The sales floor was very busy when I was there in late November. My sales person was Jack. He was helpful during my multiple visits, but did seem to forget things that we agreed on. My recommendation is that you get him to take notes. Ultimately, however, everything worked out such that I purchased a system from him. It was installed by two guys who arrived on time during a snow storm. In spite of the snow storm, they did a great job with the installation and they took care to keep my house clean in the process. The installation crew gets an A+ from me. Now I am enjoying this fireplace insert literally every day. My wife loves it. It is very efficient and we are getting good use out of our fire place for a change.

We had been shopping for a new wood fireplace insert for approximately 8 months at a number of retailers. We selected The Fire Place because the sales staff were knowledgeable yet not aggressive. We initially selected a Jotul unit due to style concerns, but purchased a new Osburn unit at a lower price due to a model change. Units have been in high demand; they were able to obtain all of the pieces except the surround within 3 weeks of our 50% deposit, and they installed the pieces within the week of the unit's arrival. They also installed ductwork in our chimney with minimal issues (additional $500). We've made arrangements for the surround to be installed in early November. The unit works quite well and keeps the library warm for several hours after the fire has extinguished.

We own an older home with two beautiful fireplaces that did not have doors on them. We wanted to add doors to help seal off the downdraft and keep the rooms warmer. We looked for years to find just the right decorative fire place doors. There is a manufacturer in Milwaukee that makes vintage and antique looking doors with modern materials and construction. One of the local dealers is The Fire Place LTD. They had the best price and had models on display in their showroom. Although it took mfg several weeks to manufacture the doors, The Fire Place LTD installed them quickly and professionally.

I called for a rough estimate, which they gave over the phone (unusual for a contractor) and invited me to their showroom to look at the gas fireplace log sets available. Their showroom is very nice with lots of examples to see. The sales representative was friendly did a good job of explaining all the options. Since this was for our basement, we didn't want to spend too much and they suggested some ways to reduce the price. The installation was scheduled at our convenience. The installers were willing to work with me on routing and hiding the gas line so it wasn't exposed. They did a nice job quickly, were friendly and cleaned-up when they were done. I'd work with them again.

I selected glass fireplace doors in the showroom and put down 50% payment. Wayne was to contact me to set up an appointment to confirm the measurements. When he called he gave me an appointment time that did not work for my schedule. I asked if they could do it in the evening or Saturdays. He said no - only 9-5 Monday through Friday. I said that did not work since I worked and could not just leave during the day. His reply was that he would take my order to accounting to have it credited. I said I could not believe he was willing to walk an order in this business climate without even trying to come up with an option. He said there were none. I still cannot believe he took such an attitude of not caring about an order that would have been over $1000 when everything was complete.

Jack, the salesman, assisted me in the search for a fireplace that would meet three of our most important criteria: size, prices, and attractiveness. The delivery staff moved and set up the fireplace in our new location. Everyone we dealt with exhibited courteousness, helpfulness, and friendliness.

We removed old fireplace and retiled. Spent many hours at The Fireplace ltd. We are very happy with the surround. It was subbed out. Excellent value and it is beautiful. They had limited options however. Jim Hoffman, the salesman did not know very much. The doors/grate however are a different story. TWICE missed measured. We were told 8 weeks it has now been 5 months. We hope to get a significant discount. Only upon my urging did the owner get involved. The salesperson, Jim was not very helpful. We knew what to ask and have been persistant.

Our first sales person was actually intoxicated at noon when we visited the showroom. After looking some more, my wife and I decided to go back to the fireplace because we liked the features and price of this particular stove. We asked for and were helped by a different sales person and complained to management about our first experience with the intoxicated man. Management didn't seem too concerned but our second salesperson told us that he was related to the company owner and that they had similar complaints about him but have not taken any action to correct it.

Salesperson was knowledgeable, pre-install inspection (Wayne) was timely, installation was accommodating and quick. We are happy with the screen and surround/mantel. However, cauking was poor, nail holes were not filled in.

THE ONLY PROBLEM WAS THAT THE SCREENS WERE INSTALLED APPROX. 3 WEEKS LATER THAN THEY HAD ORIGINALLY SPECIFIED.

THE STONE WORK ONLY HAD ONE PERSON DOING IT AND IT TOOK HIM 2 AND A HALF DAYS TO DO IT, BUT THE STONE WORK IS BEAUTIFUL. ITS PROBABLY BETTER THAT THEY ONLY HAD ONE PERSON. THEY WERE VERY COURTEOUS AND THEY CLEANED UP VERY WELL AFTER THE JOB. TWO PEOPLE PUT THE FIREPLACE IN; ONE PERSON DID THE ELECTRONICS AND THEN OF COURSE ONE PERSON DID THE MASONRY WORK. THEY BOTH DID VERY WELL.
