It could not have gone better. Mike fit us in within two weeks of giving us the estimate, gave us the 24-hour notice he promised and arrived at exactly 9:00 am as he said he would. We can't say enough about the skill and professionalism of the crew. They began by laying down 3/4 inch plywood sheets from the driveway all the way down to the tree, which was near the back property line. The plywood combined with the skill of Mike and his crew operating the equipment used to remove the limbs and grind the stump meant that no damage whatsoever was done to the gardens or to the surrounding grass. All four men showed care in working around the plantings. They quickly and efficiently brought the branches and trunk down, with the climber skillfully sawing and dropping the limbs so they fell close to the tree without disturbing any plantings. They carefully hauled the branches to the road and fed them into their grinder. They cut the trunk into stools and wafers as we requested and cleaned up the entire area spic and span. All in under four hours. The word "professional" keeps coming to mind to describe Johnson Tree Care. Another word is "expert." They know what they're doing. And are genuinely friendly. Mike is a hands-on business owner who delivered for us. We couldn't recommend him and his crew more highly.

The whole process, from Michael coming to give an estimate to the removal of the one tree and trimming of others, to clean up went extremely well. The price was reasonable. They even threw in fixing a "root-bound" problem on one birch for nothing. We are recommending them to people and would definitely use them again!

They were prompt, efficient and cleaned up afterwards. They cut up the smaller pieces into fireplace/woodstove size that we could use. Very please with their work.

Johnson Tree & Shrub Care LLC did an excellent job in this tree removal. The two hackberry trees were large - 60+ fee tall and it was a very windy day. The four man crew were conscientious and careful in their work. When cutting the limbs from these tall trees they were meticulous in ensuring the large limbs were cut and lowered via rope, rather than simply lopping off the branches and letting them fall. They took care not to impact the fence around the backyard, and performed a very thorough cleanup.

Excellent experience. Mike and his crew did an excellent job of removing our silver maple in our back yard. He returned all of our calls in a timely manner & did a very acceptable job of clean up. They laid out large plywood planks to protect our lawn from their heavy equipment. Not only does Mike and his crew do fantastic work, but Mike is a super nice guy to work with. He also had the lowest of the 4 bids we got!

Perfect work. Showed up when they said they would. Minimized impact on lawn. Immaculate cleanup and debris removal. These guys exceeded my best expectations.

Provider did a great job. Was here on time, did the work for a very good price , cleaned up after themselves and were ver professional. I have used them in the past and they have always done a great job.

I contacted him to take care of some tree stumps. He stopped by shortly after and provided free advice on how to take care of the problem on my own. Nice person and very helpful.

It was an excellent experience. We contacted 3 different places for estimates. Mike was the only to respond. He was quick with an estimate and the work was performed 3 days later. They layed down boards so the trucks would not hurt the grass. He told me the cleanup would be such that we would never know they were here and that was the case. We are very pleased with the work and wouldn't hesitate to contact him again. Mike was friendly and very accommodating. Thank you for a job well done.

The job was handled expertly. The workers were very skilled and friendly. They put plywood down on my lawn so their truck would do no damage, clean-up and removal of all the substantial limbs and smaller trimming was excellent. I have used Johnson Tree Service several times over the years and have always been impressed. Mike, the owner, is very helpful and his prices are very fair.

We contacted the company in August. They came out immediately to give us an estimate. I accepted the estimate within two days and was told it would take 2-3 weeks to get scheduled. The morning the job was scheduled they called to cancel. I called and left messages with them FOUR times over the next two months to see when they were going to come out and finish the job we had contracted them to do. I NEVER got a call back from them. If you are unable to do the job you were hired to do you should have enough professionalism to call and let the people know so they can find someone else. Not returning phone calls is unprofessional and I don't know how this company stays in business. I will never call them again, they were a huge waste of my time and now I have had to hire someone else at higher cost to get the job done in the short time frame I needed. Don't waste your time contacting this company, even if you do get a quote they won't show up to do the work.

I called for estimates and got a call back within a day. I spoke with him on a Friday. He said he would be out to do the estimates the following Monday or Tuesday. He did not show up for this. I called him a week later to see when he would be coming. He stated that he had a large job that had been keeping him busy. I understand that, but a call would have been appreciated. He did come to estimate a few days later. My husband was home at the time and spoke directly with the gentleman. Once he left, he was gone and we never heard anything from him again. He did not leave or send an estimate for the proposed work in the mail. So not only did he waste my time in tracking him down, he wasted his own time by not even providing an estimate for us to evaluate. We will never hire this company.

Mike Johnson did the estimate the same day as the call we made to him. He left an estimate with us. He was friendly, polite and answered all our questions. The same evening we received a follow up call. And the next day Mike and his crew came and completed the work in a timely and efficient manner.

On April 23, 2014 we had Johnson Tree service cut down a very large Honey Locust that was planted in the late 1950?s to early 1960?s. It was complicated by being very close to 2 houses and roughly 15 to 20 feet from a utility pole that feeds power and cable to the 2 houses. Mike took care of contacting MG&E and we were only without power of a few hours. They did a very efficient job of cutting down the tree, removing it, grinding down the stump, and cleaning everything up afterwards. I will not hesitate to call them again in the fall to trim a very old Oak tree in the back yard. In the interest of honesty and full disclosure I will say that when I left for work in the morning the fencepost supporting a chain link fence at the top of the driveway was straight. When I came home in the afternoon it was bent. It was not a big deal to push it back up straight but?

The work on Sat., Dec. 22, 2012 was professional and done on time. However, we never received a receipt for the price paid upfront and only received one call-back after about a half-dozen phone calls. We were told they would come to remove the stumps, but we never got another phone call and they didn't remove the stumps. We then used Jim's Tree Service, which was excellent, and did a significant amount more work at a more responsible price. Johnson's Tree Service also never would send a receipt for the amount paid, which we needed to submit to insurance, despite multiple phone calls. We were very disappointed given initial positive impressions.

Service was prompt and of high quality. Mike was open to a slight price negotiation.

Our experience with Michael and crew was excellent. Michael gave us the estimate on the same day that he assessed the work to be done. The scheduling of the work was done in a timely manner. Michael and the crew worked together efficiently, professionally and the cleanup was beyond our expectations, they did an excellent job. They used the chipper to dispose of the smaller branches and hauled away the large pieces. They left us split-able pieces of the oak trimmings for our use, as requested. We will definitely hire him again for future work and highly recommend his company!

Michael is a very friendly person to interact with. He walked with me through the job beforehand and prior to doing the work. After the first visit (to see what needed to be done) I didn't hear from him. He was going to send an estimate by email and I didn't receive it. I called him again to follow-through and he gave me an estimate over the phone. The price was a little high, I think, but I did agree to it.

They arrived 15 minutes later than estimated due to frozen equipment, but called on time to let us know what had happened. They used a bobcat to move the snow out of the way, then removed the trees quickly and carefully. The two shorter trees were removed with one cut on the trunk while directing the direction of fall with a rope. The larger tree was removed by having one person climb the tree and remove most of the branches, then cutting the top third of the tree while directing the direction of fall. The stumps were cut at ground level as requested, and the wood chips were left in a pile, also as requested by us. Additionally, we were offered more wood chips if we needed them. All the larger twigs were also raked and removed. We were impressed with the work and would definitely hire them again.

The company responded promptly to our request for a bid and then returned to the house with the necessary equipment and person-power quickly, upon our acceptance of the bid. They were very professional in all aspects.
