The actual job took too long from start to finish. We met with John in May 2006, who worked up a plan and estimate only after numerous calls and emails. After our initial down payment for the job, it still took months, many emails, and phone calls for the work to actually get started and completed. This was about 5 months after our initial meeting. Once started, it was completed quite quickly. The railings look only OK with some areas of gaps and an area where the actual railing is uneven on the stairs. Overall, we were not happy with this experience.

WE LOVED THE PLAN AND THEY DREW UP SEVERAL OPTIONS. BUT WE HAVE HAD SOME TROUBLE. SEVERAL BOARDS WERE CUT TOO SHORT AND AFTER COMPLAINING THEY REPLACED THEM. THE NAILS UNDERNEATH WERE ALL LEFT SHOWING AND SOME OF THE DECKING HAS POPPED UP ON THE FLOORS.

I MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE OWNER AND SEVERAL TIMES DURING THE MORNING OF THE APPOINTMENT HE CALLED TO DELAY THE TRIP, WHICH WAS OK BY ME. HOWEVER, WHEN HE DID COME ANOTHER ESTIMATOR WAS LOOKING AT THE JOB. HE CALLED MY HOME AND TOLD ME THAT IF ANOTHER COMPANY WAS LOOKING AT THE JOB, HE WAS NOT INTERESTED IN LOOKING AT THE JOB.

THEY WASTED MY TIME BY NEVER SENDING ME A QUOTE.

JOHN, THE OWNER, IS PERSONALLY INVOLVED IN THE ESTIMATES AND DECK DESIGNS. HE IS GREAT TO WORK WITH.

THEY WERE ABLE TO REPAIR AND REATTACH AIRING PORCH AT A VERY REASONABLE COST. (ANOTHER CONTRACTOR INSISTED THE PORCH HAD TO BE TORN DOWN AND REPLACED AT A COST OF OVER $6,000.) BOTH PARTNERS ARE VERY COURTEOUS, CONSCIENTIOUS AND COST-CONSCIOUS: A GREAT COMBINATION! NICE TO FIND PROFESSIONALS THAT ARE WILLING TO FIX THE OLD, WHICH CAN BE MORE CHALLENGING, NOT JUST BUILD THE NEW (WHICH THEY ALSO DO).

THEY ARE THE BEST. AWESOME WORK!! I WOULD HIRE THEM AGAIN IN A MINUTE. IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR A UNIQUE QUALITY JOB, THIS COMPANY IS A MUST.
