The house had been on the market for about 6 months but it hadn't sold. I took the house of the market and didn't plan to list it again until the spring. Ilissa said she had a hot buyer that was looking for a house like mine. I re-listed my house and it sold before Christmas. She had a huge conflict of interest in the sale because she had been close with the family of the buyer for about 10 years. She told him I would take the lowest price, which I had told her I'd do as long as I didn't have to make any more improvements to the house. The father saw that the basement wall had moved less than a half an inch, and he wanted to put in reinforcements. We split that cost. I had asked my sons to be a part of the process to advise me. They were not on the title and did not have power of attorney. Ilissa chose only to communicate with my sons, calling one son all the time and bothering him. I told her that she was only to talk to me because my name was on the title of the house. Her lack of professionalism and lack of communication skill drove a wedge between my boys and myself. She completely neglected to keep me in the loop about any of the legal documentations or inspections, and I was not informed of certain legal documents that I would need for the closing. I had to go to City Hall to get them the morning of the closing because she never told me I needed them. She told me I had to be out of the house by February because the buyer's lease wouldn't allow them to stay until March. I had no other housing and in that case I would have only had 90 days to find new living arrangements. I said no, that the earliest I would move out would be in March. Contrary to the realtor's original statement there was no monetary loss on the behalf of the buyers. I started communicating with the buyers directly as there were some other things (that went along with the house) that I planned to sell to them. Ilissa called to tell me that I was not allowed to communicate with the buyers directly. If I hadn't been in touch with the buyer, I would have missed the closing because the time was changed and she didn't call to tell me. She didn't even send the closing paperwork to me, she sent it to my son. Ilissa did not come to the walk-through, nor did she come to the closing. The paper work wasn't in order and the situation was very disappointing. One of my sons said he felt absolutely abandoned by our realtor. I would never recommend her.
Description of Work: She was my real estate agent when I sold my home (from December 15th2010 to March 7th 2011).
