This contractor was recommended on a well-known local "Fix-it" web site. I needed my concrete driveway sealed for the winter and the brick on my house, since the brick is a porous type. I could not find anyone to do this work. I started calling concrete contractors and I found this one on the web. I called him and told him what I needed and he asked me "why don't you get the guy who poured your drive to seal it?" I explained to him that the original contractor did not want to do it. He said okay, "get me all of the dimensions of your drive and the house and I will find out what the materials cost will be so I can give you an estimate". I spent a lot of time and effort measuring the brick portion of my house and the driveway. I then ran a sketch of my drive over to his office in New Berlin. He told me he would contact his supplier and get back to me. After a week or so I called him and got his answering machine. I left a message. After another week I called and got his answering machine and left a message. I then sent him an e-mail, no response. If he didn't want to do the job, why didn't he just tell me in the first place? Even now, he could have returned my calls and said he decided not to pursue the job.

Workmen arrived on schedule. Crew began to arrive around 7:30 AM daily. When assessing the initial garage floor options we decided to have the contractor replace the entire floor instead of only a partial cutout. Contractor had a great idea to expand step from garage floor to interior house door. New step was wider and longer making access into the house much more convenient. Garage floor and driveway were properly pitched to the street. Work was performed in logical sequence: garage floor, concrete areas and driveway, stoop, stoop brick work and finally the paver patio. Concrete was framed and poured. Crew returned later to cut expansion joints where needed. Paver patio was built with a herringbone pattern and a lot of cutting was required to shape the patio within its forms. Concrete, patio and stoop brickwork were properly sealed as promised. Integrating driveway with stoop and patio design required some design work resulting in the addition of a large stone step connecting the patio with the driveway. The contractor's team cleaned up after themselves daily and the yard was always neat when they left. Contractor returned after mortar has set up on the stoop's brick work and sealed brick and mortar joints with a salt guard material. Also returned to re-adjust some of the paver sand and forms and resealed the sand after the adjustments. All in all we were very pleased with the quality of the work and the friendliness of the team.
Description of Work: Replaced complete concrete garage floor. Replaced concrete driveway and asphalt apron to street with poured concrete. Replaced concrete area adjacent to driveway and garage used for storage and walkway around garage. Poured new front stoop raising it to front door level as well as enlarging the stoop and covered it with a masonry brick face. Created oval shaped paver block patio connecting to front stoop and driveway.
