I was pleased with CT Refinishing's work. They were considerably less expensive than another refinisher that I had contacted. While they were a little late picking up the piece (half hour?), they had warned they might be. I would definitely use them again.

When I purchased the deal I was not aware of the fact that I would need to bring the furniture to them. And even for me to see if the deal would even work, I would have to drive an hour away just to find out.

We are extremely happy with the results. The dressers look like new. CT Refinishing was very easy to work with. They were always quick to return phone calls and punctual in their work. I have no complaints and would highly recommend them.

Charles gave us an estimate & they took the desk & chair the same day. Our desk is very old and dark wood that had been antiqued in a green color. In a very short time Charles called to say the desk & chair had been completed. The finish & color are exquisite! They also fixed a hole in the body of the desk, which I'd never even asked them to do. The chair had swirls & grooves in the wood, and they'd removed every dot of color & finished it to match the desk perfectly. They also polished the hardware. The desk & chair look better than the original, before it had been antiqued. It was my dad's old desk, and he'd be proud to see it restored to this color and condition. We've used Charles before & will definitely do so again. My husband made the comment that "almost makes me want to go out & buy something so they can refinish it!"

I bought a big deal for this service and it was good. They did a good job, however the match is not as good as it could be, but I did not want to complain about it because at least it is done and it is a good job. It is good although I would not say it is excellent. If I had more time I would probably tried to have them re-match it but it would have been too much work. It is close enough.

Charles is awesome to work with. I sent him pictures of the vanity via cellphone. He contacted me immediately with the cost minus the Angie's list Big Deal. Note: The final amount included the Angie's list Big Deal. Charles contacted me the next day to set up an app't for him to come over to my house in Brown Deer to get things started. Charles and assistant, Greg, prepped the vanity, the doors and drawers were taken off along with hinges and were taken to his place of business. The stain for the drawers and doors was matched to the color of another cabinet I had in the same area via a shelf. Once that process was done Charles called me to make an app't to concentrate on the cabinet itself. Charles and Greg performed the work together. Charles is very precise in how he wants his final product to look. When he brought the drawers and doors back to my house to be installed he discovered that the stain did not match to his liking. He took the drawers and doors back to his shop to be redone. Once that was completed, he brought the drawers and doors back to my house to be installed. This time everything was perfect. He installed the new hardware I purchased and even sprayed the hinges to match the hardware. I would definitely recommend Charles and the people who work for him. You will definitely not go wrong with your selection. I will definitely use his service again. Charles is on Facebook so check out some of the final products he has restored.

The gentleman and his wife came the first day. They were very pleasant. They took the rocking chair with them. I did not hear from them couple for several weeks and so I called. He stated that the work was delayed due to high humidity. I understood this but would have liked to have received a follow-up phone call to let me know this. When the rocking chair was returned to me, it was much better. However I could still see the groove where my Nephew had run his little matchbox car over. I was surprised the groove was still visible. The chair was a gift to me by a friend who had since passed so it means alot to me. Had I done the work myself, I would have been sure to sand away the groove. The stain was matched up nicely.

The service so far is excellent, and I like working with him. He is in constant communication with me, if I send an email to him through Angie's List, he replies immediately, and he is very personable when you talk to him on phone. He was also very nice when he came to pick the doors. He is going to wait until I am back from vacation, and I told him there was no rush, and his wife is not feeling too well, so I understand, and he understands my situation. It has been good so far. He let me split the price up, because he took the shelves from the cabinet I want, and I paid him half, and when he finishes the rest of the vanity, I will pay him the other half. His responsiveness is excellent.

Everything went wonderful! He was always on time and really cared about the furniture and did some small extra touch ups for no additional charge.

I happen to pick it up last week and it is gorgeous. They did extra work without charging me for it. They are just really wonderful people, very polite, very professional and just really awesome.

They did a really nice job. It is in a better condition than when they came out. The owner is easy to work with and very accommodating. He is very skillful and helpful if we are to work in the future. He is very wonderful.

When the desk was delivered, it sported two new hand turned dowels.Knobs & trim has been replaced. Drawers no longer pushed further in then they should as stops had been added. The drop down desk had new hinges.But I was amazed at the new finish. I have owned this desk for almost 50 years and never knew how beautiful the front of the desk was due to the years of wear. The grain of the wood is highlighted by the stain they chose. It is truly an heirloom piece that can be handed down for generations. My only complaint is it took far longer than expected to get the desk back. This was due to the subcontractor they used to create the hand turned dowels being out if the country with the finished dowels locked in his workshop. Because it took longer than expected CT Refinishing did not charge for the dowels or delivery.

It is gorgeous and they even did the inside of the drawers. The wood was beautiful and the drawers were dove tailed. I am enjoying it immensely

CT Refinishing did a beautiful job. They didn't finish until a few weeks after they said they'd have the table done, but this wasn't a problem for me since I wasn't in a hurry. Also, it's important for anyone who purchases a Angie's List "Big Deal" as I did to note the fine print ... CT refinishing doesn't actually do the entire job for the stated rate; rather, they give "credit" towards the total job price. I didn't catch this initially, so the job ended up costing twice what I'd expected when I purchased the "Big Deal". And to be clear: Their work was great & I'd use them again.

I was unable to drop off the furniture in a timely fashion due to my husband's long-term hospitalization earlier this year. As the offer deadline approached, I stopped at the shop with my items the week of July 14 but no one was in the shop. The door was unlocked but no one was around at the time so I left. I called on Friday to see if I should arrange for an appointment instead but no one returned my phone call. I realize this is partly my fault but at this time I no longer wish to pursue the refinishing request.

Our dog had chewed off the back portion of a rocker on my grandma's old rocking chair. Charles suggested that it be repaired by adjusting the undamaged rocker to equal the "chewed" one, since there was not alot of difference in length. This worked out great and saved us the cost of having a new rocker made. The rocking chair looked great after Charles completed the repair and refinishing!

A number of years ago, renters of my furnished home placed hot pots and glasses on my teak dining room table, which left numerous white marks, and raised grain. I had tried everything I could to repair the table myself but was not successful. I consulted the furniture store I purchased the table from and they quoted me an outrageous price of over $1000 to repair the table, although they admitted they weren't sure the table was even repairable. I decided to forego repairing the table and instead cover it, temporarily. Eleven years later, I had joined Angie's List and noticed a furniture refinishing deal posted by CT Refinishing. I purchased the deal on line and within a few hours I received a call from Charles, the owner. After reviewing the problem, he scheduled a time the following week to come out and see the table, free of charge. He was very punctual, in fact he actually arrived 20 minutes early and was waiting in his truck until the time of our appointment. Charles looked at the table and explained the process. He suggested that he refinish both leaves, along with the table, as some pieces had been exposed to the light more than the others. He also added a special finish to protect the table from the accidental water ring. I was comfortable with his level of knowledge, his professionalism and explanations so we agreed upon a time when he would begin. I had waited eleven years so I wasn't in a hurry. He also understood that I was under a strict budget so he gave me the option to bring the table top to him which saved me approximately $50. (As a sidebar, I was able to see where he does his work. Obviously his work requires use of chemicals and sanding, yet I was very impressed how clean the space was. It showed me how serious they took their work and how respectful they were of the furniture pieces. Which by the way, I felt I was in a museum.) Charles and a co-worker delivered the finished table top pieces and assembled the table. Honestly, I am in awe of how good the table looks. I am thoroughly happy with my experience with CT Refinishing. I have complete confidence in Charles and his team and will use him again. (Full self-disclosure, I am a high-maintenance customer. I rarely can find a service provider that can meet my expectations, but CT Refinishing has.)

Charles was punctual in arriving and in fact was early. (One of my pet peeves has always been when I expect someone at a predetermined time and they are LATE.) He was very informative about the table. I also had 4 Pressed Back chairs that I wanted to know if they were real pressed back or if they were a reproduction. He assured me that they were genuine. I would have liked to have been able to "pick his brain" with all of the information he had stuck in his head. I look forward to seeing Charles again when he delivers my furniture and can't wait until I see the the restored "pub" table.

Chairs are now solid as a rock and the buffet is just gorgeous. Had no idea that beauty was buried under the crust and grime.

CT Refinishing refinished 8 dining room chairs for us. They were antique chairs that were in pretty rough shape. They worked with us to find a price that fit with our budget. We could have had them completely stripped down and started over from scratch, but we did not want to spend that kind of money. They worked with us to figure out what they could do to make the chairs look excellent without going to the extreme (so we ended up paying 50-75 per chair instead of 150). The chairs look fantastic - like new.
