Residential Window and Door Replacement featuring National Brands like Pella, Marvin, Andersen and more. Professional installation by employee carpenters.
They did all of our windows in 2016 and now in 2024 I have to do ALL the window caulking and actually having too remove 3 out of 9 windows so far to reset them properly. As I am doing each window it is an experience in how bad the installation crew installed each window. From the very bad caulking job they did to how they actually installed the windows. Each window was installed differently and some are so bad I have had to remove them and then remove the wood they used and put new whole pieces of wood in. 2 window caulking jobs are so bad that 1 had a colony of ants living in the window and another had wood rot so bad the wood smelled of rot. Both windows needed removing and replacing with extra care to the areas I mentioned before. The insulation job is terrible to a point of redoing each window. They use foam insulation and on some windows they use it to cover up their short comings on the installation of the windows. I DO NOT recommend using this company to install your windows.

This is not right! If a window is installed improperly or there is sloppy caulking, it is apparent immediately. This is 8 years later! We stand by our work and if this customer had contacted us we would certainly have addressed his concerns-even after all of this time. This customer has not contacted us with any of these "issues" and after 8 years, it is not right to bash us online. These windows were installed in 2016. After 8 years, there may be a need to re caulk. Also, if these windows were truly installed so improperly as to need to be reset, they would not have operated properly. None of this was noticed for 8 years? We are not perfect, but we take care of our customers and any issue that arises. To trash our company after 8 years without even giving us a chance to remedy whatever issue he feels he had, is unfair.

Very unprofessional experience. We were looking to replace a window in our family room. We had two companies out that gave very informative presentations, showing us various samples & explaining the differences between the window manufacturers. Doing our due diligence we called upon HomeTowne to come out to see what they had to offer. Steve Marsac, one of their salesmen, came out to our house. He had no enthusiasm in what he was doing & seemed rather lazy. All he did was measure the window that we wanted to replace & offered no samples or discussion on what they sell. Because of our previous meetings with the other window companies we knew enough to ask Steve some questions. When we asked if he had samples to show us he answered, "no, I would have to have 20 different window samples in my car". He said we could go to their showroom (that is 40 minutes away) to see samples. Steve said he would e-mail us the quotes. After waiting a week & not hearing from Steve I called him. He apologized for the delay & immediately e-mailed me his quotes. They seemed in the ball-park so my wife and I decided to take the drive to their showroom. Prior to leaving I called to be sure someone would be there that afternoon. I was assured there would be, as I mentioned we would be there within a couple of hours. After driving 45 minutes the showroom was closed. This was at 3pm & their hours are supposed to be til 5. Understandably upset I called to see if someone might be there. After receiving their voice mail system I left a message for Bob Dietz letting him know that we had driven from across town only to find their showroom closed. While we were in their parking lot making the phone call a HomeTowne car drove up. It happened to be Bob Dietz, one of the owners. After explaining our displeasure with them not being open initially & also mentioned how Steve's presentation was very poor and that I had to call Steve to remind him to send me the quote Bob was very apologetic. Bob took the time to show us the various windows that we were interested in. We agreed on a price & Bob was going to come out the next morning to take final measurements. We were very impressed with our experience with Bob. We scheduled that he would be out the next day at 2pm to take the final measurements. Bob called me a short time later & asked if we could change the time to 10am. We agreed, as my wife did have to make a change in her morning plans. First thing the next morning I received the following e-mail from Bob: "Hello, Thank you for the opportunity to measure for your window project. We apologize, but are going to decline on the project at this time. Thank you, Bob Dietz" Bob offered no explanation just this short e-mail. I would like to thank Bob & HomeTown for wasting our time. Not a way to do business!

Noone wants to waste a customer's time, and no, this is not how we do business. In this case, this project was doomed from the start. These folks did not like the sales person and when they showed up at our showroom, it was closed. It was closed because our inside person's mother is ill and she needed that afternoon off. Our outside people were out visiting customers. It maybe was locked for 1/2 hour, but that is unfortunately when these folks showed up (OK, that IS on us). As for the sales person, it was made very clear that these folks considered him incompetent and lazy (-not fair and very off putting- this Rep. does a great job for us and cares about his customers!). As for the Rep.'s recommendation to visit the showroom, HomeTowne does not do the three hour floor show at people's homes, nor are we going to start. This is exactly BECAUSE we respect our customers' time and realize that this is not a small purchase. Would you buy a car out of a suitcase from your living room? If we were so much more incompetent than the other companies, why even bother to make the trip to our showroom? Also, and not stated, these customers wanted us to remove and reinstall an electric blind (which Steve mentioned that we do not do for liability purposes) because it might "cost $100 to have someone else do it" and also to jump ahead of others on the schedule because they were going to be "out of town for three months". After further review, this call was terminated because, in these folks' own words, HomeTowne was not a good fit from the very beginning. We felt we would not be able to meet their future expectations. We stand by our decision, "grade" notwithstanding.

Excellent from first meeting with Bob Cunningham, visiting their showroom a couple times with questions, coming up with a final quote/contract to scheduling to the installation, which took place yesterday. I had 5 pocket installations and 4 total replacement. I went from 2 standard windows to changing to a picture window and also an apron window in the kitchen. Selected windows from Pella and Soft-Lite. I have to say I really love the look quality of the 2 Pella's installed. I never felt pressured and always felt that any question I had was answered completely. My experience with HomeTowne Windows & Doors in New Berlin, WI was a good choice for me.

We had some difficulty verifying the appointment time, but they arrived within the appointment interval and worked very professionally room by room through the first day; did a reasonable clean-up before leaving. Completed the job the following day (except for the storm door). The exterior of the new windows should have been cleaned more thoroughly; otherwise their clean-up was good. Their supplier put the wrong storm door in the package, so it took an additional five or six weeks before the proper door was installed. The workers were always courteous and willing to answer questions. Their process was very noisy, but efficient. Would definitely recommend this service provider.

When we replaced our windows, we forgot about one window in the attic. So we called Hometowne and asked Mr Deitz if they would would replace one window. He said sure. So we had him come and measure for the replacement and discuss which brand of window to use. Bob suggested a Pella. He offered a great window with a great price. While we were taking we asked about exterior storm doors. Bob offered some suggestions for brands of doors also. We went with the Provia. A little expensive but very good doors. The installation went without a problem. And we were very happy with the window and doors. The doors have a dead bolt so they can be locked from the outside with a key. We can now lock the storm door and keep the inside door open. It has much better weather stripping than our old ones did.

EVERYTHING went extremely well. From the quote, which was 25% less than VerHalen, to the install, which was 100% better than the patio door install done by VerHalen. Bob Cunningham, our sales person, was timely and very informative as to what would be done and what would work best for our situation. The cost was significantly less for the identical Pella windows and install than VerHalen. The work crew was on time and did a great job. I would definitely recommend HomeTowne Windows to anyone looking for windows and/or doors!

HomeTowne installs the replacement windows we researched and selected for our house, Soft-Lite. Our sales rep, Steve, was pleasant and knowledgeable. He measured and placed our order. We scheduled our installation for February and our project was delivered on time. Unfortunately, our experience deteriorated after installation. We have had concerns about the quality of the caulking job on several of our new windows. Some have been corrected, some have not. One of the patio sliding doors that was installed squeaked. HomeTowne attempted to correct the issue and when they could not, they called in the manufacture's rep. He was able to correct the issue and while he was on site, we asked that he check out our caulking concerns. He confirmed that corrections were needed and promised to follow up with HomeTowne. Weeks have passed with no response. In the interim, a piece of trim has fallen off one of our front windows. This time, we contacted Steve directly and again weeks have passed with no response. It is now July and we still waiting to resolve issues from February.

We are sorry that this customer did not have a good experience with us. We always try to provide the industry standard for customer service. Obviously, we dropped the ball where the trim piece is concerned. No excuse for that. We did go out today and fix that issue. It was actually a piece of the screen. As for caulking concerns there were some bad/missed beads etc. on the original install. We had thought we had taken care of them on a previous return visit. When we went out today, we did inspect those units and the caulking had been done on that previous visit. BUT, had we responded to the screen part inquiry as we should have, we could have addressed the caulk question at that time. Certainly, if there are any issues or concerns we missed or pop up, we will take care of them. It is our goal to make our customers happy, and will do so even (and especially) if we make a mistake. We do appreciate this customer's business and again, apologize for the delay.

I think that the preliminary work that they did and the presentation for the sales was very good. I think the installation process was excellent. The team was very, very hard and they failed to get a passing grade for me because it took them four and a half months to do the follow up work and it was silly nonsense little follow up things that took them all of twenty minutes to finish. So they had to replace the handle, they ordered it and they sat on it for three and a half or almost four weeks, they came to put it in and it was the wrong handle. They had to re-order the handle and then come for another month to out that in. It's just some little minor things that again should have taken no time at all. They should have been here and three weeks and maybe four at the very most. It was just really poor follow up. The cost was in line with other cost. The quality of their work was very good. They took so long to do the follow up. The guys that came to do the windows themselves were very conscientious and very good.

. We met with a number of contractors, but settled on Hometowne because we immediately felt at ease with their co-owner, Bob Dietz. There was no pressure to buy anything, and he made multiple trips to our (Big Bend) home to speak with us and show us his ideas, before we told him that his company was our first choice. And we noticed that he spoke first about his work crews, and how experienced and thorough they were. We found this passing on of praise to the workers, by the owner, unusual and refreshing. And they did a terrific job for us. They were prompt, thorough, and followed through with us. And their initial bid was their final price - no hidden costs. This was our first experience with them, but it won't be our last. Highest praise for this company!

We were extremely happy with our entire HomeTowne experience. They were very prompt in setting up an initial site review and estimate for the work. Their prices were reasonable and actually very close to an estimate we had received 5 years ago for the same work. The best part of it all was that their prices for painting/staining the doors and windows were very very very reasonable -- much more so than us trying to do it ourselves. We scheduled the work for after the first of the year to get an additional discount. The first scheduled dates actually had to be moved for two reasons: 1 - some of our windows were backordered (at no fault of HomeTowne) and the front door arrived with a large scratch in it (again at no fault of HomeTowne) and 2 - it was below zero. We were able to reschedule for early February, which was no problem for us. We sent over paint codes for the exterior and they realized that one of the colors seemed to be coming out more yellow than our house, so they made a trip over to get another sample and get a new paint mix to make sure it matched perfectly. Come installation week, we found the installers to be incredibly courteous and professional. They did a great job of minimizing the mess as well - not an easy task in winter. We are extremely happy with all of the work that was done and would highly recommend HomeTowne to anyone else looking to do similar work!

installed. If any I will Sales: No pressure. Clear answers. Price: No haggle clear competitive price. Clearly explains and divide price, rather then lumpsump total. No gimmick. Installation. They have teams who work together. Not the best but still very good team work. I can see minor conflicts from my end. All staff courtious, reliable and professional. Cons: Your presence at the time of installation does makes difference. Otherwise finishing, caulking, alignment etc may not be perfect. They need to be self motivated for these things. They had to delay part of the installation for a few weeks, which is not a major factor for me. I do not have any experience with after-payment service calls, as it is just installed. If any I will definitely update to reflect.

This is the 3rd time that I am using Hometowne as they do such a wonderful job. Jim is especially easy to work with. We have an old home on the east side of Milwaukee and after last winter we decided to get new windows in the living room and library. The previous year we had a window seat rebuilt along with a side door and side window. We really like the attention to the detail and respect for the history of the house that Hometown has. So after that project we signed up for windows on the 2nd and once they were done last April decided to pretty much finish the house by replacing the downstairs living room and library windows. These windows needed to be stained and the Hometowne team did a great job of matching the sample that we gave them. Also Jim helped us decide what type of windows would work best. We decided to basically replace the double hung windows with double hung windows. We made an exception for the front window in the living room where we installed 2 casements and the central window was fixed. So the basic look of the original windows was preserved. The outside of the all the windows were wrapped in aluminum to make them maintenance free. The team that installs the windows were there as promised around 8:30AM. They laid down drop cloths and plastic to project the rooms. When they were done they did an excellent job cleaning up. We only have a couple of windows left in the house to do and when we are ready, we will be calling Hometowne again.

We were very impressed with the quality of service and the product (Softlite). The price was competitive with other quotes we received but without the sleezy salesman vibe - bonus! Jim did not try to upsell us or convince us to do other work in the house when we told him we only wanted to proceed with the one window. He came back and remeasured for accuracy, then helped us match the exterior color, as well. The window looks and works great!
Description of Work: Measured and quoted us for replacing all the windows in our house. We decided to do one pocket replacement in one of the bedrooms (this was the only window not replaced in the last 20 years for some reason) to start, before proceeding with the rest of the house. They did a quick pocket replacement with a double-hung vinyl window.

I worked with Bob from HomeTowne through the entire process (screening, pricing, installation, follow up) and it could not have gone smoother. He was very responsive to everything we wanted and was willing to spend time with us to answer any questions we had. It was a 2-3 day project because we had so many windows (replaced the whole house + patio door) and the team was there on time each day. Everyone was very aware of mess and clean up in and around the house during and after the process which I appreciated. A few months after installation we noticed a picture window was not locking properly. I called Bob to discuss and he had someone out the next day to fix at no charge. Overall great experience and I would definitely work with them again.
