No problems. The repairs were done quickly and at estimated cost. The staff was very helpful when I asked questions about reinstallation of the repaired windows. They also gave me some advice on do-it-yourself repair and maintenance of some other leaded glass windows in our house.
Description of Work: Repaired the cracked cames on two leaded glass windows

The staff at Wauwatosa glass are always very friendly. I brought my sash in for repair at about 9 AM and they had it done by 1 PM the same day. I have never had anything but good experiences with this company and they are particularly good with historic pieces. They also have a nice selection of obscure glass.
Description of Work: Replaced glass in a sash that I brought in to the store. Replaced with double strength glass.

In August, we dropped off doors for an estimate, they called us with an estimate. Unfortunately we were unable to contact them back. We received a certified letter stating that if we did not come and pick up the doors by Jan. 1st 2007, they would be considered abandoned. On Jan. 20th 2007 there was a message left on our voicemail from Dan, the owner, using profanities and telling us to pick up the doors. This was completely unnecessary. We assumed that since the letter stated the doors would be trash as of Jan 1st that they would be trashed. Apparently they weren't so the owner felt the need to swear into my voicemail. This is not how an owner of a "family" company should conduct themselves. Why get so angry over doors? He has no idea the situation in our life and had no reason to leave that vile voicemail. I do not need to be verbally attacked over doors. People need to know how he conducts himself.
Description of Work: The work was not performed.

I hired them on 12/1/05 and gave a down payment of $6,600.00. I was told the project would be completed between February/March 2006. The project was completed in October 2006. There were problems dealing with their subcontractor who at one point lied to me saying he had finished the project when in fact he had not. I was negotiating a discount on the remaining balance due to all the problems we encountered and the delay. They offered 10% I wanted 30%. The subcontractor called back and offered 15%. I sent a letter back asking for 20%. They never responded to that. I received a letter indicating I had until 12/13/06 to pay the reduced amount of 10% or they would file a contractor's lien. When I called the company to discuss the letter, the president of the company, Daniel Zarwell, told me he couldn't discuss the situation, that I had their letter and he hung up on me!
Description of Work: Replicated 6 lead glass doors for my home.

Response from ZARWELL'S WAUWATOSA GLASS CO
Wauwatosa Glass has been a family business for over 45 years and the heart & soul of our company is our commitment to our clientele. We bring these values to each and every project in the hope that we extend our family to include those we serve. Unfortunately, we understand that from time to time parties can become disheartened and may publicly attack the company. Wauwatosa Glass sought an agreeable compromised with the member, and an equitable arrangement was reached three days after she filed her initial complaint with Angie's List. While we regret that she has taken further steps to remedy her agreement after the conclusion of our affairs, an equitable arrangement was agreed to by member on 12/14/06. Eric Zarwell-Shop Manager

After several days they called to say the cabinet window was ready to be picked up. The price was slightly higher than the estimate I was given and the leaded piece that was replaced was discolored and looked like it had been repaired.
Description of Work: Repaired a leaded glass cabinet window. I brought the cabinet into the shop for repairs and I was given a quote for the repair.
