The evening of July 19 a severe storm hit our area. A large part of a tree fell in my yard and in the process bent the iron conduit pole on the roof that the power lines run into. Not only was the whole neighborhood without power, but until I was able to have an electrician come to fix the pole, I would not have any power whatsoever even when the power company got things going again. On my lunch the next day I proceeded to call about 10 - 12 electricians. One had done work for me before but was already booked with repair jobs for the next 4 days. He did however come out late that evening, looked at the job and quote me approx $500 if he would have been able to do it (I found out this price after Luke's gave me his estimate). Luke Wachowiak, owner of Luke's Electric did answer his phone when I called. He told me he would have to contact the power company to disconnect the lines from the house before he could do anything. He said he would go out and look at it but would be able to fix it. I called him back several hours later and left a message asking if he had been to the house or what the status was. He called back about 45 minutes later to tell me the job would cost $1000 parts and labor. I said ok at the time but then called him back about 10 minutes later and told him I wanted my brother to look at the problem before I did anything. I called him back about 30 minutes later to tell him to go ahead, but when I started asking questions about the re-hook up and would the fact that the lines run over the garage be a problem he informed me he couldn't do the job anymore and hung up on me. At that point it was 6pm at night and there was no one else I could call at that time of night to do the job. Needless to say I was very disappointed and upset with the complete lack of professionalism he displayed. I was even more upset when the company I did find came out and did the job for two-thirds the price Luke's had quoted me!
