Flood in July, the pilot lights on our water heaters in our duplex were out and covered in junk. We called Ideal first thing in the morning after the water drained out, and they said they would send someone out by noon -- and he arrived at noon right on the dot. He was able to clean both pilot lights and get them re-lit (it was the greatest warm shower of my life after three days with no power and no hot water), and he was also very honest with us about the need to have the water heaters replaced ASAP, both because water got into the insulation and because the heaters are very old. We deeply appreciated their willingness to help us out when all service companies were doing overtime with flood damage.

It was OK - and I say just OK. They showed up on time and did the job, however, the plumbers boots were flithy and he left foot prints all over my bathroom floor. While the problem seems to be resolved, I have been eyeing my toilet with suspicion for days. I do not believe he really listened to me when I told him the situation. It seems to me that it may only be partically fixed. Unfortunately, only time will tell. The pricing was TOTAL sticker shock. He was in my bathroom for less than 10 minutes. The last time I had my toilet fixed for nearly an identical issue (different toilet - my downstairs) it cost me nearly 50% less. Yikes!

This was an emergency call at 8am on a Monday morning to unclog a bathtub in our 60-year-old house. The person answering was polite and helpful. All costs were quoted upfront. (Angie's List customers receive a $10 discount.) They arranged to have someone here within an hour. About 40 minutes later, Tom, our plumber, called when he was five minutes away to confirm. Tom was pleasant, knowledgeable, explained what he needed to do and why, and immediately got to work. (The job took two hours and involved more than simply snaking the drain because of the age and condition of the plumbing.) When finished, Tom explained what he had done and how to unclog the tub in the future. He also made recommendations for plumbing updates and provided approximate time estimates for these updates. We now have a bathtub that drains the best it has drained in the six years we've owned our home AND functioning clean-outs so that we can remove our own clogs in the future without having to call a plumber. In addition to plumbing, Ideal does heating and cooling. They also have a subsidiary that does residential electrical work. Based upon our experience, we would DEFINITELY call them again for our plumbing as well as electrical and HVAC needs.

Everything has gone well overall. They had to come back out because the check valve was leaking.

Everything went as expected, and better. The service man was knowledgeable, friendly, and didn't mind my watching him. He encouraged my learning about the unit, and what he was doing, and why he was doing it. Will use them again and highly recommend them!

I called to talk about a possible furnace replacement. The HVAC supervisor was the person I spoke with. He was straightforward and had an opening the next morning to come to my house and quote. He gave me the quote after reviewing our situation, and explained the options very well. I was very comfortable with his professionalism and direct approach. He was easy to talk with and I trusted what he said. I signed the quote on the spot. The furnace was installed exactly as planned with no problems. Ideal Plumbing, Heating and A/C did a great job, and I am happy with the results. All of the rebates with the State and Lennox were received timely and exactly as promised. The HVAC supervisor even helped file the rebates. Our inspector wanted us to install a chimney vent, Ideal helped get it done quickly and for a very fair price.

Their professionalism was good, but it took a little long than we had thought. They had done a good job.

Call and scheduled appointment on Saturday morning for early the following Monday. Someone from the company called early Monday to confirm and the plumber came within an half hour. Quick and hopefully good service. Mike the plumber answered our questions and was very informative. Overall the experience was good.

He was great and very friendly. He cleaned up and was prompt. He called ahead of time. We plan to use him again if we ever have any plumbing needs.

The main water line that had been coming to my house was replaced by someone else, and it was leaking. They also fixed that and some other issues for me. They came pretty much on time and got right to work. They were excellent.

Tom called prior to arrival. He looked over the unit and had me run hot water to get it to kick in. It turns out that it was "short cycling" and he determined that it might just need to be cleaned up a little. He polished the firing rod and it now seems to be working fine. He also explained in easy to understand terms what he was doing and what might need to be done in the future if the problem arises again. Great experience overall. (Also got the $10 Angies List discount.)

The repairman was puntual, courteous. and competent. He arrived at 9:40 and left at 10:10

He arrived within an hour of my frantic call on a Friday around 3pm. Took care of the problem within a half hour. Very professional and friendly. Will use them again. Thank you

The person who came out was competent. He did a very nice job for us. He cleaned up after himself. In general, we were pleased with the quality of work. The price was good and we were satisfied with it. They were very responsive. They arrived within a couple of hours of our call. We got a call from them the day after the work was completed to make sure everything was operating properly.

There were some good things about them and a couple of bad things about them. As far as their plumbing work, they did a good job. We had them help a little bit with the demolition of our bathroom because we had to have the flooring and everything removed to get the plumbing done. They weren't really the greatest in doing the clean-up. They also damaged our new window that had been put in so that ticked us off. The guy that damaged it was the supervisor and he wouldn't admit that he damaged it. Luckily the window contractor agreed to fix it without any questions because it was somewhat minor in their eyes. They agreed to put in the sub-floor after they fixed all the plumbing underneath the floor and the same supervisor forgot that they were supposed to give us the sub-floor. When I pointed that out, he got angry at us for pointing that out. We actually hired them because they agreed to put in a new floor for us. At other times, he was very helpful and worked with the other contractor pretty well. When the sump pump was not working properly after they had re-routed it, they came and fixed it without any charge and without any question about it. There was about 80 to 90 percent good, but then there was the supervisor who had an attitude once we pointed out a couple of things that weren't right. They did the work over a period of time from late October 2009 all the way through December. The finished product is good. Sometimes they didn't show up when they were supposed to. I would use them in the future, but I definitely wouldn't want to work with that one particular supervisor. The 3 other guys from the company were all really good. The plumber who did most of the work was really good and worked under the supervisor.
