+ -1 moreService went fine. Although when I asked questions about the service and the results, they seemed annoyed to even answer my questions. I didn't feel they did a very good job of explaining what to expect... or being open to answering my questions after the fact. I'd choose someone else in the future that exhibits more professionalism. Update: After discussing with the service provider, I realized this was more of a misunderstanding than anything. I've updated their rating and even plan to work with them again in the future.

+ -1 moreNever met the guys!. Arranged for their services on telephone. They made an appointment, came at the appointed time, and completed the entire job while I was at work.. Fast, efficient, removed all the wood debris except for a few shavings. Left the stump at my direction. Very satisfied!

+ -1 moreIt was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. I didn't have a real strong feeling one way or the other. I mean they were alright. They seem to do a fine job, nothing that knocked me out or left me dissatisfied. They were relatively responsive. It wasn't a problem to make the appointment. I think they showed when they said they would. They got the work done. It didn't exceed expectations but I don't recall being disappointed. I think the price wasn't the best deal ever but I didn't feel like I was getting a raw deal.
Description of Work: American Tree Experts came and took some tree stumps out and they trimmed a little bit. It was more extensive than what was on the Big Deal. They charged me extra because I wanted more work done and they applied discount on certain amount of work. It wasn't something like $125 worth of work but I don't recall feeling like they pulled any kind of bait and switch.

+ -1 moreAbout 7:30 in morning a large Maple had fallen onto our driveway just missing our house. It was blocking the driveway. I called American Tree Experts and they were great. They were at the house within a half hour and cleared the driveway within an hour and half. Their price was very reasonable for an emergency call. I would absolutely use their service again.

+ -1 moreThese guys are great. Jesse Ziemienski came out to give us a quote and spent time with my wife to make sure she was comfortable with the work that needed to be done. His quote was competitive with other quotes we received - we used them because of the comfort in working with someone with his credentials. After securing their services, they came out quickly and did a beautiful job cleaning up the trees - they were damaged from the drought last year and now look healthy and beautiful, with an open canopy - what an incredible difference. They cleaned up the yard and driveway afterwards. I would highly, highly recommend them.

+ -1 moreFrom start to finish this company was outstanding! They were responsive, courteous and thorough. They were the first company that showed any interest, organization of the task at hand, ability to quickly schedule and follow through. Their customer service is superb and they were very accommodating to my need to have the brush chipped and removed quickly. The price was very reasonable as well. I can't recommend them enough! I will be calling them again in the near future for various other shrub and tree issues.
Description of Work: I had cut some lanky, mature, 6ft yew shrubs with ankle-thick branches to the ground and dragged them to my side driveway. They were too large and cumbersome to haul to the recycling center so I tried calling several businesses from Angie's List but found little interest in the job, but American Tree Experts quickly chipped and hauled away the entire brush pile within 2 days!

+ -1 moreTwo tree experts spent 3 1/2 hours pruning our four trees. They also noticed that a smaller tree had some split branches and took care of those for free. All debris was removed from the site, and our driveway was given one last blow off at the end. We were pleased by the work that was done. We now have much better-looking and healthier trees.
Description of Work: Four trees were crown cleaned. Dead wood, waterprouts and rubbing or crossing limbs were removed on a double-trunked towering ash, a large Norway maple, an ancient hawthorne, and a smaller maple.

+ 0 moreIt was a good deal! I still had to pay a bit extra. I think I got what I paid for, though. They did leave a bit of a hole when the tree was removed. I called to let them know I didn’t appreciate the hole and they came right back out and took care of that.

They may seem a little pricey but the service is worth it. They extended the life of a huge linden on my lot by ten years after it started splitting and rotting.

+ -1 moreJesse came out to give me an estimate of the work that i was considering and i scheduled the work several weeks later. he did a great job. pruned my magnolia tree as well as several others that were overhanging my house. he also cleaned up all the branches. he also recommended that i contact the city of milwaukee as one of the 'city' trees needed some attention. very nice.

+ -1 moreVery professional and knowledgeable. Jesse came out to give us an estimate and answered any questions we had about our trees and their conditions. We had been told by another tree service that we would need to remove some trees, Jesse took a look and saved us from removing trees that were actually healthy. We ended up having some trees trimmed and are having them come back to spray our fir trees which have a fungus in the spring. Their prices were fair and lower than other estimates we had received. The two gentlemen that came to do the work were very conscientious about our property. I had forgotten to remove a couple of bird houses from the trees and they had carefully removed them and placed them away from where they were working. They do quality work. Except for the fact the our trees looked great you would have never known they had been here, they did such a great job of clean up and removal. I would definitely recommend them and use them again.
Description of Work: Had 3 trees trimmed, cables put in 2 of trees that were healthy but could split because of how the trunk was growing and 4 fir trees being sprayed for fungus.

I was under a bit of time contraint because I needed the trees trimmed before a house painting job could begin - in three weeks. He was able to fit my job in. Although I accepted the estimate, I thought the price was a bit steep; however, Jesse was able identify a couple of unusual trees that were completely unknown to me and to offer expert advice on how to save 2 Austrian Pine trees that the previous homeowner basically abused. Matt arrived on schedule and was able to complete the job in one day. He was also very informative. He did a great job and I would call American Tree Experts again.
Description of Work: I required 7 trees to be trimmed and pruned. Two in the front yard, four in the backyard and 1 tree majorly overhanging from the neighbors yard.

Description of Work: We have a huge oak that was looming over our house. We wanted to have an arborist not just a tree trimmer come out to check out the health of the tree and do the trimming. They did a fantastic job and really knew what they were doing. They suggested cambistat for the health of the tree which was applied in spring after the ground thawed.

+ -1 moreVery satisfied. The trees looked good, the yard was cleaned up, there was almost no damage to the grass. I was especially pleased with how well they cleaned up and the trees looked great. Everything was done at the price quoted and they even threw in some cleanup on a small tree at no charge. My only regret was that I was out of town when the work was done, would have liked to watch some of the action. Recommended and will use again when the trees next need some pruning.
Description of Work: Removal of trunks leaning toward the houses, cleanup of deadwood, removal of low branches to 15', and general pruning of tree. Also gave us an idea on the health of the trees.

Description of Work: I actually did not go with this company because I got a bad 'vibe' from them. First, I called a couple of times to get the estimate scheduled and the guy (Jesse) was a bit arrogant on the phone--like he was doing me a favor, not like there are a hundred other tree services in the Yellow Pages. Then, when I had him come out for the estimate, he walked up to me and handed me an envelope containing his credentials. I'm glad he has the correct credentials, don't get me wrong, but I did not ask for them yet and it was not the right time in the conversation. Kind of like an ambulance chaser lawyer with a pinky ring. Then he proceeded to TELL me what I wanted done instead of ASKING. He also tacked on to the end of the estimate $500-something odd dollars worth of insecticide as part of the job for emerald ash borer when the other two guys told me we have no incidents near my area of the pest and that I would be wise to wait until it gets closer.... And he kind of insulted me for waiting so long to trim my trees. Hello, they are 40 feet up in the air!! So, the $1100 (without the insecticide) was for half of what I really wanted. Aggressive pruning of the two ash trees in the front yard and COMPLETE removal of the two big yucky box elders in the back is what I wanted, but he gave me an estimate for removing only half of each of the box elder trees and letting the other half of each stay there, and then told me the Power Company would have to cut the part around the wires, blah blah blah. So I never even asked him how much for what I really wanted because I had already decided I didn't want to do business with him.

+ -1 moreThey were very professional from the first contact to the removal of the dead limbs. The tree is doing well. When the village was trimming a tree on the parkway, they noted what an excellent job had been done on the Silver Maple.
Description of Work: We were concerned our silver maple tree might be hopelessly infected/dying. They did a crown cleaning, removed deadwood, water sprouts and rubbing/crossing limbs. They also trimmed the tree so it would clear the roof and removed dying limbs. Chemicals were applied to invigorate growth and improve drought tolerance. In addition, they removed a tree in the back yard that was too close to the house.

+ -1 moreI got an estimate from American Tree Experts for $750 to have a large maple in my yard trimmed. Which came out to $625 after the angieslist big deal. I was told at the time that they were fully scheduled for the next 5 weeks and would call when they could come out. I received a call about 5 weeks later and they came out the next day. They did an excellent job of trimming and cleaning up after themselves. I would definitely hire them again.
Description of Work: I purchased an Angieslist big deal for $125 which included $250 of service. I used it to have a large maple tree in my yard trimmed.
