I don't know what happened to this one. I do think a "F" review is pretty harsh for someone to give to a contractor when they weren't home to take the calls.

I don't remember this issue and the best I can do is apologize. We get several job estimate requests and sometimes one might fall between the cracks.

Response from Woodrite Carpentry LLC
I always try to contact every member that is looking for an estimate for a project at their home or business. Mistakes can be made and it is always possible to miss a request. In this case, I don't recall a request from this person, nor do I recognize the person's name. I also checked the job requests on Angie's List and my business email and this persons name is not included There is obviously a mistake.

For this rebuild, we again chose cedar decking. Woodrite does offer the composite material decking as well, but cedar smells and looks so nice! The job took about 4-5 days, tear off to finish. Jerry built a storage box with a drop down door with the extra wood. A wonderful area to store the grill tools, etc. To summarize: We were extremely pleased with the work done by Woodrite Carpentry. The deck is again new- looking and sturdy. They moved the hot tub off and back on the new deck without damage or extra charges! The work was done in the time frame stated. The shrubs near the deck were not damaged. Everything was cleaned up well when they were finished. We would highly recommend Woodrite Carpentry without reservation!
Description of Work: Our home was built in 1988. When we moved in, we immediately looked to replace an existing wobbly 8x10 deck outside the kitchen patio door. We met Del, of Woodrite Carpentry at a home show. We hired him to build a custom three level elevated deck in 1997. It was constructed with all very good quality cedar and has 3 sections, one with a hot tub. There are three movable benches and a built in planter box as well. It is approx. 800sq ft with one flight of 5 steps. Well, after 15 years, wear and tear was beginning to show. The biggest problem was that the hot tub had leaked, leaving wet rotting wood under it.. It was sinking on one side. We did not hesitate to call Del back to come and take a look. He pointed out that many other areas of the deck needed replacing. We agreed with his plan to rebuild the deck, on the existing footings. He and his head carpenter, Jerry, would move the empty tub off the rotting portion of the deck. The plan was to tear off and replace all horizontal decking, hand rails, and stairs. Also rebuild the planter box and replace a couple rotting posts( due to many animal and bird visits). The vertical posts of the railings are good. This consult took place Sept of 2011. . Del explained he was behind schedule due to weather issues and could not start our deck until the following spring. Without our asking, they came back to add supports under the hot tub!

Prompt estimate given, very knowledgeable, professional, and informative without being pushy. Owner came out himself, and returned calls rather quickly. I was able to make informed choices without any pressure tactics. Work was done on time. Deck looks great. Actual carpenter who did the work was courteous, cleaned up after himself, and was considerate of my need to let dogs out occasionally and work around my 3rd shift schedule. My only concern is that no follow-up phone call, written details, or visit was conducted to provide me the information I would need for care of the deck/wood to ensure it will last me several years.
Description of Work: New deck constructed after I removed the old deck myself. Deck consists of hardwood flooring and steps on 2 different sides, with cedar railings and spindles.
