Description of Work: Jim arrived when he said he would to give an estimate. Needed approximately 80 sq. feet of sheet rock mudded to blend in with original plaster which included an inner and outer corner. Initial number was $450.00. I don't know if Jim was waiting for me to jump on it. I didn't. Overall grade of B was given because of the price haggling. The other two drywall companies called would not get back to me. Work was good but I had to do minor clean up of plaster gobs here and there. Would rehire. Jim is a great guy and even showed me how to "fix" the auto-lock feature on my front door as well as repair various plaster cracks.

 + -1 moreWE SET UP AN APPOINTMENT FOR THE ESTIMATE AND HE DID CALL TO LET US KNOW THAT HE WOULD BE LATE. HE SHOWED UP ABOUT 45 MINUTES LATE. I DID SHOW UP FOR ACTUAL APPOINTMENT ALMOST 5 MINUTES LATE AND HE CALLED ME WONDERING WHERE WE WERE! HE WAS A LITTLE SNIPPY WITH ME AND I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT! HOWEVER, THE WORK DOES LOOK FABULOUS AND DID THE WORK IN THE TIME ESTIMATED.
Description of Work: HE PLASTERED THE CEILING IN THE BATHROOM IN ONE OF OUR APARTMENT UNITS.

 + -1 moreHIGH QUALITY AND GREAT VALUE. JIM IS A TRUE PROFESSIONAL. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY IF YOU NEED TO REPAIR OR REPLACE DRYWALL. THE JOB WAS COMPLETED ON TIME, THERE WAS VERY LITTLE MESS LEFT AFTERWARDS AND THE QUALITY WAS OUTSTANDING.
Description of Work: RIPPED OUT ENTIRE CEILING. INSTALLED INSULATION, REPLACED DRYWALL AND PAINTED. ALSO PATCHED SEVERAL AREAS AROUND THE HOUSE.

 + -1 moreJIM WAS PROMPT AND POLITE. HE GAVE ME AN ESTIMATE ON THURSDAY EVENING AND DID THE JOB ON MONDAY. THE ONLY DISAPPOINTMENT WAS THE COST. THE PRICE HE QUOTED ME WAS 700 WITH A HELPER. I OFFERED TO DO THAT. HE HAD LESS SEAMS AND DRYWALL THAN HE ORIGINALLY THOUGHT BECAUSE I TOLD HIM THE BASEBOARD WOULD COVER ANY GAP, WE USED THE SHEETS OF DRYWALL I ALREADY HAD FOR PART OF THE JOB AND BECAUSE I MIXED THE MUD WHILE HE WAS DOING THE APPLICATION THE JOB ONLY TOOK HIM 5 HOURS FROM THE TIME HE ARRIVED UNTIL THE TIME WE FINISHED, THAT IS 140 DOLLARS AN HOUR WHICH I FELT WAS RIDICULOUS. HE MADE NO ADJUSTMENT FOR NOT HAVING TO HIRE HELP, NO ADJUSTMENT FOR THE MATERIALS I FURNISHED AND I WAS SURPRISED AND DISAPPOINTED BY THAT. HOWEVER, THE CORNERS, AND THE SEAM HE DID TAPE AND PLASTER WERE BEAUTIFULLY DONE.
Description of Work: I HAD APPROXIMATELY 100 SQUARE FEET OF SPACE THAT NEEDED DRYWALL. THERE WAS NO PLASTER WORK OR SPRAY APPLIED. IT WAS DRYWALL AND TAPING ONLY. IT CONSISTED OF 2.5 PIECES OF 4X9 SHEETS WHICH HE SUPPLIED, AND 1.5 4X8 SHEETS THAT I SUPPLIED. TAPING INCLUDED TWO INSIDE CORNERS, THREE OUTSIDE CORNERS, AND A 13' LENGTH OF CEILING AT THE TOP OF THE PIECES AND ONLY ONE SEAM AND A 3X4 CEILING PATCH. JIM WORKED OVER MEMORIAL DAY. HE ARRIVED AT 8, HE AND I UNLOADED HIS TRUCK AND CARRIED HIS SUPPLIES INSIDE. WE BEGAN WORK AT ABOUT 8:30. I HAD ALREADY DONE THE CARPENTRY, BUT HE DID A BIT TO MAKE THE WALLS PLUMB. HE CUT THE DRYWALL PIECES OUTSIDE AND HE AND I CARRIED THEM IN AND I HELPED HOLD THEM IN PLACE UNTIL HE COULD FASTEN THEM. I MIXED THE MUD WHILE HE WAS DOING THE PLASTERING OVER THE NAILS AND SEAMS. HE FINISHED AT ABOUT 1:30. I MADE LUNCH, WE ATE, CLEANED UP, HELPED HIM CARRY THE SUPPLIES BACK OUT TO HIS VAN, AND I PAID HIM AND HE LEFT.

 + -1 moreJIM RAYMOND RESPONDED TO MY CALL FOR REPAIRING DRY WALL IN MY HOME. HIS ADVERTISEMENT IN THE YELLOW PAGES DREW MY ATTENTION TO HIM BECAUSE HE SEEMED TO BE ONE OF FEW COMPANIES ADVERTISING AS A ''REPAIR SPECIALIST.'' HE KEPT IN CONTACT WITH ME OVER THE DAY BETWEEN WHEN I FIRST CONTACTED HIM AND WHEN WE SET UP AN APPOINTMENT FOR AN ESTIMATE. HE WAS PROMPT, COURTEOUS, VERY PROFESSIONAL, AND OFFERED TO DO THE JOB ON THE SPOT FOR THE AMOUNT HE HAD ACTUALLY QUOTED ME OVER THE PHONE BEFORE SEEING THE JOB. HIS WORK WAS SUPERB. HE WAS NEAT, CLEAN, ORDERLY, AND THE JOB WAS DONE VERY WELL (ESPECIALLY THE REPAIR TO THE CEILING IN MY FAMILY ROOM). I WOULD DEFINITELY HIRE HIM AGAIN FOR HIS PROFESSIONALISM, HIS GREAT ATTITUDE TOWARDS HIS WORKMANSHIP, HIS PUNCTUALITY, AND WILLINGNESS TO GET THE JOB DONE FOR ME IMMEDIATELY, EVEN THOUGH THIS WAS THE 4TH OF JULY WEEKEND.
