Extensive work had to be done to the outside of our house to make the chase large enough for the furnace and get it to code (we did cover this cost). Dave organized a construction company to get that work done and then spent many hours to make all the necessary changes to bring the fireplace to code. He is a professional, Although he only bought the assets of the company, he knows how important it is to protect it's good name and he fixed this problem that initiated with Lanz. He was a pleasure to work with.
Description of Work: We discovered while doing a cold air fix that our fireplace was not installed to code. It was installed by Lanz long before Dave bought the company. We had to make the necessary changes to bring it to code and fix the cold air/draft problem.

It went great! I was the General Contractor for our new home so I worked directly with the people performing the work. Dave K and his crew were professional, hard workers, and available. They installed a high efficiency furnace, state of the art high tech high efficiency water heater, heat pump, high efficiency fire place, in floor heating, air exchange unit, and all the necessary plumbing and ductwork that was needed. And when it was all done he came out to tutor me on the thermostat that controlled everything. Whenever I have called with questions or something needed adjustments the response was immediate. Building this house was not an easy task and some of the contractors were not good to deal with, Lanz however was one of the best!
Description of Work: Installed HVAC system in our new home.

.Perfect. Awesome job. Professional. Timely. Communicative. I chose to purchase a top of the line boiler, one that is going to last, and there is a price for that. However, I started saving money on hot water and the boiler right away, and since I intend to live at my home for more than 10 years, I expect to get every penny back when and if I sell the house someday. The hot water system loop that ties into the boiler is fabulous. My wife and I can take a half hour shower, each, with no hot water loss. It's far less expensive in the long run than an on-demand that needs $300/year kit to clean. Hot bath, wait 15 minutes, and you have a full tank of hot water to keep the tub hot. I expect to be able to fill a new deep, steeping/ bubble tub with no problem. The crew were all on time, they didn't mind me watching ( I always recommend taking the day off to be there at the house so there is no guesswork by the crew on what you want), they had a plan, and, you have to believe me, they let me reclaim about 100 square feet of my home! The old boiler was this spiderous monstrosity of pipes, taking up the main room in the basement. They re-routed it to a wall unit the size of a dehumidifier, and then they reclaimed the space from the 50 gallon water heater, and it became a small garbage can size unit hanging on the wall next to the boiler. I regained the main room of my basement and the old footprint of the water heater. It's going to be an exercise room now instead of an eyesore. They respected my basement contents with all the water splashing about in the job. They kept all my idiot cats inside the house despite all the chances for escape. Dave K patiently explained all my questions to my satisfaction. They kept their parts tidy and organized, their tools were right at hand, so there was not time wasted rummaging around for parts, no trips back to the shop for the rare tool. They removed and reused my old pipes where possible without breaking them, they used copper where they needed, and the sweat joints (solder) are extremely clean and as good as the work of the Master Plumber (Olson's Plumbing) that re-did the basement last year. They are waiting for cooler weather to put the bird-cap on my now unused chimney flue. They could have walked on my brand new and 120'F roof to just get it done, but they don't want to ruin a new roof. They drilled two new holes through old, brittle brick expertly, there is no visible damage where the vent cap and dryer vent come through the house. They even matched the grout color in my brick (rose)! They didn't have to take the time and effort to, they didn't ask, they just matched my grout. One of the vent pieces was broken by the factory, and they had a replacement part installed the next day. They followed my requests to put some T's in the gas line, getting me ready for a future stove top, and a gas fireplace that I am very likely to have Lanz install as well this Fall or next. I am totally satisfied and happy with my choice of Lanz. If I ever put a split-zone AC in, when I put the gas insert in, when I need any service for my new boiler or water heater, I will happily call Lanz without hesitation.

Their employees are very courteous and always call before they come. The office staff is nice when you call to make an appointment. They are very business-like and answer your questions. They have also installed a gas fireplace for us before and we were very pleased with their service then also. We have used them for approximately 30 years.
Description of Work: They came and checked over my furnace, replaced my filter, and made sure it was running.
