I had four glass block windows, with vents, installed last year. The process was a lot better than I could have hoped for. The final price was exactly as quoted, measurements were taken during the quote, and the guys showed up with the windows made exactly to the measurements. The installation went smoothly and quickly, with the only delay being they ran out of concrete, and one of the guys had to run to Menards to get more! Didn't change the cost to me at all. They cleaned up thoroughly after the job, and I couldn't be happier with the end product.

It was a fantastic business experience. They did a great job, very professional. Jim, the owner was super kind and he kept a fluent communication with me. They took all seven old windows and installed 7 new block windows in 2 and half hours. They clean the whole basement afterwards. I would totally hire this company again.

The owner (Jim) sent a crew of five people to install my four windows. All five men were courteous, friendly and very professional. As far as I could tell no one took a break until the work was done. The windows look great and have improved the security of my house and as a bonus my basement in much warmer. I talked to Jim, the owner, on several occasions prior to the installation and he was always friendly and accommodating. There is no question that I will hire this company for any and all glass block work I might need in the future.

It went fantastic, scheduling was quick and easy and the workers were professional and efficient.

Outstanding. The crew got their measurements quickly, arrived on time and it was obvious that they treat their customers with care and their work not just as a technical project, but as art. I gave their info to my construction contractor and my neighbors. This was only for one window, but I expect to do additional windows after construction and grading are complete.

Quality is looking good. It took a couple of hours, it was done within the day. The workers were very good. They didn’t do anything outstanding that I can think of, but they did a good job.

The new window leaks a steady stream of cold air. My old mortared window didn't have air leaks coming in. When they removed the old window they dented the aluminum trim around the outside of the window which was totally unnessesary. Now I need to pay and siding contractor to replace it which raises the cost of my project considerably.

Excellent. The windows themselves were much more beautiful than I expected because Security doesn't use mortar: their blocks are put together with a clear adhesive. This allows more "block" per square foot because the seams are thinner, and the whole thing admits light. Their staff took the time to explain the various block options, and seemed genuinely concerned that I understood the privacy value of each: it's like they actually cared about my personal security, They also guided me to an aesthetic option ("ice") and helped me fully understand the difference between brick-to-brick and existing frame. As a result I'm thrilled with both installations. Bill, the scheduler, was sweet, and my installers were a pleasure to have around. They were working the same day as a different company put in glass block in the basement and there wasn't a bit of conflict. The young man who did the finish work was (literally) an artist and it shows. I would definitely use them again.

Great job by the install crew. They were on time, worked efficiently, and were done in about 1.5 hours. My only criticism is that I wish they had educated me on vented vs non-vented windows. I went with non-vented thinking they were sturdier which they might be. However if I ever need to exhaust something out of the basement I'll regret not having at least one vented window. Something to keep in mind if you're weighing the pros/cons of vented vs non-vented windows.

The quoting process was very professional. Owner mailed a quote to me after visiting the house to see the windows. Price was exactly as stated on the quote. I also stopped by the store to see exactly how they would look and understand options for vents and block configurations. Quote was 10% better than competitors. I also researched the types of construction offered in glass block windows and felt this was the best fit for an older home that may have more foundation movement. On the day of the job, the team was on time and completed the work in an hour or two. Results look solid, very professional, and clean. They knew what they were doing. Excellent job! They lock tight and seal out air leaks.

I went with Security Glass Block and had a great experience with them. They had a great office staff and always returned my calls and answered my questions, their price was very competitive, and they showed up on time to get the job done. They cleaned up all the mess and they were even so neat they didn?t damage any of my plants I had in the beds around the house. They had plenty of guys to do the job in a quick manner and even allowed me to pick the day I wanted all of the glass block installed so that it would fit my schedule. They hauled away all of the debris and worked around my windows around my rear deck. Adding the glass block to my basement really brightened up my basement, increased the value of my house, helped with security and improved the overall look of my house. I highly recommend them and would go with them again if I so need to.

Perfectly smooth. No issues whatsoever. Quick, efficient crew that was easy to communicate with. I believe they were in an out in a day, which wasn't very long after we had first contacted them. Our basement is not only safer but much brighter, and looks great inside and out. We highly recommend them.

Once I found a company who dealt in the same brand as the original on the house it was easy to schedule the replacement. There was a bit of miscommunication regarding access and the workers were absolutely lovely about lifting their ladder over the neighbor's kennel fencing in order to gain access to the outside of our 2nd floor duplex. The job was done quickly and efficiently with no mess afterward.

My only contact with this company was a phone call to get an estimate for glass block to be installed in the 6 windows in our basement. I forgot whom I spoke to but he was very friendly and informative. He didn't need to come out to the house as he simply asked the dimensions of my windows (I had taken them from an estimate from another company that came out). Some people may think that's a bad thing that he didn't feel the need to come out but he said he would certainly come out to measure if we decided to have the work done. He did request that I come to the shop to look at the product and see how the glass blocks are made but my husband and I haven't had the time to do that yet. The difference in this company is the use of a hot-melt adhesive to glue the blocks together as opposed to mortar. You will hear a lot of pros and cons about hot-melt vs mortar when you talk to the different companies that use each method. I was impressed with what I heard about the hot-melt adhesive procedure, not to mention it looks much cleaner than mortar (look at pictures on SGB's webpage). My husband and I spoke with a company that spoke very poorly of the usage of hot-melt adhesive that I almost didn't even contact SGB. I'm glad I did because it changed my mind. In the end, my husband and I actually decided not to have glass blocks installed for reasons unimportant to my review but when we do have it done, we'll most likely go with this company. I put N/A for Quality, Punctuality and Professionalism simply because we did not have the work done so I didn't want to artificially rate it.
