They built us a home, and left us with wet basement walls. After arbitration with the Metropolitian Builders Association the fix for the basement was that the foam be secured at ground level on the exterior. Therefore, putting a financial burden on us to repair the basement ourselves. Exterior brick has smeared mortar, cracking mortar joints, broken weep holes, discolored mortar and discolored brick. The mortar was never cleaned during construction with a simple brush. Quality Crafts Homes' quick fix was washing the brick with acid after a year and a half of the mortar being cured. Leaving the exterior brick a disaster. Nothing was ever repaired properly. Between the labor and the material this ended up being a $50,000 mistake made by Quality Craft Homes. What good is a home warranty if it's not honored? Attempting to repair the basement walls, water continued to seep in. We hired an engineer to find out that it's not our basement causing the problem, it's the exterior brick filtering water down to the basement. We have a Wisconsin State Code violation of mass mortar (no air space). Another violation is missing weep holes throughout the exterior brick. We also have Technical Specification violations. We have no control joints on the brick and flashing at all horizontal areas, we have none to direct the water out. All of these violations are estimated at $120,000.00. The State of Wisconsin has investigated this workmanship and they agreed that we do have the violations.

I just happened to run into the head of the company when I was looking at homes in the area and I got to know him. I?ve been working with them since February and they have been tremendously helpful. They are helping me to find all the information I need about the type of home I want. I?m building something that is green, and not many builders are willing to take on a project like that. They are just excellent, and I find their price very good. I would rate them highly overall.
