Everything went like Connie explained it would. I called an talked to her on the phone. Her husband came out the following week and gave me an estimate. I told him to go ahead. He had me call Connie to set up a time. He arrived on time and installed the door. It works just like they promised it would. The old door was gone and the garage door opener still works.
Description of Work: They removed an existing garage door and hauled it away, installed a new garage door and reattached the garage door opener.

My garage door cable snapped over the weekend. I called Blando Door on Monday afternoon, the company worked with my schedule and had someone out the first day I was available. They even called to say they could come earlier but unfortunately I was not home. The appointment time was between 8-10am, the workman, Rob came right on time and got the job done quickly and for less than the initial estimate. I am so happy with Blando I would recommend them and definitely use them again.

Because they were so busy with the weather impacting many garage doors, they didn't answer their phone message right away. However, I was persistent, and they finally got back to me the next day and followed threw smoothly to get the work accomplished. They also added some additional detail that needs to be addressed. This was good, because I was thinking the same thing that they mentioned, so it confirmed my suspicions about the door, and that Blando knows what they are doing.
Description of Work: Our garage door was mis-aligned because of the weather and wouldn't stay closed. They came out and fixed it the next day, and we didn't even have to be present.

Out of the blue our garage door opener stopped working. The motor would run but the door would not move up or down. I called Blando at 8 am to schedule an appointment and was told someone would be out between 8 and 10 that very morning. The technician arrived around 8:30 and quickly determined that the gears were stripped in the motor. Replacing just the gears was going to be about $100, and we wanted to add the eye sensors on the door for safety, since we didn't have them previously. That required a completely new system, and since the old one was 16 years old (evidently about the max on life span), we decided to replace it all. They were able to install everything right then and were finished in an hour and a half. It runs perfectly now and we're totally satisfied with the experience. We were even able to use the Angie's List coupon to save $18 off the final price. I highly recommend Blando and would call them again.
Description of Work: Installed complete new opening system including motor, chain, sensors, key-less punch-pad entry, openers, etc.

Called over the weekend and left a message. After reviewing Angie's List reports, was pretty sure it was a bad gear. Connie called early Sunday evening and we were able to schedule the repairman between 9 and 11am on Monday. He arrived at 9:30am. Work took slightly less than an hour and the price was the same as others received in Angie's list reports. Super response and very professional work.

I called Blando after searching Angie's List at about 8 a.m. because my garage door was stuck open on one of the coldest days of the year. (Older home; retrofitted garage door opener.) They said they would come out the same day, and they did! The repairman wanted to show me the problem and explain why he had to go back to the shop for a part. When he pointed to problem and said it would be $95, I thought he meant it would be an additional $95, so I was surprised when that was the total bill. Extremely nice people to do business with also. On a freezing cold day when I was extremely frustrated, they really "made my day!" Great experience.

They came on the day I called at the time they'd predicted. I didn't need to be home and the repair man called to let me know what was needed and that it would cost $65, the cost that was quoted to me as a minimum charge. The door has continued to work perfectly through our current cold spell. I'm sure it would have "popped" again if not repaired.
Description of Work: Blando Door Co. "tuned up" our garage door, which had started to stick. It does this every several years when the weather gets cold. If unattended to, eventually the springs "pop" and a larger repair is needed.

This is a very professional, honest operation. They did not attempt to sell me something that wasn't needed. I greatly appreciate their dedication to repair rather than replacement when that course of action is possible. I have no hesitation in recommended Blando.
Description of Work: Our garage door opener failed. The main drive gear wore down so that the opener did not function. I called Blando, explained the problem and they immediately had the solution. A new gear kit. The serviceman, Bill, came the next day and made the repair in about a half our.

In less than half an hour, Rob was able to diagnose the problem and tighten all the brace bolts, reset the opener, check the optic beams, and add several bolts to the metal strip anchored to the opener and door edge. He explained what he was doing during each step and answered all my questions. He also advised me about maintenance, the settings, and care of the door. He was prompt, polite, efficient, and did a great job at a reasonable price, including the Angie's List discount. When I asked about door openers, he found a used one for this older model garage door opener on his truck and gave it to me along with a nice ''Merry Christmas''. As one happy customer, I would not hesitate to call Blando's in the future.
Description of Work: The garage door would not shut. I called and Blando serviceman, Rob, was there the next day. He located a couple of problems. The main one was loose bolts on the brace supporting the chain, which became disengaged because of the extra slack. Running the motor without the chain connected canceled the open/shut limit settings, so the door would not close all the way.

I called and informed them that my garage door would not open. It would move a few inches then stop suddenly. The representative was able to come right over and fix the door. I left him to it and went back to work. The job was completed wonderfully.

Great; I came home and all was well! Rather than selling me something I didn't need (which they could have easily done), the garage was fixed! All involved were also very nice, helpful, and explained things well.
Description of Work: My garage door opener is over 20 years old and finally ''gave out.'' It was really stuck and I broke off a wheel trying to force it. I was anticipating very expensive repairs for replacements. Within two hours after my call the problem was fixed!

Provided telephone estimate which was the lowest of three estimates, one of which was almost $400 higher than Blando's. We made an appointment for a visit and written estimate which was consistent with the telephone estimate. The person who provided the written estimate arrived within the two hour time period that was established. They did not have an 18 x 7 door in stock so we were advised of this and allowed the option to accept a two week delay or withdraw from the contract. We decided to accept the delay of approximately two weeks. Approximately six days prior to the new installation date we were contacted and advised that the door had arrived ahead of schedule and we were offered the option to have the installation done the next morning, which we accepted. The workers arrived within the allocated two hour time period and finished the work in about 3.5 hours, including clean up and removal of the old door and opener..

Called Blando door to take a look at my garage door springs because we were having trouble with our garage door opener not working and I was told by the manufacturer that our door was probably out of balance. Rob from Blando was quickly able to tell me that the garage door springs were fine and that it was the poorly manufactured door opener that was the problem. I had them install a brand new commercial grade opener (at a reasonable price) which works wonderfully. Lesson learned: don't waste your time with the garage door openers that they sell at the big box stores!

I called Blando Door Co. for a quote for a garage door opener. One was given me over the phone. Ms. Blando was very helpful and had answers for all my questions. After phoning several other companies, we decided to go with Blando. I was able to make an appointment for 3 days later, and the installer arrived right on time and finished his work in an efficient manner. We were very pleased with the experience from beginning to end.

This is actually the second time I have called this company because the door opener failed to work. The first time they came at night to do a repair at a reasonable cost. I was not an Angie's member at the time. I was very concerned this time that I had gotten too much spray lubricant into the power mechanism. That was not the case. It was fixed in a second with the flip of a switch. The repairman gave me some suggestions for lubricating the mechanism in the future. To my amazement he said, "no charge". I do not expect any company to make a service call for free no matter that it took only a minute. Overall this went FANTASTIC and I would call them first to do any future work.
Description of Work: The garage door opener stopped working after I had done some lubrication. I unknowingly disconnected the traveler switch. The repairman diagnosed the problem in a minute and corrected it.

An elderly neighbor asked me for help late one night because her garage door wouldn't close and she was concerned about the repair cost. I called Blando and explained the situation, and he was able to give me advice over the phone on how to fix it. He was very patient and made sure I had all the information I needed. My neighbor was relieved that we were able to fix it without a visit. I will definitely hire this company when I am ready to get a new garage door.

I contacted Blando about repairing my garage door opener after reading other reports on Angie's List. Another company told me that my garage door opener couldn't be repaired because the brand was no longer available. I was also told that the old door would need to be replaced if a new opener was installed. Blando was able to fit me in the day I called even though my appointment was originally scheduled for the next day. Mark identified two broken parts. One could have been fixed, but the other could not. I asked about the door and he said it didn't need to be replaced until I was ready for a new one or unless something happened to it. He told me the price for installation of the new opener and said it could be done immediately. In the end, he repaired a broken part on my door for no extra charge and waited for me to pick my son up from school to demonstrate the new opener and handle the payment.

We requested a quote and they made an appointment to come over within a day or two. We had two very old single garage doors that needed replacement. We wanted two single doors with a specific window on the third panel, and no electric garage door openers. They met our request perfectly. The doors they ordered came in sooner than expected so they called us. Did we want to move up the installation appointment? We had a project in the garage so we weren't able to make an earlier appointment, but we appreciated the consideration. The installer did an excellent job including cleanup and haul away of the old doors. I was able to leave work to meet him when the project was finished, and he showed me how they work, key location, etc. The quote we received from another garage door company was significantly higher for the exact same door and installation.
Description of Work: Two single garage doors were installed and the old ones removed. The sliding tracks were also replaced, so everything is new.
