They overcame problems with hidden structural features without any delays. Electrical and plumbing subcontractors were excellent as were the flooring and carpentry people. The only minor delays were experienced with the cabinet subcontractor, who was our choice, not Portside builders first choice.

Loved the work!! We gutted the bathroom and started over. I had an awkward cabinet in there that hid the slope of the stairs underneath ... my new custom cupboard is AWESOME! Loved most of the subcontractors ... thorough job!

We did not use Portside for our projects - but continued to obtain quotes and had excellent service from Tureks Services for the bathroom remodel and used Darboy Stone for the fireplace and Karl Friemuth as our mason. Karl was excellent as well.

He designed this and everything and it came out perfect.

Listened to my plans and made suggestions to logistically make it happen.

Requested contact for an estimate on 12/2/2013. Described briefly what we were looking for. Received message from contractor on 1/17/2014 that their email hadn't been working so they didn't know they had a message. We'd already received feedback from several contractors by 12/7/13 and estimates shortly thereafter. Advised contractor we were already taken care of.

I contacted Joe E. asking for an estimate on some remodeling I wanted done. He came to my home in a timely manner and we had a good talk about the project, but thats where the good experience ended. Joe E. seemed to just disappear after that, no communication what so ever, and it has been over 5 months since he was here. I called and emailed a month after his visit, but I got no reply.

Did all that they said they would do AND MORE! I don't know why they are listed under "Kitchen and Bathroom" as they do a LOT more than that!

Everything went well. This was our first remodel project and we couldn't be happier.

This was the first time I had ever had anything remodeled. The job was a kitchen and bathroom remodel, and the time frame was less than a month out to start the job. Portside Builders Inc, came right out and although we received quotes from others, they were confident they could start the job during our time frame and finish it within 3 weeks. They were all polite and very professional, from Joe at Portside to the flooring people. The remodel was primarily to add ease of use for an elderly person, enlarging the shower and adding grab bars there and in the bathroom, as well as reconfiguring the kitchen to add counter space, a dishwasher, new cabinets and maximize efficiency. There was one major hiccup during the job in which some miscommunication resulted in not having final kitchen plans to approve, but the kitchen turned out beautifully anyway. There were a few problems as expected once the demo was complete, there were some plumbing issues with the house and those were fixed immediately without delay. A few items were added and or upgraded, and those were seamlessly integrated into the job- again without a delay. There were some small things that went awry, however the project manager Randy made sure they were taken care of immediately. I was very impressed with how important it was for them to make sure every detail was to my satisfaction. The cabinet people, Valley Cabinets and Randy came back at the end to discuss some issues with the kitchen design, and came up with a perfect solution. A cabinet with drawers was added, and that took a few weeks to make but Randy kept in touch and came back to install it, as well as move the bathroom medicine cabinet over a few inches. The job is now complete and it looks fantastic. I would highly recommend using Portside Builders for any remodel job you have. They are polite and professional and everything is high quality, the workmanship is fantastic.

They were completely professional and invited us into their showroom to compare materials. They described the differences and explained why they selected certain materials for their quote. The job involved removing all wall covering to the studs. The demolition task ended up taking less time than anticipated and the subsequently offered to credit our final bill with the savings in labor. When I saw there was no insulation in our exterior wall they told me that if I provide the material, they would install it with no extra cost. The flooring came in on time and looks fantastic. Everything is exactly as promised.

They are general contractors and they get the subcontractors and do all the negotiations. We have been very pleased with how they do things. They seem to really have a good handle on subcontractors. They assign a person to make sure that everything is going correctly. They are fair and they are really attentive. They have a one-year warranty and if anything goes wrong they will take care of it. The price was reasonable.
