+ -1 moreA company individual came in their truck with the new door assembly. Removed old door and track and installed the new track and door piece by piece until complete. Installed trim around door. They had the color we needed. Loaded old door, etc. onto truck.
Description of Work: They completely removed the old door and track and replaced with a new one. They hooked up our current garage door opener with the new door. The door on the outside has a slight texture to it which we like. The salesperson was helpful and was very honest with us on ordering and installation of the door. This work was done in September.

Everyone we spoke to in person or over the phone was very courteous and friendly. No pressure to upgrade or up sell just good honest people doing good work. + -1 moreI called and got quotes from a few of the companies on Angie's List and Blando was about even with the rest, but they threw in a tune-up for the price. To replace both springs (recommended) and the tune-up they estimated $225. They scheduled a time to come out same-day even though it was the Friday after Thanksgiving, which was nice. They later called and asked if they could come about an hour earlier, which was fine. The man that did the work was friendly and took maybe 40 minutes. He also pointed out a possible trouble point in the garage's structure. In the end they gave us a $15 Angie's List discount.
Description of Work: One of the torsion springs broke so that the garage door would not open.

About 2 years ago I used them for the first time and when my garage door would not open, the technician that came was extremely knowledgeable and in addition to doing the repair he provided wonderful instructions on how to lubricate the door on my own and save me money to not have repair people come out.

They don't use inferior products. We have three garage doors on one of our properties, and they came out and fixed all of them. They will come out and repair small things as well and it is always reasonably priced.

+ -1 moreThey were about an hour later than scheduled, but called to let us know. He had the door fixed quickly and also checked all other door and frame components to ensure it was fixed. We've had no problems since. He was very friendly and didn't mind me watching to see what was wrong and what had to be fixed.

+ -1 moreOverall, I have never been let down by any contractor on Angie's List thus far. I would highly recommend Blando door. Everyone was very fast in responding, professional, timely, and the work was outstanding.
Description of Work: John installed a new garage door for us with lock as well as trim, and some trim done to the other garage door. We had put on a garage door on one side 3 years ago and it was time for the other door to be replaced. I got a quote from Connie over e-mail very fast. George came out and gave me a quote and we went from there. The door, hinges, parts etc. were all commercial grade; nothing like the hardware used on the other door. Everyone I dealt with was very professional and knew what they were talking about. My garage door was not in stock anymore at the hardware store, but Blando found the exact same one and it matches the other perfectly. We also have a very old garage so some trim (wood) needed to be cut back and updated with newer trim and installation on the sides of the door. John did that as well and did it to the other garage door we put in 3 years ago to match. It looks perfect now. John also put in a lock on the garage door.

+ -1 moreI was amazed at the long list of services they provided for an additional $75. The door works flawlessly and I am really grateful for the new sensors since I have very young children. He even fixed the frame on my side door. All this was done without an additional labor charge. I'm pleased with their work and have told 4 of my co-workers about John's great work.
Description of Work: My kids were playing in the garage and knocked something against the garage door track while I was raising the door. I was able to manually close it. Since it was a holiday weekend I decided to wait until the kids went back to school. I called them and asked for an estimate. He asked the age of my opener and I advised them it was older than I am. He said if it sounded like the kit on the opener and told me the replacement price. Due to the age of the system, he gave me $275 quote for the replacement of the opener and two remotes. He had a tech dispatched in my neighborhood and promised to call me if he could get him over to look at my garage door. A half hour later, I received a call from John, he was in my alley with my garage door open. My garage door wasn't the problem it was the opener. He advised me that it really wasn't a good value to replace the kit on a 1967 garage door opener. I agreed with him and he told me they would take care of it the next day. When he was pulling the door down one of the cables came off and the garage closed off kilter. He said they would take care of that. The next day I came home and used my key to open the garage door. I found an invoice and box full of rusty parts with an invoice for $350. I was surprised with the price until I read that he had to replace quite a few parts and that the cable had to be replaced.

The doors look great, the work was done quickly and I am very happy with the service they provided. They saved me at least $500 by fixing the doors, rather than suggesting I install new ones. As we own several investment properties, I will be hiring them again in the future!
Description of Work: The company replaced the lower panels on two garage doors. The people I spoke with on the phone were friendly and always accessible. Every company should function as they do!

+ -1 moreWhen I called Blando's at about noon, they were able to schedule an appointment to come out to our house the next morning between 9:00 and 11:00 A.M. John Sifuentes came promptly at 9:00 and did a fantastic job. He not only replaced the springs, but he was so thorough in checking everything else, that I felt we picked the right company. He tightened all of the bolts on the door and gave me a mini tutorial so I would know how to maintain our wood door and the whole system. He explained the electric eyes and the difference between our wood door and steel doors without trying to sell me anything. He reset the keypad for me and even changed the light bulb! On top of that, he was courteous and efficient. I would call them again.

Sitting in the kitchen that morning we heard a loud snap from the garage and I had an inkling that it was a garage door spring, it was. I immediately went to Angie's list to see who was a highly rated garage door company and found Blando...I called up and they were great. They were able have someone out to my house that afternoon to have the springs replaced. It was spectacular service and I am extremely happy with the job that was done.

+ -1 moreCalled for an appointment, Connie was very apologetic about how busy they were. I said it wasn't an emergency in any way so made the appt out about a week or so for 8 in the morning. The day of the appt she called at 7:30 to tell me he couldn't come because he had a flat tire. I was very appreciative of the phone call (lots of companies don't even call). We rescheduled for that afternoon. Anyway, he came right on schedule at 1 in the afternoon, diagnosed the problem (sticking paint on the weather strip sticking to the door) and loosened up the wheels a bit to make it not so sticky and told me to have a nice day. Great company to work with, this is now my third time and I will use them again.
Description of Work: Bill had been to my house in April for garage door tuneup (see my previous report). I had a great experience. So I called them back when my garage door was 'sticking' or 'shuddering' when it first opens. I had looked around, checked the wheels, lubed the tracks again, all of that. Couldn't figure it out. I am a single mother who currently has a broken leg on top of it.

+ -1 moreBlando was able to send someone (George) to do an estimate and someone (John) to take a look at repairing the door temporarily in the same day. George was extremely helpful and nice and I was able to get an estimate on the spot. Within minutes John showed up to repair the door and opener. He recommended replacing both. Since the door was an odd size, it had to be ordered. However, Blando installed the opener next day so I could at least lift the door automatically until the new one arrived. The new door arrived earlier than the scheduled install date so they called to see if I wanted it sooner. They did a great job installing it and it really looks nice on the garage. They were great to work with and I would use them again and highly recommend them to others!
Description of Work: The traveler on my garage door was stripped. I called Blando to see about getting an estimate to replace the door and the opener, as they were old and the opener was not the proper horse power for the size of the door.

+ -1 moreI have a new garage door company! Garage door would not open. Called Blando based on Angie's list comments and discussed problem with Connie. Scott came out first thing the next morning. He was able to force door open and get inside garage. Garage door is old so many of the rollers were loose and one had fallen off. He tightened everything and fixed/replaced rollers. Since I am considering purchasing new door (definitely from Blando), he suggested keeping the rollers already there and not replacing the cables in order to keep cost down. He would have suggested changing the cables if I was going to keep the door. Definitely appreciated his suggestions! Before he left, he measured the door for me so I could get an easy quote from Connie. I was extremely pleased with all contact with company and will definitely use them again for any service required and/or new door.
Description of Work: Un-jammed garage door, full tune-up and lube.
