The patio cracked three weeks after it was poured. Caminata Concrete assured me they would fix it by cutting the cracked piece out and repouring it. 18 months later, the crack is still not fixed and now they are saying they won't cut it out and re-pour it, but they want to grind out the crack and cauk it. Needless to say I was not happy. When i became noticably upset, the proprietor of Caminata Concrete threatened to "come over and kick my a**". He also texted my wife and threatened to call the police on my wife if she continued to try to contact him. The text also stated he would "shut me up permanently". This was all in response to my telling him "fine, just come and f****** fix it". Needless to say the police were called, and Caminata Concrete is not to have any contact with us from this point on. The crack is still not fixed. After 18 months of waiting for the contractor to fix the crack, my life was threatened because I was not happy with his service or the way he runs his business. I was led to believe that he was a standup guy, but based on my experience, this is certainly not the case.
Description of Work: Caminata Concrete poured a concrete patio for me.

This project was a disaster due to Caminata Concrete. He failed to do as the blueprints specified, so we had to take our case to lawyers as he was nonresponsive. It all started with his promise to use plywood to protect the lawn during excavation which he did not, causing the destruction of about 150ft x 15ft of lawn. He was going to pour the frostwall in a trench with no forms but due to the rough sides of the trench he installed plywood to pour against and left these in the trench and smashed them off with a sledge hammer to remove most of what stuck above the finish grade. The 2" insulation called for in the prints on the outside of the frostwall was replaced with 1 1/2" to cut corners. This work was not square to the house and so did not fully support the final slab. It overhangs the frostwall on one of the corners. Blueprints called for reinforced concrete for the final cap and no reinforcement with either wire mesh or fiberglass in the mix was used. The slab developed 1/16" wide cracks throughout the slab within months of installation. We're concerned this will jeopardize the in-floor heating system in the future. Upon completion, he left all the excess gravel, concrete, and other construction debris laying on the lawn. Mr. Caminata did not return calls to either us or the contractor for quite some time, and then when he did he was rude and not willing to listen at first to what needed to be done to proceed with our project. We would never recommend him to others. He cut corners everywhere. We did not hire him, so we could not fire him! I would not let this man pour a concrete boat anchor in a coffee can.
Description of Work: This was a subcontractor for a sunroom/addition contractor we had build us a sun room. It was started in 2006, and he was to excavate for the footings, install footings and frost wall with insulation, and pour the final cap/slab completing the foundation of the sunroom.

He did not show up when he said he was going to. Overall, it was a good quality job, but there were a few details that he did not pay attention to. He also did not put in a saw cut in the concrete, which I paid to have done. Otherwise, the price was very reasonable for the type of work that was performed.
Description of Work: I hired Caminata Concrete to tear out an existing concrete sidewalk and put in a new one. I also had him tear out the existing concrete floor of the garage and put in a new one as well.
