We read all the great reviews about Randy here on Angie's List, so we definitely wanted to receive a quote from him. His quote was about $2,500 more than the contractor we ultimately went with. Randy even was friends with the other contractor, and said there would be no hard feelings if we went with them over him. Anyway, that difference in price allowed us to include a new steel entry door, storm door, and vinyl shutters, and still be a bit under the price Randy quoted. We still gave him an "A" in price because his price was right in line with our contractor, and it was about $18,000 less than the third quote we received (go ahead and do the math, and read our other reviews to see who we definitely don't recommend!) We felt kind of bad not going with him since he was really nice, very professional, and was an Angie's List "All-Star", but it just came down to price. We would definitely consider him again in the future. *Appox. Cost: $16500*

Called for an estimate, and the owner, Randy, returned our call right away. Randy accommodated our schedule and came over in the evening to do the estimate, which was really convenient for us. The crew came to install the new roof and everything went very well. They finished in a couple days time and cleaned up the area very nicely. We have a great looking new roof. We're very happy with the service we received and would use Superior Siding & Windows again. Thanks Randy!

Mr. Eldien showed up for the initial estimate appointment on time. Although professional, he had a rather suspicious and discomforting high-pressure sales technique and did not want to wait 24 hours for an answer. Nonetheless, the project was agreed to: it was within a reasonable time frame, he tweaked the price a tiny bit to something within the expected range, and Wisconsin law allows the three day cooling off period. Only the windows were installed on schedule. According to the contract Mr. Eldien wrote, all the work was to have been completed by 5/4/07, but the siding was not even started until two weeks later, 5/18/07. Mr. Eldien did call sometime after the fourth to say the work would be started soon and offered bad weather as the reason for the delay. A few days for bad weather would have been understandable but two weeks seems excessive. Superior Siding was promoted from an F to a D on timing because Mr. Eldien initiated the call, there was no cash down, and the timing was not especially critical. To his credit, Mr. Eldien did return calls in a timely manner and complied with owner requests. Also to his credit, when a different contractor damaged some siding weeks later, it was eventually repaired at no charge. One workman showed up consistently but it was a mystery what time he would arrive or leave and who, if anyone, would be with him. Any one problem or concern alone was insignificant, but taken together it made it seem like the goal was to get the job over with as quickly as possible, collect the cash, and go. As the project progressed, it was asked that a few things be left alone, or were not brought to Mr. Eldien s attention, because the owner felt he would do a better job himself, or, in at least one instance, keep the damage to minimum. The construction debris that had to be cleaned up by the owner was as expected (but the neighbors complained). The dozens of cigarette butts, however, was unacceptable, especially at the side of the house where the dumpster and trash bins were located, and butts were still being cleaned up three weeks after completion. At the end of the project, owner comments appeared to receive a very cool reception. Weeks after the completion a heavy rain occurred, water seeped into the garage, and it was discover that the final downspout elbow was improperly (male-female) connected. (This customer would like to think it was just extreme carelessness, but given the workman's attitude, would not entirely rule out it was deliberate.) What was ultimately delivered was the very minimum expected of any contractor: mistakes were corrected, minimum requirements were met, and an OK job was performed at an OK price. This owner is left wondering if this kind of quality could have been done for less or if it would have been better to spend more for better quality.

Randy was more than happy to take a look at it, but he didn't think they would be the best fit for the project. He gave me some recommendations on how to move forward.

Excellent. I called Randy, who had done an excellent job siding my house this past summer, and he sent a crew right out. They cleaned off my roof, cleaned the gutters out and got rid of the ice jams. I haven't received a bill yet, so I don't know what the cost will be. Haven't had that leak since.

Results were excellent. Team showed up, although an hour later than communicated to us, but they got down to business and took extra care to keep the area clean as they were working. They also replaced a few boards on the roof that had begun to rot. Randy is very professional and friendly. He asked some key questions about the job, that no other roofer asked.

Randy returned calls promptly and also supervised work closely. Crews worked late one evening (Randy brought in lighting) in order to get roof down before rainstorm hit. Crews did amazing job protecting rose bushes and other shrubs/flowers -- especially considering the complete tear off. Randy did great job orchestrating crews and materials.

Randy (Owner)was very easy to work with, and his crew headed by Wes did very good work. Wes is a excellent crew leader. He encouraged questions, always gave prompt professional answers and advice (as did Randy).

The job was scheduled to start the last week of September or the first week of October. Randy called the last week of August and said they were ahead of schedule and wanted to start the first week of September. Work started on a Wednesday with a five-man crew showing up. They worked quickly and neatly, doing a complete cleanup everyday and finishing by Friday afternoon. The work is top quality and I am very satisfied. I would highly recommend Superior.

Randy came out to give an estimate. Peter later came to measure windows. Five weeks later windows were installed. Peter does an excellent job and cleans up afterwards. Pricing is fair and nothing is due till job is finished and approved by Randy. This company has done work for us on three different occasions and we have been well satisfied with each.

They did excellent work. Brandy Eldon is the president - and he went out of his way to get a different siding than what he normally used. The siding I wanted matched my house, and he ordered it from Canada! He also made sure it was high quality! It matches my house beautifully. They did an excellent job installing. The young man who did the installation was very talented at what he did. I am very happy with their work.

The work went so efficiently, I am still in awe - especially after hearing horror tales from friends. The house looks beautiful. I assumed that my garden would be trashed - it wasn't at all. They were very careful. They even rehung my window boxes and plant hangers after they were through. One of the men discovered a piece of old cedar shingle stuck in my roof (How did it get there???). He pulled it out and fixed the resulting hole. When the job was over, they cleaned up pretty well. All of this was in the extreme heat. They started on the planned day. Randy was always available, though I wasn't home when he stopped by. I liked the fact that I didn't have to pay a dime until the job was over. My only complaint is that in places, the caulking is a little sloppy and because of the old age of my house, there are some places in which the siding is not supported from underneath very well, resulting in hanging my wind chime there rather than a planter.

Randy came to the house in May to give us an estimate on replacing our front picture window that cracked over the winter. He explained our options and the product very well. He told us that Peter, the installer, would contact us and come out to measure within 2 weeks (which he did) and the window would be ordered. Randy said it would take approximately one month for the window to come in. We were contacted when the window was in and Peter installed it on July 2nd. Peter arrived on time, removed the old existing window, installed the new window and cleaned up within 8 hours. We were impressed with the friendliness, professionalism and knowledge of both Randy and Peter. We plan to have them replace additional windows in our home in the future.

Came home and wasn't done right with the wrong color; called them and they came back and fixed the color issue and the vents were not put in per contract so they came back put the vents in very well pleased after they took care of the problem. They were professional and courteous. I believe it was a bad time to get work done just after the holiday.

This is the best experience we have ever had with a contractor! Randy is great! Before the work even began, he gave us a fair estimate, explained everything, and came back twice to make sure he had the exact match to the trim color on the rest of the house (not a common color). When we had questions, he called back quickly. His crew came and did all of the work within a couple of days and cleaned the yard up. Initially, the fascia wasn't done as we had expected, and some of the rotting wood was exposed. We called him, and his crew was back on the job within one day. The crew was friendly, answered our questions and worked efficiently. They cleaned up after themselves so well that, when we came home from work, we couldn't even tell where they had the pile of old debris (that we saw when we stopped by at lunchtime).

They were awesome! I wish we could hire them for everything! Randy was the only one who did not want any money up front. I guess he knew his work would speak for itself! They timed the job perfectly. He was easy to get a hold of and was very professional. Very efficient and got right down to business. Follow up was great!

They were very hard workers. It took about 2 1/2 days because they were battling the rain. They did a wonderful clean-up job when they were done. This was very important to us as well. We have seen what a mess so many houses in our neighborhood have been left with. Our house looks so much nicer than so many in our neighborhood that have been done by these fly-by-night companies that have swarmed our area. Randy came a couple days later for final inspection and this is when he received a check for the full amount. We have referred everyone we talk to about roofs to Randy. I'm not sure if anyone has used him or not yet, but all I have to say is if not, it's their loss! We wouldn't think twice about using him again. His business card will be in our drawer forever.

Randy, Wes, Glen, and the rest of the crew were professional, courteous, well-versed in their products and service, and made the experience a very positive one for us. They consistently kept us up to date on progress and kept our lines of communication open. Our home feels brand-new. The overwhelmingly positive feedback we have gotten from the neighborhood leads us to believe that Superior will have a great deal of work in our area over the next several years.

Randy was prompt, courteous and was the first of four to actually tell me the roof did not need to be replaced at this time, that it could wait possibly another 2-3 years. He wrote up his estimate at that time, showed me samples of his shingles, and explained what would be done, answered all my questions with good information. He explained about price changes since Hurricane Katrina, 2005, and that prices are continuing to go up more often now and more steeply. He said that he did not require any money down and this would tell the customer that he has liquidity and is not dependent on our down payment to be able to start the work and that he has absolute confidence in his workmen to do the job in a timely way and to do it right. would understand if he changes his policy in the future. I would not hesitate to use him and have recommended him to friends.

After contacting five different companies, we selected Superior Siding & Window (yes, they do roofing too). Randy Eldien, the owner of Superior gave us a competitive, same-day quote and was able to schedule the work in a few weeks. He worked with us to develop the contract in great detail. His six-man crew showed up on time and completed the entire job, including clean-up, in one day. Randy came by in person later on to inspect the work, survey the property and make sure we were satisfied. The only minus for their work was the canvas tarp they used to cover one of our flower beds, which crushed the plants rather than protected them. They need to use wire frames to hold the tarps over delicate plants (even tomato cages would work). Tarps are useful over shrubs, but not flower beds.

Randy was always courteous and professional. His crew came when he said they would come and the job was finished quickly. The crew was professional and respectful. Randy did not ask for any payment until he determined we were satisfied with the job.

Great experience w/ owner, Randy. The worker was on time, and job was finished timely. Great price. HIGLY recommend.

Randy came to give us an estimate and provided professional opinions on which type of siding would be best for our needs, regardless of price. They were selected for best bid and because of the owners direct involvement (not a sales rep!). The entire project was done in 1 week by the same team with no problems. No money is due until the job is complete, and the customer is satisfied. We plan to use them again for windows.
