We purchased a new dishwasher through a major retail store. Our village requires that all new dishwashers that don't just plug in have to be installed by a plumber and an electrician with a permit from the village. Since I had to order the dishwasher in white, the retail store set an appointment for my installation two weeks in advance for December 30, 2011. The plumber showed up right on time (actually just a little bit early) with permit in hand. He assured me that the electrician would be called and come right after him to do the electrical work. After the plumber left, the electrician called and told me that since it was a holiday weekend, he would not be coming until Monday between 2:00 and 4:00 PM. I told him that the appointment had been set for two weeks and that I couldn't understand why he wasn't scheduled to come. He stated that although he was schedule, that he just couldn't make it because of the holiday weekend and he'd only gotten the work order the night before. What? After contacting the retail store installation department, they too were confused as to why the company couldn't do the job. They contacted Wire It Up and were told that the owner, Man Watson, would call me. He DIDN'T call. I recontacted the retail installation department and was told that the company told them that they couldn't come until Monday between 2:00 and 4:00. Monday came, 2:00 PM came but no electrician came. Ten minutes before 4:00 PM I contacted the retailer's installation department. They again told me that Wire It Up would be contacting me. At ten to 5:00 PM the company finally called and said that they would be one to two hours late. By this time, I doubted seriously that they were going to show up. At 7:00 PM, the electrician finally arrived. There were suspicious fumes emanating from his person. But I was just happy to have a dishwasher having survived both Christmas and New Years without one. The task took him only twenty minutes. In the end, we paid him extra for a simple wiring task that needed to be down to bring our old house up to code. he handed me the receipt and told me not to call the village for an inspection until next week. I asked him why. He said that, since they didn't know what needed to be done in our house, they hadn't pulled the permit for the job that he'd just completed. Oh, no! The bottom line is DON'T USE THIS COMPANY!!! They are sleazy and unprofessional!!!
Description of Work: Pull a permit from our village, wire our dishwasher to a plug and turn on the circuit breaker.
