+ -1 moreTHIS BUSINESS IS NOW OUT OF BUSINESS DUE TO THE OWNERS HEALTH CONDITION HAVING WORSENED. THEY CLOSED IN OCTOBER 2012.
Description of Work: NEEDED CHECK OUT AND REPAIR OF SOME OLD CLASSIC STEREO PIECES. ONE TURNTABLE, ONE RECEIVER, AND ONE CASSETTE DECK. THE FIRST TWO WERE REPAIRED AND SERVICED TO FULL OPERATING CONDITION. THE CASSETTE DECK WAS NOT REPAIRABLE DUE TO LACK OF PARTS BEING AVAILABLE. THEY FELT BAD ABOUT NOT BEING ABLE TO REPAIR THE ITEM.

+ -1 moreGreat service and a terrific value. We got far more for our money than we would have elsewhere and the service was top notch. We had a quote for almost double from a well known area home entertainment company!
Description of Work: Installing stereo equipment and hooking up to our already wired house. Installing front projector system and screen. New television.

+ -1 moreVery difficult to get owner to return calls and especially so when there are problems. Work performed had problems that weren't discovered till remodel was complete and it would require ripping into walls to fully correct. We still have problems with the system and will go elsewhere for any future upgrades/work. If you do use them, Ron is the most helpful and seemingly most knowledgeable and qualified of his employees.
Description of Work: We purchased a home that was fully wired for electronics (Home theater room, computer networking, every room with speakers wired to stereo system, etc) and the work was done by Sound Investments. Called them for info on what was there, how it works and cost to get it all back up and running. Ended up Purchasing large components (big flat screen TV, 300 disc changer, programmed remotes (2) two additional speakers for surround sound in home theater room, and additional wiring for areas of home being remodeled. The owner came initially to meet with us, show us what we had and discuss options. Initially he was very friendly, attentive and responsive. As the house was originally set up by them, he seemed customer oriented and when we priced individual components the price didn't seem out of line. His installers did a good job initially, but when the bulk of the work was done and the bills paid the responsiveness dropped of dramatically.

+ -1 moreWe are long-time customers (20 years) who expected but did not receive a competitive price, adequate demo of the sound system recommended; questions were not reasonably resolved despite repeated requests for information and/or demo. Questionably inaccurate info for a customer who was hearing impaired. The salesperson was polite but somewhat dismissive though he pursued us via phone; owner was downright rude to my spouse. Overall, a disappointing experience from a small company with what we perceived to be a good track record and every reason to cultivate our base. Competitive high end businesses did a much better job regarding price and education; Sadly to say, we got much better information, which could be independently verified, from a big-box store.
Description of Work: Multiple trips for estimate on new plasma TV, home sound system and installation.

+ -1 moreTHEY CALLED BACK THE NEXT DAY TO SAY IT COULD NOT BE REPAIRED. THEIR KNOWLEDGE OF SOUND & VISUAL EQUIPMENT IS TERRIFIC, AND THEY ARE HONEST ABOUT THE RELATIVE VALUE OF DOING REPAIR. I HAVE DISCUSSED SEVERAL AUDIO & VISUAL COMPONENTS WITH RICK AND HE WAS ALWAYS TOTALLY HONEST ABOUT WHETHER THE EQUIPMENT WAS WORTH BEING SERVICED OR SHOULD BE REPLACED. I HAVE BEEN VERY IMPRESSED WITH THEIR OVERALL SERVICE AND SALES EFFORTS. THIS IS A FINE COMPANY TO DEAL WITH. IN ADDITION TO PROVIDING PROMPT SERVICE, THEY ALSO SELL NEW EQUIPMENT AND DO NOT TRY TO OVERSELL HIGH-END PRODUCTS. RICK ASKED GOOD QUESTIONS ABOUT THE TYPE OF MUSIC I LISTEN TO, SIZE OF ROOM, ETC. VERY LOW-KEY SALES EFFORTS. GOOD PEOPLE, PRODUCTS AND SERVICES.
Description of Work: I ASKED THEM TO CLEAN & REPAIR A 10-YEAR-OLD VCR. THE $15 FEE FOR THE DIAGNOSTIC REVIEW WOULD BE APPLIED TO THE ACTUAL REPAIR COSTS, OR WOULD BE CREDITED TO A NEW PRODUCT PURCHASE.
