 + -1 moreNot only was the company representative knowledgeable and friendly he took time to listen and understand our needs for a pet safe resolution. We signed a maintenance contract with the company and called for another issue. They were back out within 2-3 days to take care of the issue. I wish I would have done this years ago!
Description of Work: The representative came out due to a mice infestation. Not only did he set appropriate (pet safe) traps he also located the area in which the mice were getting and offered advice on how to repair the entrance and also how to deter the mice from getting in. He also sprayed for insects. The experience was so wonderful that we signed a maintenance contract with the company.

 + -1 moreWe had Batzner come out for a carpenter ant problem in April. There was a 6 mt. warranty and we were noticing ants again, so we called them to come back. They had a man out the same day and stayed for two hours looking everywhere. He resprayed and told us to feel free to call again if we had more problems. All at no charge. He was professional, sincere, and polite.

 + -1 moreBatzner was courteous on the phone and came, recommended by a friend who has used them several times. I thought they were professional and took a bit more care then another vendor I've used in the past, to inspect for potential access points. But their price is significantly higher then that vendor, and only time will tell if they are worth it. My initial impression after one visit is that the actual measures taken to prevent and resolve issues is not different, so I will be a bit surprised if different results are rendered. If you sign up for a year of service, they charge your card a fee each month and only provide service when they've been fully paid in advance - rather then letting you pay as you go.
Description of Work: Sprayed for insects around perimeter and set bait traps for mice inside.

Dave C. was our usual tech and he was incredibly personable, thorough, cautious (he limited spraying certain rooms when I was pregnant), and trustworthy (I felt comfortable leaving a key). He reminded me of the old style service person that you would know on a slightly more personal level and discuss our families, etc. It was just very nice. Additionally, the service was always neat, and if I felt that I needed a touch up application, it was included with my BAN plan.
Description of Work: For $29 per month, Batzner sent out a technician to spray, inspect, and evaluate my home (inside and out) four times per year. This included mouse bait (poison), spraying for various insects (spiders, etc.), and even cobweb clearing.

 + -1 moreI purchased the yearly agreement because it will be all inclusive for bugs and rodents. He went over their philosophy and I felt very comfortable knowing that if I encounter any pest problem they are a phone call away. My friend recommended them very highly. They are not cheap. I appreciated the Angie's List discount.
Description of Work: Tech came to home and I showed him where the pests were congregating. He then went into basement and put down 8 bait stations. Put 1 in both kitchen and attic. He checked the foundations and found two large cracks that will be sealed at a later date. He also sprayed my basement for bugs and left a couple traps in the window seals.

 + -1 morePrompt and neat, they have an annual service that will come every three months to do their BAN system. This system is environment friendly and non evasive. The worker were always Prompt and neat.

 + -1 moreI HAD A YELLOW JACKET'S NEST IN THE BASEMENT IN THE INSULATION. THIS WAS LAST FALL. THEY SENT A MAN RIGHT AWAY TO GET RID OF THEM. I COULDN'T FIGURE OUT HOW YELLOW JACKETS WERE GETTING IN THE HOUSE. THEY WERE COMING UP WHERE THE PIPE GOES THROUGH THE SINK. THE MAN THEY SENT TO SPRAY FIGURED ALL THIS OUT. I ALSO HIRED THEM TO COME FOR THE YEAR TO SPRAY EVERYTHING SUCH AS SPIDERS AND MICE. IT'S NOT CHEAP. THEY CHARGE ME $29 PER MONTH. THERE WAS A ONE TIME $80 FEE THAT I PAY ONLY ONCE AS LONG AS I KEEP THE SERVICE. THE MEN WHO CAME OUT WERE VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE, ON TIME, ETC. BUT, THE SALESMAN DIDN'T GIVE ME THE ANGIE'S LIST DISCOUNT, SO I HAD TO CALL TO GET THEM BACK TO CREDIT MY ACCOUNT. FOR THE GENERAL SPRAYING, THEY ONLY COME OUT ONCE A QUARTER. SO FAR I DON'T HAVE ANY SPIDERS, SO THAT'S NICE. THEY FIXED THAT PROBLEM. THEY ARE STILL WORKING ON THE MICE.
Description of Work: Exterminate yellow jackets. I had a yellow jacket's nest in the basement in the insulation. This was last fall. They sent a man right away to get rid of them. I couldn't figure out how yellow jackets were getting in the house. They were coming up where the pipe goes through the sink. The man they sent to spray figured all this out.

 + -1 moreThe technician was actually a few minutes early coming on a Saturday morning GREAT! That really was a benefit. He asked me about any problems that I was currently having, and spent quite a bit of time following up to make sure that the issue with the mice was gone. He was very polite and friendly, as ALL of the employees of Batzner have been. I would highly recommend them!
Description of Work: They came for their Winter service this week, and did a thorough follow up to a problem with mice, that I had at the end of last year.

DAVE FROM BATZNER ARRIVED AT OUR HOUSE PROMPTLY AT THE SCHEDULED TIME, WAS VERY POLITE AND DID A TERRIFIC JOB EXPLAINING ABOUT THE ANTS, THEIR M.O. AND HOW TO DEAL WITH THEM. HE WAS VERY THOROUGH IN CHECKING FOR THE ANTS' NEST OR POINT OF ENTRY, ALONG WITH LOOKING FOR SIGNS OF OTHER PESTS. THE PRICE SEEMS FAIR FOR THE AMOUNT OF PRODUCT USED AND QUALITY OF WORK PERFORMED. I PARTICULARLY APPRECIATE THE 6 MONTH, NO COST GUARANTEE FROM BATZNER TO RE-TREAT FOR THE ANTS IF THEY SHOULD RETURN.
Description of Work: WE HAD BLACK ANTS IN THE KITCHEN AND BY THE PATIO DOOR IN OUR DINETTE AREA. AFTER TRYING WITHOUT SUCCESS TO TAKE CARE OF THE PROBLEM WITH COMMERCIAL PRODUCTS, WE NEEDED TO CONTACT A PEST CONTROL SERVICE. I CALLED COMPANIES IN OUR AREA RECOMMENDED BY ANGIE'S LIST AND SELECTED BATZNER PEST MANAGEMENT. AFTER ASSESSING THE SITUATION, DAVE FROM BATZNER DID A THOROUGH CHECK OF THE KITCHEN/DINETTE AREA, THE BASEMENT AND THE OUTDOOR PATIO STOOP, WHERE WE'VE HAD ANTS IN THE PAST. HE LOCATED A PROBABLE AREA WHERE WATER HAD DAMAGED WOOD SIDING AND EXPLAINED HOW CARPENTER ANTS COULD USE THIS AS AN ENTRY. WE DISCUSSED THE ACTION PLAN AND AFTER MY OK, HE PROCEEDED TO TREAT THE BASEMENT PERIMETER AND OUTDOOR PATIO STOOP WITH DUST AND FOAM INSECTICIDE, AND ALSO SPRAYED THE BASEBOARDS OF THE KITCHEN AND DINETTE. DAVE SAID IT MAY TAKE 2 WEEKS TO SHOW EFFECT AND IF THE ANTS REAPPEAR WITHIN 6 MONTHS, BATZNER WILL TREAT AGAIN AT NO COST TO US. IT ACTUALLY TOOK 3 WEEKS, BUT IT SEEMS WE ARE ANT FREE!

WHEN THE TECHNICIAN ARRIVED HE SAID HE ONLY HAD A 21 FOOT LADDER THAT HE DIDN'T THINK WOULD FIT INTO THE ATTIC (TO ME IT LOOKED LIKE AN 11 FOOTER THAT EXPANDS TO A 21). INSTEAD OF MAKING ANY ATTEMPT AT TAKING HIS LADDER OFF THE TRUCK, HE ASKED ME IF I THOUGHT IT WOULD FIT. I THOUGHT IT WOULD, BUT SAID, "PROBABLY NOT" ONLY BECAUSE I DIDN'T WANT HIM TO WASTE ANY MORE OF MY TIME. HE OBVIOUSLY DIDN'T WANT TO BE BOTHERED WITH TRYING TO DO HIS JOB.
