The hardest part to the entire process was selecting the product: just too many choices. That is a good thing. After that the measuring, installing the counter tops and reconnecting the plumbing was a breeze. All with a very friendly attitude. We are so satisfied that we went back to do a second bathroom and then later to do the master bathroom.

This experience started with an online request for a quote where I specifically asked not to be contacted until after a certain date. Right from the start Summit heeded my instructions. From there they worked with me to locate the perfect granite for my job and they price-matched the competitor's pricing. I had decided to install a granite composite sink, which Summit didn't sell directly, but they worked with me to have the sink shipped to them. And when it arrived damaged they immediately contacted me so that I could work with the vendor to have another unit delivered. On the day of installation, there was some confusion about the granite that was supposed to be installed. The counter top for the powder room had not been sent with the rest of the shipment. But the issue was quickly resolved and I had the powder room counter and sink installed along with the kitchen. No extra trips needed by my plumber and no extra day for me to have to take off work! Installation day there was also a hidden issue with some drywall that didn't become obvious until AFTER my kitchen counters were removed by the Summit Granite installers. Rather than cutting into the drywall - because it was unclear if framing would also be impacted - the counter had to be shimmed up on the kitchen cabinets. I will have to have someone come in and put trim/molding around the top of the cabinets, just under the counters, but I think that was the safest option. And the result is perfectly level counters. Overall, I am thrilled with the end results.

This was an absolute nightmare. We paid extra to have our peninsula cut into one piece, measured the stone and had plenty of room, but the stone was cut in half. Additionally, another piece of the stone was not cut accurately and needed to be sent back to the shop for adjustments. We shopped for a long time before find this piece , which we felt was perfect, and ordered with plenty of runway to fit our schedule. The initial delivery was July 5th. When I called to tell them about the mistake they were responsive and accountable. Unfortunately, this was the last piece of the stone we ordered and they were waiting on more to arrive. Well, we waited on more to arrive for more than month. There were countless shipping delays, which are not the company's fault, but this was about a full month delay. When it finally arrived, they let me know I could come see it. After driving 45 minutes in rush hour traffic, they unpackaged one of two bundles. We did not like what they had, so we were forced to come back again. We picked the better of the two, but neither match what we bought. We are incredibly unhappy with this experience and will likely have to pay to have this replaced with something that matches what we bought. For our troubles, we were offered a $200 discount, which we needed to ask for. We were also being billed for stone we were not able to receive, so I had to ask them to remove that from the invoice. We selected this company after reading many positive reviews. Their professionalism and accountability was refreshing, but we are very unsatisfied with our product. We did not get what we paid for and there is a stark contrast between our two counter tops. I would suggest looking elsewhere for granite if you are in the market. For a frame of reference, our original install date was July 5th. This project was officially completed October 6th. Four months for granite install is ridiculous.

Summit Granite did an exceptional job in my parents' kitchen and basement. It was a big WOW when I saw the place. It was a big project and my parents were extremely satisfied with their experience as well as the outcome that they asked me to write the good reviews on their behalf because they don't know computers. "The staff were very professional, the sales rep, the installers and the manger. They were so helpful from the moment we walked in. From picking out the stones, the measurement, pricing, to the installation, everything was done in a timely manner. After sale service was satisfying and prompt as well. They patiently answered all the inquiries and quickly took care the concerns that we had. Our kitchen and basement now look 10 times better than they were." I will eventually need to replace the countertop in my home. My parents highly recommended Summit Granite. I will share my thoughts after the job is done at mine. Based on the experience my folks had with them, I believe I won't be disappointed.

Summit Granite has a large showroom with a tremendous variety of granite, and other types of stone. They have a helpful, professional and friendly staff. The staff gave us many suggestions as to the design of our kitchen, along with calling us at home to guide us in the right direction! In addition, they have many contacts that we used to complete our project. The installation crew was courteous, efficient and cleaned up after their work. The end result is beautiful piece of art! They exceed our expectations! Overall, we feel Summit Granite is a tremendous price/value that is more than competitive with other granite stores.

It looks good. I'm not a hundred percent thrilled with the color I chose. I compared with a couple of other places and they were probably the least expensive. They do very well on price. They had a little problem with one of the machines that cut the stone. So they delayed the project by a week, which really turned out to be a better situation for me. They were going to install on the Friday before Memorial Day, which would have left me all Memorial Day weekend with no plumbing in the kitchen. By them delaying it by four days, it was a better situation because I was able to get the plumber in here on Friday. So we didn't have to go more than one evening without plumbing in the kitchen. They were here 15 minutes early, which was great. I like early.

They were a little late for the installation but they explained why they were late. Once the installation process began, it went well. The guys were very professional and answered all questions that we had. The countertops are beautiful and we are very satisfied. I have received many compliments on the countertops. We would recommend Summit Granite to anyone looking to complete any granite project.

Updated 11/8/13: Spoke with owner (Jenny) on 11/8/13 and had a much more pleasant and productive conversation than with her employee. We agreed that Summit will reimburse me for 1/2 the cost to fix the dishwasher (only $30) as I agree that the plumber has some fault here as well and I expect him to pay 1/2 as well. Jenny also agreed that it might may sense to at least put a note on the counter edge warning that there are screws sticking out below, certainly a simply measure to prevent future damage. With respect to my other concerns, I am letting them be. I mentioned these to her, but my primary concern related to the dishwasher. While I may have gotten a better install from somebody else, I think that the pricing at Summit makes up for this and as such I can live with it. I suspect that over time I will notice the other issues less as I will not be using the critical eye that I do currently given that it is a brand new kitchen. I do appreciate her prompt response and appology for how things were handled on my 11/6 call. 11/7/13 Entry: Went with Summit Granite because of the price, but you also get what you pay for….. 1) When the employee came out to do the measurements for the countertops we discussed at length (and our kitchen designer who was on site also discussed with the measurer) that we wanted the countertop to extend over the edge of the undermount sink all around (this way you don’t see the crud that collects and can be difficult to remove where the sink and countertop meet). When the countertop and sink were installed, it is flush in some areas and there is a bit of an overhang in others, so not only did they fail to properly include the overhang, but they did not even cut the countertop evenly to match the shape of the sink (they had the sink template, they just didn't cut it correctly). The end result is that the countertop edge is not even around the sink making it look like it is crooked. I noted this on my completion sheet but they never called me to discuss my concerns. I later learned that many installers take the sink itself withthem at measure for when they cut the sink, and not just the template, so that they can ensure an exact fit. They did not do that here. 2) The installers really should shadow some plumbers for a few days to better understand how soap dispensers and dishwasher air gaps are installed. The installers were asking us where we wanted them placed (I thought they were the professionals) they should know how these things work. There were several issues with the holes they drilled including that they were not far enough back on the countertop. We just barely were able to get the soap dispenser in (the plumbers said they see this all the time) and while we wanted the soap on the right and air gap on the left, because of where they drilled the holes our only option was to reverse these. It works, but not what we intended for form or function. 3) With respect to both 1 and 2 above, I got the sense that the installers attempt to get the tops in as fast as they can and do not pay as much attention to detail as they should. Perhaps the sink could have been better aligned with the opening, but they did not take the time. 4) When they installed the dishwasher mount strip on the underside of the counter, they left in there two screws that were sticking out waiting to damage something (instead of either giving the screws to us (we were on-site) or taping them in a safe place). Well the plumber was not aware that they left these screws hidden under the counter and thus when the dishwasher was pushed into place it gouged the top of the dishwasher control panel. When I called to complain on 11/7/13 the employee I spoke with was rude and extremely defensive laying complete blame on the plumber. While I am not saying that the plumber is not without some fault, I do take issue with her trying to lay all blame on him and also take issue with how rude she was. She really had no interest in discussing the issue and had no concern that a customer might be less than satisfied. She did not even take my name to say they would look into it further, or that she would discuss with the manager. She was also hostile when I suggested that they consider changing their practice with respect to leaving the screws in the strip (which she said they do all the time). It wouldn't be that difficult to put the screws in an envelope, write on the envelope and quot;dishwasher screws, and quot; and tape this in a safe spot. When I (after the fact) looked on BBB, there was a prior incident of an appliance being scratched that they were not willing to resolve until BBB was contacted. Based in part on the defects in how the countertop and sink align, the failure to cut the overhang as we explicitly requested, and the scratch on the dishwasher, but even more so based on how the employee responded to me when I called to discuss this issue, I can't recommend this company. Unfortunate given that the replacement panel for the dishwasher is only $60 and I am willing to install myself, but we never even got to the point of discussing what was needed to fix the dishwasher given that she would not back off her claim that they were faultless.

Although they were not the cheapest quote we received, we were very comfortable working with them. I stopped by while riding my bicycle one day, and talked extensively with Brendan, even before my wife and I had commited to replace our existing countertops. He was very professional and honest, and seemed very knowledgeable about granite. When we decided to commit to the project, we got 3 estimates, and talked with a couple of others. We liked that Summit was a local operation, and we saw the slabs in the back, and observed the cutting process. A week after that, a guy came and measured everything. and the install team came two weeks later and installed it. The installation went very smotthly, and the 3 guys were in and out in less than 2 hours. While it seems most granite dealers include the kitchen sink, our sink was smaller than any carried by Summit. So, we negotiated to include free edging instead, since we had to buy our own sink. After installation, we had a misunderstanding about the sealant. We called Brendan, and he rectified the situation over and above what we expected. The only recommendation we would have for someone is to do their own demolition. The plumber had come and taken out the sink already. We paid $285, and it took them less than 10 minutes to do it. The 4 dealers we talked to all charged well over $200 to do it. All told, I would recommend this dealer.

I removed an old laminate countertop and moved some cabinets in order to install a dishwasher. Summit Granite came out and measured for the new top. They do not use the newer laser and computer measuring system, instead they use a tape measure and make cardboard templates where needed for angles. The top fitted okay except for one area where the factory fabricators missed cutting off a small triangle. After several conversations with the office, they reluctantly decided to field cut the piece. The field cut and buffing actually turned out very good. They also furnished and installed an under counter stainless steel sink. The sink installation also looks okay. One problem with the sink installation is that when they cored the holes for the faucet, they cut through one of the grooves for a retaining clip. Hopefully, I can epoxy that back into place. They were a little sloppy with the compound used to seal the joints. I have been able to, with some effort, to remove the excess. Overall, I am pretty happy with the countertop and sink. Although, I really disliked the old ones. The entire project took 6 weeks from the day I ordered it until the final installation. That time table was as quickly as they could get it done.

I think they are an incredibly professional company. The prices they offer are very reasonable compared to others. In fact, the granite I purchased from them was about $30.00 cheaper compared to another company I visited. I'm absolutely satisfied with the outcome of their work.
