 + -1 moreTony was very professional, wore booties to keep the house clean and took lots of measurements. He gave us advice about where and how to insulate our house. He also discussed the details of installation and products that he'd use. We ended up not using Whole House Insulation because we had a less expensive quote, but we were impressed with Tony's attention to detail.
Description of Work: Received an estimate for insulating attic and kneewalls to R50. Included air sealing and house wrap where needed. Estimate was $4790. Also received an estimate for sealing and adding R19 insulation to basement box sills for $1275.

 + -1 moreGreat experience! I felt I got my moneys worth in labor and materials. I never felt hustled and all the people involved were very respectful. Tony had great customer relations skills.
Description of Work: I had my attic and walls insulated. Tony came out and gave me a thorough explanation of what needed to be done in my attic. He did not try to oversell me on additional work as other companies had. He was very knowledgeable and was able to explain the pros and cons of any questions I asked. I was able to get in touch with him whenever I had additional questions. His people came out and did a great job. They were very conscious of putting down paper and taking off shoes so as not to harm my wood floors. They showed up on time and cleaned up after themselves when done. Tony was more than accommodating and went above and beyond the call of duty. I would definitely hire him again. I am looking forward to lower heating costs this winter.

Description of Work: I called for an estimate to get my entire house insulated. The person came on time and seemed very friendly. At the appointment he asked for a copy of my energy audit, and once he had it would do an estimate. I did take a little while to get it to him, but I did send the copy. I then waited for an estimate. I never got a response once I sent my energy audit to the company. I went with another contractor.

He failed to show for the appointment and when I called later he said he had had the van/truck break down and had spent time at the mechanics. It was obvious he was super stressed with trying to meet previously scheduled work. I suggested that we forget trying to schedule another appointment as he wouldn't really have time for our work. He should have 1) called as soon as he knew he wouldn't make the appt and 2) informed us from the start that he was too busy to complete work in December.
Description of Work: I contacted Tony in late fall 2010 for an estimate of insulating basement sills and additional attic insulation.

 + 0 moreThe person who was scheduled to come out from Whole House Insulation Installers Inc Company was supposed be here at nine on a Saturday morning. He called us day before and changed the time to about noon. I was not really happy about that but I told him that I will wait till noon. A little while later he called back again to tell me that he would prefer coming at nine in the morning. He kept changing the time so often and that just blew his chances right then. I think he was trying to make another possible customer happy at the same time. I just thought that the whole experience was just ridiculous. I would not consider contacting them in the future.

 + -1 moreThey had a better price than the others for doing the attic. They showed up on time, they cleaned up after themselves and they were professional. They were reasonably priced, for the extra work they put in. They are very knowledgeable and they stand behind their work and if we had any problem they would be right back. The insulation for the attic is that of a different type. They were very good. That?s the type of work that I would have done myself. They did a nice job and they did proper insulation between the bathrooms and cabinet area they left it where it was and helped to finish off one of them. The cut work nor the fan broke out. So they were good. They were on time. I was really pleased. I would use them in the future.

They were on time and left when they said they would. We would recommend them. They were the only company that didn't want to do more work than was necessary from the three companies we contacted. They were prompt in answering our call. They returned our call when we called to reiterate when they were coming.

John (our crew's leader) was great - took the time to explain what he and the crew were going to do, what they were doing, and then what they did. Could not have been more pleased.
Description of Work: Insulated open joist attic with blown cellulose to R-50. All attic slopes filled as well. Insulated under finished floor attic to capacity with cellulose. Cut 4 knee wall access points, insulated with two layers of R-11 and sealed with drywall. Air sealed chimney, soil stacks and wire penetrations. (They insulated the upper levels of our home).

 + -1 moreThis was a huge job, and they did great work. They were very careful and thorough, and did the absolute minimum amount of damage to the interior that they could do. The work mostly consisted of drilling 2" holes into every stud space in the exterior walls, and blowing in dense-pack cellulose insulation. This is a dusty process, but the crew covered the furniture in each room with plastic before blowing. Afterward, every hole was plugged and all the dust and debris was cleaned up thoroughly. They really did leave the house cleaner than before they started.
Description of Work: Tony and his crew completely insulated our 100-year old house, including all exterior walls, attic, and basement sill boxes. Walls, ceiling, and floors were insulated with dense-pack cellulose, and the basement sill boxes had expanding foam sprayed into them. In addition, some old ventilation ducts were removed and air leaks sealed.

Description of Work: Blew in 1180 sq. ft. of cellulose insulation into attic. Air sealed, boxed off recessed lighting, installed 24 vent chutes and a new kitchen vent cap with insulated duct.

 + -1 moreTony responded same day and scheduled an appointment within a few days to take a look at concerns I had regarding weatherization of my windows and patio door. He was early and took a thorough look at my concerns and told me that I could either do the work myself (and described what was needed), if so inclined, or have my installers address these issues. Although, he did say he could do the work for me if I needed him. He seems incredibly honest and knowledgeable. He also gave me advice on my dryer vent. I wouldn't hesitate to use him or recommend him if I ever needed to again.

Description of Work: Our 1970's cape cod was built when gas was cheap and is the most difficult kind of house to insulate, It was very poorly insulated. Our kneewalls were neatly opened, the inside walls were covered with fiberglass and then with paper, and the floor was insulated with blown in cellulose. This included making sure that plumbing was protected from the cold. The openings were closed, taped and given a first coat of plaster. Our attic had a tent installed over the opening, cracks around the chimney were filled with foam insulation, and cellulose was blown over the entire space. Cellulose was also blown under a bedroom floor that is located over the garage and under a floor located over a front porch. In addition, fiberglass was installed at the top of our basement walls and again covered. R values after insulating are excellent.

Tony is consistent and reliable: I had received an estimate three years ago but did not end up having the funds for the project. The second estimate three years later was consistent with the first. Work was performed as scheduled within a couple weeks. Three employees worked quickly and were courteous and professional.
