 + -1 moreThe roof went fine. They were supposed to leave roofing and did not. There was a package of roofing left that they carried off. I called they because there was a leak by one of the chimnies. The owner said he would come out and look at it. When I called to ask later when they were comming he stated that someone was out and fixed the problem . It must have been fixed because the roof does not leak any more. My problem is when the owner says he is going to come out and does not that does not give me a good feeling. Also we are home most of the time and did not see the worker come out and repair the leak. So we dont know what they did??? The owners bedside maner need improvement as a customer likes to feel he is being taken care of and expects to see the person when they claim he is comming around..

 + -1 moreMy wife and I recently purchased a home. We knew that the roof needed to be replaced. It was a hassle and expense that we weren't looking forward to. I met Derek through a local Home Builders Association networking event. We spoke briefly about his company and trade, but nothing more. It seems like each time I ran into him, I would ask him and quot;just one more questionand quot; about roofing. Over time, I asked him questions about specific shingles types, pricing, tear off, sheeting, ect. Needless to say, when Derek offered to take a look at my roof and give me some specific examples and resolutions; I accepted. I never felt like Derek was selling anything. While he was working, he gave me updates on the progress and informed me on the next steps. A few days after the work was completed, we had a heavy rain. The next day Derek checked in to make sure we were still happy with the roof. We most certainly were. We've had many compliments on the new metal shake/shingle roof. I would pass along Derek's name without hesitation.
Description of Work: DTK Builders (Derek Myhand) performed a complete roof replacement. They tore off the shingle roof and old gutter guards. They replaced 2 waved underlayment boards. He replaced the roof with a metal shingle that looks like cedar shake. Derek also replaced all the gutter guards. The metal shake roof is really something to be seen (neat and different...it looks good). Derek re-routed a downspout for better water flow and less chance for ice build-up.

 + -1 moreWe would recommend DTK Builders LLC to anyone! What a great group of guys! We really hated to see them leave! You can feel confident that they will do a fine job for you! (See above.) And you can't beat their prices or their warranties!!!
Description of Work: I called DTK Builders LLC to see if I could get an estimate on the cost to take off the old shingles on our country home and replace with new shingles or possibly a metal roof. From the start, we were impressed on how fast our request was taken care of. In a few days, Derek, the owner of DTK Builders, was sitting in our home explaining the procedure and answering all our questions. He was very polite, very patient and very professional. We could tell he knew what he was talking about and had been in the business for a long time. We felt very comfortable with him from the very start. Several times I called him on the phone and he always picked up and answered all my questions. After deciding we wanted a metal roof, Derek again came out to show us more samples of metal and helped us make our selection. At that time he measured the entire roof for both of the buildings and gave us an invoice with an approximate start time. Again, we were impressed. This was too good to be true! From that moment on, DTK Builders LLC took charge and we sat back and watched the magic happen. The starting target dates were correct and the crew handled everything with ease. This is a hard working group of guys who showed up exactly when they said they would and worked in all kinds of bad weather. Derek and his crew go over and above what is expected of them. We have a beautiful new metal roof and we love it! Thank you DTK Builders, LLC.

 + -1 moreAfter finally receiving and estimate on the work to be performed, I needed a much more in depth estimate including price per square footage to get specific items covered by my insurance company. At that point, all communication from them ended. They also claimed to do inspections to my insurance agent that they had never done, and told me they had not done when I asked them about he told me straight out he had never climbed on the roof to inspect anything.I was told they would send another guy over to do patch work on my roof. He never called. When I called back to let them know the contractor never showed up, I was told "I am currently on vacation, but Ill give the guy a call." The guy never called, and I never heard from anyone again. That was enough to tell me they had no interest in doing the job. I got the impression that since I was not contracting them to do an entire roof tear off, complete siding, and full replacement of my 3 season porch, that they didnt want to do the job. MUCH of the work they said I needed was unnecessary. Everything was over exaggerated. An $85.00 roof patch job was stated to need a complete siding tear off and re-wrap. Very disappointing especially after they boasted themselves as being up front guys.
Description of Work: Absolutely NO services were performed.

 + -1 moreGreat! What I liked best was that it was obvious they were experienced and they gave us a written warranty for 20 years on the labor as well as having a warranty on the materials used.
Description of Work: In one day, a crew of 6 tore off two layers of shingles and old tar paper and replace it with high quality products. They protected the landscaping and cleaned up the mess when they left.

 + -1 moreThey have the best warranties that i found around from any other contractor. Our home was very well taken care of, they cleaned up very well and left our home looking better than what it was. I would definatly recommend them to anyone.
Description of Work: They provided us with a new roof. they tore off the old roof and gave us a proper installation that will hold up to the manufacure's warranty, they checkd everything from our insulation to our venting to make sure it was all up to standards.

 + 0 morethe owner came out and measured everything and then discussed wha we would get from his company in detail, we were very pleased with this. hen the crew showed up and started the project. They were very polite and took care of our every question they made sure or property was left exactly as it was before they showed up.
