TOM'S HANDY SERVICES

Tom is a great guy. He is a character. He showed up when he said he would. He did what he said he would do. Workmanship was good. We had no problems. When some additional items came up that I asked him to do there was no hesitation. His pricing was more than fair. I would definitely use him again.

I placed over a dozen phone calls to Tom over a two week period and never received a response. That is unprofessional.

Found and repaired the leak. No issues since. Great service, great guy.

Tom sealed our masonry chimney. The chimney runs the full height of the house (which includes a partially exposed basement) Tom was very personable and responsive. Cost was reasonable!

He was quick, efficient, did good work and was on his way.

Left a message with my number the last week of November. It is now the last week of December. Never got a call back.

I was very pleased with Tom, he did an awesome job and was very conscientious. However as I expected when you have someone that does good work they usually find enough to keep real busy. My only complaint is that I wanted to use him on future projects and I cannot even get him to return my call. After trying about 4 times I figured he was not interested in any additional work. I just wish he would have had the courtesy to tell me that with a return call. So I will continue my search for a good handyman to handle the projects that need to be done.The reason for the f under professionalism is that he did not return my calls.

Tom promptly answered all of our questions with respect to the materials we were purchasing to prepare for him to start work. He always showed up on time and worked long enough to make rapid progress. He kept the work area very tidy. Despite working on his own, the work proceeded very quickly. He was able to complete a full bathroom and laundry room makeover in less than three weeks. As we were paying for his services hourly, we were totally satisfied with the value received. We were extremely satisfied with his work effort, craftsmanship, and demeanor. The job turned out beautifully. We are extremely satisfied with the way the bathroom and laundry room turned out. We are looking forward to the next opportunity to contract Tom for our kitchen.

Tom was great and easy to work with from start to finish. His quote was extremely fair. He listened to us and was flexible with what we wanted to do. He was friendly and communicative through the whole process. We would definitely use him again. He is very skilled and a jack of all trades.

Tom returned a phone call very promptly and was very friendly on the phone. We set a date and time for him to come and look at the job proposed and for him to give advice and an estimate. it seemed to be something that he was open to doing. When the date and time came, he failed to show up. No call from him. I called him that day. No response. Called him today, leaving a message asking him if he could at least let me know if he was no longer interested?.or if he wanted to try and set a new appointment. The day is done and no call. Thus this review. Hopefully he is not hurt and just decided it was ok to blow me off. I am blown off and have called another service. Looking forward to writing a more positive review than this one.

Tom responded promptly to my first enquiry via Angie's List. We made arrangements for him to come out and provide a quote for upgrading our bathrooms. He arrived at our home on time. We liked him and thought he would be reasonable. Tom said he would get back to us with a quote. Several weeks went by without any contact. I finally emailed and asked if he was still interested. He indicated that he was, that he had been busy and trying to find a new cabinet maker, he would be in touch. A few more weeks go by, and I email again. This time there was and has been no response whatsoever. I would rather him to have been straight with us if he didn't want the job, rather than waist our time.

Tom is the best! He has a wide-range of skills and is fun to be around. He works quickly and competently. The only hesitancy I have is that If I tell the truth about how a great his home remodel and repair skills are--he will be too busy to help me the next time I need him.

Tom returned my initial call very quickly, coming out to my house to look at the project. We scheduled a good time to complete a few days later. Existing tile surrounding glass block window in shower was pooling water, becoming discolored. Original plan was to only replace a section of tile, however after speaking to wife, decided to replace entire surround. Thankfully, Tom accommodated the last minute change. He got right to work replacing the tile and cement board. Tom seemed very knowledgeable and was very easy to talk to. During the job, you could tell Tom is very detail oriented. Many times what looked even or straight to me, did not meet his standard. It's obvious that he takes pride in his work, and isn't trying to cut corners. After finishing up with the tile, Tom cleaned up after himself, and ensured we were happy with the outcome. We are extremely pleased with the job Tom did, will plan on using his services in the future.

It was good. He was quick and cleaned well. It was all pretty easy. Everything was positive with my experience.

Tom is a pleasure to work with. He is a fun guy, full of cheer while he works. He's knowledgable, competent, and a problem solver. His work is great. He works quickly and considers how to save the homeowner money. He has a broad array of skills from carpentry to simple plumbing and electrical. He also seems very honest. He was able to fix a few items on our list in under 5 minutes. He didn't try to turn simple problems into major projects. We will call him again!

Tom was just great. We've used him twice, he came on time, worked fast, knew what he was doing and saved us a ton of money we would have spent on other providers. We will absolutely call him again.

Tom was fantastic to deal with. Always prompt. Always working. Pleasant and congenial. I just wish all contractors were like Tom. He basically rebuilt our entire bathroom, except for the tub, all by himself. Materials were $7,500 and Tom's fee was roughly $4,500 (includes some materials he supplied) for almost an entire month's worth of work. The quality and detail of Tom's work was great. Both my wife and I are extremely happy with our new and beautiful bathroom. Next year, we will have a kitchen project and we will use Tom again, 100% guaranteed. Cannot speak highly enough about Tom as a person and more so, for the quality of his work.

We would recommend Tom to anyone wanting a job well done. He helped us out in a pinch as we needed a whole bathroom (we gutted ourselves) done in under 3 weeks. He worked hard and later hours to get the job done before the deadline. Tom is a very detail oriented person and it shows in his work. Our bathroom is beautiful with new granite tile walls and porcelain floors. His sense of humor made a stressful time MUCH more tolerable ( I told him he should be a part time comedian!). He did a great job in a timely manner and with complete professionalism at a very reasonable rate. I had originally planned on going with Home Depot, as I thought they would be the most reasonably priced. I was wrong. When I got their quote, I almost fell over, and went to Angie's list to find another contractor instead. I'm glad I did. I checked out several, and when Tom came in, we clicked. He is all business when he needs to be, but he has a real sense of humor. He's a perfectionist, and the work shows. He's also great about giving his honest opinion on additional ideas and updates we made as we went through the process, and I was grateful for his expertise. He shows up when he says he will, and left a clean workspace at the end of the day. If you call him, leave a message. Since he's the one doing all the work, he checks his messages after the work is done. He did respond to all of my calls and messages within a reasonable time frame as well. I'll definitely use him again for any additional projects, I already have him scheduled to replace some entry doors to my home. Great guy, and the kitchen looks fantastic.

Tom gave our bathroom a much needed face lift! He extended the shower stall, tiled the stall, including the floor, installed inset shelving in the stall, installed the new faucets, and also tiled the bathroom floor. He is very friendly and easy to work with. He was trustworthy and personable. I didn't feel like I needed to keep extra tabs on the work being done. I would definitely contact him again for other bigger jobs around the house, like bathrooms or kitchen refacing. I have already recommended him to friends.

He did a good job and I haven't had any problems

We have worked with Tom's Handy services for years. He always does a great job. This most recent work was no different. He continues to provide excellent service for us and our homes.

The work he did was absolutely perfect. He corrected a situation of mildew that could have turned into mold and I was very thankful for that. The bathroom now looks gorgeous and looks much larger now.

He did all necessary framing day one, electrician day two and Tom came back day three and hung the drywall, taped and got the first coat of mud on and I finished the rest. Tom is easy to work with, knowledgeable and competitively priced. I will certainly call him again.
